Hey everyone, my full review on this new 2024 model from Blackvue, including the LTE model, will be up soon. I think this year they did add the improvements many of us were hoping for last year. If you aren't subscribed, please do so you can get notifications when my full reviews post, thanks!
@@mikeprice8307 No, I am just recording without being connected to it via wifi or the cloud. During 99% of your driving you shouldn't be connected to them with your phone.
THANK GOD they brought back h265 option...I think they removed it for overheating reasons for the 900X Plus and 970 and 970X. Want to see what high bitrate h265 HEVC looks like compared to gimped h264...look at the underside of the bridge at the 0:10 point of the video! Detail just turns to a big blur in h264, with trees, license places, everythign just turning to compression garbage.
They all are 4k 30fps only still. I haven't done the 970X Plus side by side with the U3000 but I do have that too. Based on my previous comparison of the U3000 and last years 970X I'm betting the 970X Plus will beat the U3000 in video quality. Even though last year's 970X didn't have the starvis 2 image sensor it did actually hold its own against the U3000 that did have the starvis 2. I think the U3000's problem is it doesn't have HDR high dynamic range like blackvue does. The U3000 does have 2K in the rear though which is nice. I don't have the rear camera right now to test but I'm trying to get one. I think it would come down to what features you find more important, the U3000 radar low power parking mode is a really cool feature no other camera has. But the cloud functionality and ease of use of Blackvue Cloud is much better than Thinkware's cloud service.
@@integralcam The cloud feature isn't really what's super important to me. Though pulling up videos on my phone vs taking the SD card out is a perk. I mostly am looking for that plus a low profile size and the U3000 and the 970x both kinda fit that bill. And of course, obviously the video quality matters. If waiting for the Plus version is worth it, I may make that jump.
@@michaelw2263 I think its definitely worth waiting for the Plus model. I am not sure when its coming out, I sent the Blackvue marketing team if they had a date. They might have told me but I accidently deleted the original email when they reached out to me for this unit. I really felt like last years model should have had the Starvis 2 image sensor but better late than never. These new sensors don't come out every year so this model should be nice bump in quality and last several years before another big improvement I would imagine.
I had to look it up because i thought i was going crazy but they really wasted their time & money with dropping the same dang camera a year later with the new sony star vs 2 that's crazy instead of just dropping the star vs 2 version last year
