A decent game that could do with a little refinement. Hopefully we'll see a patch at some point. Will you be picking it up? Let us know in the comments section. Looking for eshop credit? @@kevindawley54 with respect to both channels (which I love and support) that's why I always check more than one review. many aspects come down personal opinion. which is obviously gonna differ.
I really like the fact that you take people's wallets into account when giving your score. Its important, with so many games on the switch that we spend our dollars wisely, especially when said dollars can be hard to come by.
Thanks for the review! As it stands right now, this is gonna be a pass for me. It seems to have warts in all the wrong places as far as my personal preferences and pet peeves go. I've still got Daemon x Machina when I feel the itch for some high-octane mech action.
When I saw this one in the upcoming game video I was excited! From the trailer looked worth a look. Little disappointed with the final product though. Looks like this is one to skip
Reminds me of implosion. I may give it a go but I prefer my mech games like Daemon X and Project Nimbus but it’s interesting looking so my wait for a sale.
Don't get the complete sense of frustration and despair in your review Switch Corner felt in his. Almost wanted to give him a hug listening to his trials and tribulations.
Yeah I haven't seen his review but did hear that he found it quite frustrating. Not so much for me, more that a few odd choices let it down a bit. Glen
The fact that this plays like a GoW-like doesn't really sell the power fantasy of being in a "mech". Just doesn't have the weight or scale that mechwarrior and armored core convey. God I miss the classic MechWarrior games.
I hate the attitude of buying games in sale price but from the reviews I have seen that seems the idea around. Maybe a patch or two later and it will be worth base price.
There was a point in blackwind 4 -5 hours in where I had to go back to a previous area. The second level . I had no idea what i was supposed to do. Went back to the second level door it wouldn’t open . I had a yellow card key, I had no idea where it was supposed to go. I had Looked up play throughs multple times to see what I missed . What a headache
I honestly rather put in three times that for Musashi Megaton even if I don’t understand a lick of Japanese. Yes they are completely different genres and price tags but if it’s for a mech lovers that want some action, Musashi is great for quick smashing action. If you want piloting, Project Nimbus is a good cheap one, Daemon X Machina is pricy but I honestly think it’s worth the tag. Heck, for the same top-down asymmetric camera angle and action gameplay as Blackwind I would go as far as go for Metallic Child. Sure it’s a rogue-lite but it’s pretty forgiving and the controls are not as janky. You giving a lot of leeway on the platforming for Blackwind. It felt so janky that at first I thought that my joycons got busted overnight that I cracked open a new pair I had laying around at the depths of my carry case to make sure.
I was interested in getting this game, I will probably get it (if I get it) on the Xbox instead of the Switch, but I still trust your guys’s reviews the most. 👍
I was really hyped for this game after seeing the trailer, kind looked like it could be a mech Hades, and I like the look, so disappointed it ended up being so wack.
I just realized. You remind me of X-Play! That’s why I love these reviews and this channel so much. Any chance for an Adam Sesslar co-review one of these days? :D
How long to beat? It's not bad at all im enjoying it if your just looking for something to mindless kill things where you don't really need to pay attention
This is possibly unpopular opinion, I don't know, you tell me, but I don't like the overuse of "glory kills". I get it that they are meant to push you into battle and award you for a more aggressive gameplay, but sometimes they just slow the pace and after you've seen the few animations available it gets repetitive. It's really tricky to pull off properly as a mechanic in a game imho.
your vibes need counseling. just. I'm a Darksiders fan. have every game available on Xbox and switch. Genysis was my last favorite and only because the characters were just way too tiny. 90% of my switch play is hh. I play most Xbox games on a 17" tablet screen or 9" one. so the screen size doesn't help, but I even tried it on a 55" lid tv and still thought they were too small. sorry. I realize you didn't ask.
Somehow, gameplay footage on this channel always looks so low-quality. Like there's some sort of capture problem or something. I love the content, but often wonder why the games look so bad, only to find they don't when watching footage on different channels. It's just on here, and on all devices I've tried it on. Even if I set the video quality to the highest possible settings, like 1080p 60fps, it still looks terribly low-res, like it was captured at sub-HD resolutions or something. 🤔
they should had just focused on 1 or 2 mechanics and polish it up really good. Honestly I thought it was gonna be more of a shmup with elements of exploration.
Hey there my friends. How’s life across the pond these days?? I’m so sorry I haven’t checked in with you guys lately but reattach assumes I’m always checking that like button and watching your videos. Edit: I truly hope this is a decent game as I love a good mech game but they seem to be hit or miss. Edit 2: DAMNIT lol
Blackwind sort of reminde of my old time favorite games of this tme, Crusader: No Remorse. It had LOTS of interaction with switches and computers in the environment, and eventually you'd learn how to use things like waste drums as bombs. However Blackwind is almost but not quite to a point of being a full price game. If they fix the problems you mention in a patch I would probably buy it. Love Mech games, as far as I know I own all of them on Nintendo Switch, as long as they have physical versions. Sadly, this will release physically only for PS5, a very ridiculous decision I believe. They would have sold way more copies of this game on the Switch I'm sure.
