Pokemon Legends Arceus (Nintendo Switch) has finally arrived! Here are some tips and tricks to help you out. Subscribe for more: ru-vid.com?su... #Pokemon
I think the amazing thing about legends arceus is you can 100% the pokedex alone and don't have to trade to get them all. While it was fun trading I think this is a step in the right direction
@@endoskel9262 I'm just getting it for the fact that in my opinion, game freak is going in the right direction and hope it pans out over time and after playing it myself, its definitely worth it
@@lethal_maruader8203 yeah this is probably the only game where my little brother and I actually COOPERATED(which is nearly impossible by the way)on buying
The last part about choosing between the clan leaders is actually not true - or at least it is not as dramatic. It does make a difference in terms of how the story plays out, but at the end of the day, you get both, palkia and dialga, in their original form and you have to get a seperate item from the clan leaders in order to toggle between their original and their origin form (for both!)
yeah you get both but the battle will be different. You will battle one at like different form but both will be yours. The main concern is the darkrai/shaymin. I hope this game somehow add these two in game rather than making it look like GameFreak wants to make money out of you
@@jadentran9895 "you get this goody if you have a safe file for game x" is not really new nor that drastic, you dont have to own the game, getting a save file can be done in many ways, hassle free if you have a friend who owns the game phiscally to use slot it in for 5 min. + even if its late to get, trading does exist
@@jadentran9895 Would you rather it be microtransactions or paid DLC for one pokemon? At least this way you have another game that you've likely already played.
@@Spallboyyou still have to borrow or buy bd or sp regardless. I probably will get the pre owned bd or sp game ay gamestop and then return it after I have a save file
I feel like a little kid again. I was under my covers (it’s winter) playing this game all night. Brought old memories back when I was doing the same thing playing Pokémon crystal on a school night lol
Same man, being 22 this the first Pokémon game I am playing since Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, and this one recaptures that nostalgia for me with its innovation and same turn based formula, I love it! Especially since it’s literally set in my favourite region with my favourite legandaties
Oh my goodness, having a library of moves to swap in is a total game changer! No more worries for those of us who are indecisive! Honestly, I've not been more excited about Pokémon than I have been for HGSS and Pokémon Go when I found a group to raid with!
And no more having to pick and choose your offensive over defensive moves. In most pokemon games, I tend to go pure offense to get my opponents fainted fast, now I can relax and try out a variety of combinations!
Literally one of my favorite things in the game, being able to swap up my moves without TMs, TRs, and move tutors constantly is thee greatest quality of life change in the game.
I’m playing it now and really excited about where the Pokemon games are going. Having your Pokemon be able to follow you would be be a personal request.
@@HolyFrijolesVR that’s the stupidest reason ever to not have a Pokémon follow you. I completely disagree. Having the first Pokémon in your party be able to follow you would take nothing away from the story. Your supposed to be this amazing trainer so it’s not that hard to believe that your Pokémon might like to stretch there legs and walk with you.
I haven’t played but from what I’ve seen the quests make you catch multiples of a Pokémon. You just go up to a group and throw one pokeball at each bidoof for example and you catch all of em, makes them seem like items and less creatures and seems cheap that you don’t even fight them
@@colbyjackcheeser don’t judge before you play. you can’t spam poke balls at every pokémon. bidoof are just weak so they get caught easily. other pokémon will fight back or will not get caught with the pokeball unless you fight
I've only played 5 hours so far but it definitely feels like the shot in the arm this franchise needed. It's just a shame Game Freak cut corners in the graphical department because the amount of pop in is crazy.
this game isn't perfect but my god i love where they're going with this new dynamic. i hope to see more games like this, with improvements and new ideas. step in the right direction, Gamefreak
What if pokemon is trying to show how we can be better for our own species, not for our own well being, but be in gratitude for those we love, fish, aviary, and extinct to prevent...
I grew up playing Pokémon Red, Blue and Yellow. It's been a long time since I've played a new Pokemon game (maybe 15 years). I recently bought a Switch just to play Arceus. I'm enjoying the hell out of it. The story is really lacking, or maybe I'm just less patient than I used to be. But fighting, discovering, developing, organizing and strategizing has never been more fun.
Sadly, there are many rumors that pokemon scarlet and pokemon violet are going to be more "traditional". Basically having to battle the pokemon in order to catch them. I think with Arceus, the catching mechanics and gameplay overall took a giant leap in a better direction, so I hope those rumors aren't true
Outside some of the graphical issues this game looks great. I'd love to see the main games implement a lot of the systems introduced here because it would be incredible
outside? thats supposed to be half of the gameplay and it looks absolutely abysmal? Why the fuck would I want to do these repetitive missions if theres absolutely no pooint to the game being open world?
The starters won't show up in distortions until post game as well. Holding on to about 10 Stardust should be enough for trying to collect shards to make into star pieces. Selling excess can help with money. The final choice only determines who's gonna be walking around and talking with you for that chapter of the game as well as whether you get Dialga or Palkia in a special ball, you will have access to both through normal play. Whoever you choose will give you access to their respective deity and you can catch them in whatever ball you have available, the other will be caught in the aforementioned special ball during a story scene. You will also be able to get both origin forms by doing the side quests.
You shouldn't, nothing worse then channels rushing to put out videos on a game without playing it enough, I never trust their tips when it comes to selling or crafting anything because in a lot of their videos the tips have been bad, just one example is the Assassins Creed Valhalla video like this.
You can get both of origin forms of Palkia and Dialga no matter what choice you make. The choice decides which one you fight for the final battle before the post game content and also which one goes into the origin ball. If you want Dialga in the origin ball pick the pearl clan and if you want Palkia in the origin ball pick the diamond clan (yes I realize that it seems weird because that is the opposite of what you would expect but there is a reason for it but I don't want to give away any spoilers for those who may not want them). You get side quests from both the clan leaders in their respective camps to battle them one more time in the post game and the reward is the item to change both Palkia and Dialga into their origin forms.
just want to add,.The only difference is who gets to be caught in the origin ball....so if you care about what the pokeball looks like, its something to consider.
Is there any way to not use the origin ball on the latter legendary. People in different online forums told me pick the clan of the one i like more because its gonna get a special ball. But now im stuck at palkia and i dont wanna use the ball on him i wanted it for Dialga. So is there a way to save it for post game legends or am I screwed into using it on one i dont like because I listened to someone on the internet
I gotta say, I love the move library effect. I played through using a very powerful alpha steelix and being able to switch between ice/fire/thunder fang made it much more bearable!
One other thing I don't think you mentioned, release your excess pokémon. Go to the pasture and release them, you get grit dust and other things. You can release several at one time and you don't need 20 copies of the same pokémon any way
@@TheSugaroreo The woman by the pastures will let you know about it. I can't exactly remember at what point she tells you this though. After she explains it you need to press X at the pastures to release multiple pokemon.
This game really surprised me. Like, seriously. I have a couple nitpicks, Like the graphics aren't at the best they could be, and I wish there was voice acting, but other than that this game was stunning. seeing actual personality and seeing the emotions on their face Is so cool to me, and the new Pokémon designs are freaking amazing. I'm only about 4 hours In, but I'm enjoying this game more than any other Pokémon Game I've played.
@@ThePhOeNiX86 well, I meant more for the characters, And I've always wanted them to go back to the original Pokémon cries anyways. I feel Like it wouldn't feel like Pokémon if every line was voice acted, But I mostly wanted it for the cutscenes. Although, the cutscenes didn't have much dialogue anyways, It was always just something I wanted for a while, But I don't think It would fit the game very well.
So I was skeptical I would enjoy this because other pre release reviews were so bad, but it turns out there's actually a lot of effort put into this game minus the graphical issues. The animations for the moves of the Pokemon are amazing and the whole gameplay loop is incredibly addictive and refreshing. It's not the coolest storyline but it's actually really interesting in parts so far, Almost reminds me of when I got and played Pokemon emerald for the first time. Definitely a winning idea in my mind even though I was heavily skeptical, glad I caved in and bought it.
The problem with these games is how easy they are. It seems interesting at first, but it's boring because its the same repetitive gameplay for 30 hours. I really question where you're seeing the effort
J S theres something special to pokemon fans about “catching them all” , and in a whole new world to explore, with a new gameplay system, is very refreshing. also making the pokedex harder to complete is something that gives many joy for hours
@@conedx Where is the effort relative to the other best games? Keep in mind that Pokemon is the most profitable IP in gaming before you answer But yes, lack of difficulty and options for it show a lack of effort across all Pokemon games. I don't know why you would argue this point that exists in almost every game. Add easy, normal and hard mode
To be a little more clear on the distortions without massively spoiling, they start coming into play pretty much at the start of the second map I believe. I don’t remember doing any quests beyond setting up a camp, yet I started running into them. (Granted, they spawned in, shall we say, an inaccessible area, so that pissed me off)
The "decision" you have to make between the Diamond/Pearl clans near the end of the main game is ACTUALLY MEANINGLESS (aside from the order you face them) because you get BOTH Legendaries in the end, and you get their respective items in the Post-game that will allow them to take on their Origin forms, respectively.
There are people that like to get certain Pokémon in particular Poké Balls so they're probably thankful for the knowledge. It bothers me that you can't veto the Origin Ball entirely but... I can let it off for a satisfying story resolution.
Except you actually get to catch the Pokemon. They did a great job with this game, graphics and world design could be better but it's excellent otherwise.
Something to note is alphas don't actually have better stats per sey. A normal and alpha base stats will be the same at the same level. The only thing an alpha has over normal is visual and access to moves earlier.
@@JohnDoe-zh6cp Arceues doesn't have IVs They have EVs and alphas tend to have higher EVs when caught but a non alpha and alpha with the same level EVs (Which is easy with grit) will have the same stats. No go on the red eyes. They're just double the size. When I realised this I stopped catching many alphas. Prefer a pikachu smaller than me than the size of a bear lol So I see it as being good really or you'll feel forced to collect alphas.
You can get every form of every Pokemon. The only thing that matters in terms of picking which clan leader is which legendary you take into the fight. So using Palkia against Dialga or vice versa.
Not going to lie, I'm on the fence to buy this one and I was actually waiting/hoping for a "before you buy" video from you guys, but this will work too 😅 I really like your review videos
I’ve only played for maybe an hour so far, the graphics aren’t very polished and sometimes there’s a frame rate drop randomly, but gameplay is great, if you love Pokémon then I think you’ll love this new experience, just buy it when you can find it cheaper imo if can’t justify the current price
The endless hand holding and none stop dialog is a huge turnoff. The npcs need to go get mawled by a Pokémon and never come back. I legit get posse doff when in endless dialog scenes. You finish the npc walks away yay I cna play now.... Nope some more asshole npcs walk up an talk to you for 5 minutes. It happens like 80 times. A fucking troll it is..
Excellent video! And extra thanks for making the spoiler alert and revealing the spoiler stuff at the end. It is so nice to be able to watch these types of videos without getting suprise spoilers.
11:33 That choice doesn't matter, you can catch both Palkia and Dialga no matter what character you chose as a follower. You can also get both Origin Forms.
Getting gyms and dungeons in the next game, having a ff7 remake type of live action mode for Pokémon battles or choice of passive mode like in ff7 remake that is more traditional to most Pokémon games, creating a way better textured, more lively and interesting map would make what they did with this game perfect.
I agree about the battle system similar to FF7 remake.. but it will get controversial... some will say GF are just copying other games and doesnt have any idea of their own... if theres a battle system that I want its the NI NO KUNI GAMES... POKEMON could hire LEVEL 5 devs to make GEN 9... theyre also good at optimizing with cell shading...
Great video, but it doesn’t really matter who you pick to go with you since you get both palkia and dialga either way. And in the post game you can get a key item that lets you change their forms. So pick whoever you want
This game is amazing and i really really hope it stays how it is. Maybe even a co-op mode so we xan run around with our friends. I mean ive been wanting a game like this for years. I just wish my girl and i can explore together and do things. Maybe having an open world map woth diffrent cities and gyms and such.
You can get both new forms by speaking to the clan leaders at both settlements in the post game after battling them they will give you the items to change them
it does not matter which clan you choose and so the origin forms do not matter, you get both forms for both pokemon. i have both dialga and palkia and they both have origin forms because of the adamant crystal and lustrous orb. 146 hours in, i've completed the game and am working on completing perfect dex entries while hunting shinies and alphas.
just started playing it yesterday (Pre-ordered the day before it released actually), and it’s so different but so good so far. i’m excited to meet my fav Pokémon: Zoroark… in its Hisui form ofc:)!!
Personally I believe the easier way to get money is the mass outbreak method catch all of the Pokémon that spawn report your progress to the professor which gets you money to begin with. Jet balls late game are overpowered then after a few outbreaks release all the Pokémon you caught and sell all of the grit items you get. You will make a ton of money and be able to shiny hunt at the same time. It knocks out so many things at one time including completing Pokédex entries
I went into a time space rift and there was a alpha yanmega and right on the outside was a alpha vespiquen, alphas are a bit tough but after a while they get easy to catch, Ive just reached the third area and I have caught 18 so far
To me the research to me is fun as hell it’s the main thing I’m loving so far just been playing it non stop and the story is as good as gen 4/5 this Pokémon is so good it’s hard to explain you just have to play it
5:50 Alphas do start spawning after the story event in the area has been completed. This is confirmed. Story Alphas, those scripted to appear, are there at the start. Other Alphas will randomly spawn after completion. This means, beat the first area story and the Buizel you need can be caught as an Alpha. A little tip I got from John Plays.
I just ran around and cought every buizel I saw. At the end I had 3 that where able to complete the quest. I need to catch them anyway, because I want to make a perfect Pokédex. :)
@@KarlaO711 This is a good strat for every level, but the Alphas are ALWAYS bigger so that's just an extra guarantee without having to check. That's what I was getting at. I got lucky and an Alpha randomly spawned the fifth time I went into the area.
I found an alpha Buizel and also a 2ft8 Buizel which I gave away then realised they are very rare, then another alpha Buizel came out but I accidentally released that one 🤔 still have the first one though.
I pre-ordered this game and I'm loving the changes so far granted I'm still early in the game like 10 hours in but that said most of it has been just running around exploring/gathering/catching
I’ve seen people talk about how this game has flaws or isn’t perfect, but what game is perfect? I absolutely love this game, it has brought me back to the franchise after getting bored of Pokémon over the years. I hope the next game advances everything new here and advance the graphics
I've been out on Pokemon for a while, mostly because of the hand holding. Picked this game up today because it looked awesome. Haven't gotten through the tutorial yet. Really hoping they tone back the hand holding lol
I've been playing Pokemon since day one with Blue and I've never been able to evolve Pokemon by trading. I'm so glad we don't have to do trade evolutions
I did some research and found out you can change both of the forms for the legends Palkia and Dialga with items you can get in game for both so it seems like it doesn’t fully matter which you pick
you also can catch both. So this part wasn't true at the end. It only matters if you want a specific Pokémon in the special red ball (reminds me of a cherrish ball and may be the origin of it [nice detail at Game Freak's part :)]) then you have to choose which one you want to fight later.
I have found three shinies in a couple of days just casually going to outbreaks. It's amazing. I haven't caught this many shinies in the entire time I've been playing pokemon since 1998
Underrated money-making method: Catching then Releasing an Alpha Pokémon gives you a Grit Rock, which can be sold for £3000. Go to Obsidian Fieldlands, and farm up the easy to catch Alphas such as Staravia, Bibarel, etc. and then release them all. I did this once and got a box of 30 Alphas, spent around £20,000 on resources, but got back £90,000 in Grit Rock alone, not counting the money you get for the catch and any dropped items.
I feel like this the new standard for Pokemon games. There's no going back, some improvements and this franchise could see a breath of new life for years to come
I appreciate all the content before the spoilers Falcon! Makes me want to try out Pokemon again and finally put my brothers Switch to use. Before Elden Ring Takes over my Life!
Personally i’m pretty easy to please when it comes to Pokémon games. When it came to 3D though, I really started falling out of love with the series, which sucks because I adored Gen 5. I feel like this game is a great leap forward into getting people back into the series, after the monotonous recent entries. ORAS was good though lmao
Given how you don't need to engage Pokemon individually, and how easily the game lets you know a shiny is nearby, shiny hunting feels like such a breeze in this game without feeling stale. I caught 3 different wild shinies in one day (that's without the shiny charm), crazy
I will be picking this up tomorrow. I been looking for a zelda like pokemon. I like the old school play but this new school version with 3d looks amazing. Been about 10 years since I played one and I think this is the best over scarlet and violet. My opinion cause I'm not a expert at pokemon games but this one appeal to me. Thanks for vid
This game is truly an evolution of the franchise. Not an amazing looking or well written game by ANY means, BUT, it's fun and worth trying for the gameplay alone. And if you played and enjoy this installment of Pokemon, I hear Monster Hunter has an installment very similar to this game that is much better. Something worth checking out.
The fastest I ever got a shiny was playing soul silver for the first time in 2011 and chikoritawas shiny in the starter select screen, but I didn’t know what shinies were and traded it to my friend.
Thank you for making this. I didn't watch the spoiler at the end but I'm excited to finish the game. I just unlocked the distortions. Have fun everyone.
one thing to add, in the end it doesn't matter what clan you pick at the end you will get both legendary pokemon, and in the post game there are 2 missions that get you items that will transform them into different forms, so you can get them all,
#6 is what I always wanted in pokemon. It was always a pain trying to decide what moves I should keep and get rid of but now you can switch them all at will.
Oh yeah the move system caught me off guard for so long.... I kept using the first 4 moves on all my pokemon until the mid30s because i forgot about the move swapping. Switching my Espeon from Confusion to Psychic....such a damage boost lol
for a franchise that has made $109billion its sad to see some areas look unpolished. BUT HOLY HELL BESIDES THAT THE REST IS SOSO SO SO GOOOOOOD Ive been hooked and its been since platinum since a pokemon has hooked me this hard. i cant wait to see if they announce DLC and hope we get a sequel in the same gameplay loop style cuz it works so well.
It does look like great gameplay! Quite close to what I wanted 10 years ago! I think we can hope for more in future, but I'm pleased that's it's a huge step away from the norm and towards my dreams.
Love your stuff Falcon! Thanks very much for the spoiler warning too. Im like 10+ hours in already to this pretty spectacular game. Been relaxing in the first area, exploring the map, doing all the things we dreamed of doing in a Pokemon game as kids.. just unlocked the 2nd area and didn't realize there was still so much to see!
Yea I'm 33 years old and having that same experience. I been waitin on this since I got my first gameboy. I remember first playing pokemon and was like "wtf is this"
Idk if someone said this already but you can get both Dialog and Palin's origin formes post game by battling adaman at the diamond clan settlement near one of the lakes and same for Irida at the pearl clan settlement
I always dreamt as a kid playing Pokemon Yellow on my Gameboy about how cool it'll be to play Pokemon in 3D and first person. Looks like they nailed it. Need to get me a Switch now.
Same here. Grew up on Ruby/Sapphire more so than Blue/Red but I remember playing Yellow later on and being like what pilau I is following me?? Awesome. This game is the only reason I dropped $300 on a switch and I regret nothing
