If anything he gets more violent without them, like Wesker They only take off the glasses to do some crazy shit, which is less damaging but 75% more painful With glasses on, fights end faster because the lower effort attacks do more damage
@@carbinecryo30716 this works well in a fight too, not seeing when Blade blinks and where was his eyes averted to should at bare minimum made him near impossible to read/telegraph.
@@MegaCrocosaurus92 Yeah but cmon now..The tone Wesley set for Blade is immense...The cadence and the style are just next level...Plus he has a huge martial arts background... They are colossal shoes to fill...
Blade’s strained expression as he makes sure that Reinhardt is making eye contact; the glass floor shattering, shot from below; Blade popping up instantly after. Perfection.
@@kallemetsahalme5701 I hope they have the recognizement what their deserves for his long trayectory on the new film of Dr Strange: The Multiverse of Madness. As well as Nicolas Cage too. The posibilities are infinite. :') PD. Please Marvel, don't screw up. 😣
And yes, definitely they should be to lead at the new squad of superheroes on future projects. That was a dream come true, but with the Spiderverse, everything is possible at this moment.
That shot of him slamming the last goon and immediately shooting up in the next shot is a great bit of subtle visual comedy that i wish i saw in more movies nowadays
I love how Marvel had the perfect formula for R rated comic book movies with Blade 1 and 2 and nobody ever acknowledges it saying Deadpool did it first, Blade is the reason there even IS an MCU, look it up...
LegionDaGhost No...Iron Man is the reason there's an MCU. I get that Blade was one of the few successful comic book movies at the time and the first successful Marvel movie that paved the way for some of the later ones, but to go as far as to say it's responsible for the MCU is exaggerating and undermining the success of Iron Man.
It is a matter of people getting softer. That is why Deadpool is treated as such. Don't get me wrong, Blade was very impressive (a bit too much at times) but the best. And I had no idea that this was a comic book character. Like Constantine from DC, I didn't think magic was a part of superhero movies. I was young at the time.
SlasherIncorporated No, I think there was a video on it but Marvel was literally bankrupt during this time. Why do you think they had to whore off Spider-Man, the X-Men, and the Fantastic Four off to Fox and Sony? Blade basically saved them from bankruptcy. I’ll try to find the video
The only reason I'm here for this video, is to cherish every darker and brutal moment of the Marvel comics before its MCU transition. In my dictionary, The Punisher and Blade will always be above all heroes in this universe. Period.
Man this bought back memories watching this movie. Wesley played the hell out of this role. Hard to envision someone else playing Blade, so the next guy has some shoes to fill here.
Also, after years of disastrous straight to video Marvel movies, Blade and the X-Men proved to Marvel that strongly done comic book franchise movies could generate strong interest in the fan base. The MCU would not exist without these movies having paved the way with their success.
I love this rivalry. This guy is not even worth the gum on Blade's shoe and he seriously thinks he has a chance the entire time up until the moment he gets killed.
I definitely believe Reinhardt himself was in on the reaper experiment but clearly acting against Damaskinos's orders to bring Blade back alive by trying to kill Blade and get Blade killed. Likely Reinhardt was allowed to be in on the reaper experiment because he was the leader of the Bloodpack and also Damaskinos's henchman. Reinhardt was just a white supremacist vampire that despised Blade the most and more so after Blade punked him in front of his own team. Reinhardt just couldn't take a hint. I'm sure had chupa, Reinhardt's closest friend on the team would've survived until the end Chupa would've wanted to kill Damaskinos after learning the truth and because the reapers killed Priest. No doubt, as close as they were, Reinhardt would've betrayed Chupa as well and allowed Damaskinos's familiars to kill Chupa or even helped. Reinhardt's loyalty was strictly to Damaskinos. Not the team itself.
@@ZtgWolf1354 Disney intentionally went out of their way to ruin the choice and confuse everyone seeing how the new blade actor already plays a character in that Luke Cage show
Blade 2 really shook up the old tired vampire genre. An enemy that vampires are afraid of, now they are the hunted. btw matrix was rated ? wtf theres nothing in there super gory?
@@aw5537 The matrix has its moments forsure, Neo getting bugged is pretty gross, mouse gets slaughtered as does dozer, cypher, and neo. Morpheus being torutred, and brutal ass whoopin in the bathroom. well deserved "R" rating forsure.
My all time favorite series are: Blade, Rush Hour, The Matrix, and Mortal Combat. I know they’re old, but I’ve watched them all hundreds of times growing up, lol.
@@xomegaxz5799 Blade Trinity was all the producers' faults because they kept Snipes out of decision making processes, rushed production, the script sucked, fight scenes were rushed and horribly choreographed and the execution was awful, not to mention all the additional characters, most of which served no purpose or were just laughably bad like Triple H and Ryan Reynolds.
@@y2k704 that would be sick, and an added bonus would be them saying another dimension's Blade is played by Micheal Jai White, that would blow my mind!!!...
@@terriblej6107 yep, its weird. As i heard, Del Toro wanted to use more CGI effects on this movie than the first. Some fight scenes looks bad cause of that. Love this film anyways.
@Neil Hood I didn't know that! BUT: Blade was on screen before BP nonetheless. What bothers me is how they made Black Panther so prominent only because the movie features mostly black people, while Blade was there already. How is a movie with many black people in leading roles more "important" than one with a single black hero? That's what annoys me and that is also, what the original poster was going for, I think! :)
MindsOfConflict MOC Yeah because blade was a great black superhero wow black panther being in a movie with mostly black actors when it’s a movie based in Africa is super Duper awesome
Jackman wasn't digitally altered to be 5 foot 3 inches tall, and he screamed too much.. and the worst part was he didn't even wear the correct suit.. Just imagine watching a Spider-Man movie where he doesn't suit up in the entire franchise of films or if Batman from the Dark Knight didn't wear the suit in all 3 films.. yh I was disappointed.. Jackman really should have pressured the Movie makers for him to at least put on the X-Force (Black/Grey) Suit.
I just watched Blade 2 again, dem I cant believe how good this movie still is in 2022 compared to other Marvel movies these days. This movie will always stay a masterpiece. no matter how cool you think cap, spiderman or deadpool is no marvel character comes close to the coolness swag of blade :)
@@Half-Vampireidk about that there's always been corny jokes in any marvel movies blade included more so in blade 1 but yeah still definitely corny jokes that's part of the marvel brand always has been
He's actually doing a decent job of moving around the arena, they'd struggle to keep up with him. There's that video of a guy in Turkey beating up a group of people by constantly moving so it's only ever 1v1... it works!
@editing, shot selection & framing could definitely be better, but Donnie Yen choreographed the fights so the martial arts represented definitely fit & compliment Blade so well.
Why did black panther get the "First black Superhero Respect" when Blade existed? (Edit: 2k likes thanks, apprently a lot of people can remember equal representation before it was shoved down our throats) (3k Edit shoot I've never had a comment generate so much simple attention. 4k edit: okay getting out of hand. Like any debate with morons. )
Yes, blade started it all, then xmen help every studio realiaed that other comic book characters can carry thier movies, spider man. Before these movies only bankable box office characters were superman and batman.
@@jdrs4214 I think he’s too old for any role unless you want to see an old blade that can still fight, but is training the new young blade. That would be a good movie to watch, but blade doesn’t really have much left in him after this film.
@blacksheepdemolitioncrew we can only hold on to good memories but we have to have new good memories but eventually we realize certain childhood heroes are the true OG's have a new perspective on life and our idols passing on the torch to the next generation! It hurts my heart that we can't wind back the clocks
I miss the Blade movies so much and i would pay anything to see a Blade 4 :) ! Wesley Snipes is just badass as Blade and Ron Perlman was great in Blade 2 as well :)
I love this vampire movie because of blades costume, the techno music you rarely hear in films but it matches with the fights in blade. I also love the graphics it’s so good considering it’s a 90s/early 00sfilm
I’ll never forget as a kid seeing this the 1st time and seeing this man fucking suplex a dude during a fight, that then and there was the moment he became my favorite and idol 😤😎
@@ma1evich I mean not really, Wesley is an actual martial artist, I love Keanu but you can tell he learned to fake being decent at fighting scenes, Wesley would look like 3 times better than him if they gave them Keanu's team of stunt men and choreographers
Isn't every film like that LOL. How many times has the super villain had James Bond in a bind and instead of finishing him starts to talk the spy to death. Its just the way
@@gantz22ify No...it' not enough. It's all about the bottom lines -- specifically how much the primary, secondary, etc businesses can make from the movie. If the filmmakers could skip paying Ron and Wesley and just use two minimum-wage food waiters (day job of most people trying to "make it") and sell just as many tickets (popcorn and diet soda), it would have been done.
cool thing about this scene as well, the fighting moves he is doing are really not all that flashy, or using a lot of special effects, he is just using straight forward stuff. That is why it looks so badass.
It's also why the camera doesn't cut away a bunch, like you see with a lot of other actors. Since he was trained in martial arts before he started the trilogy, he was able to do all the moves legit. You can really tell once he starts using the eletric batons - his moves are the hallmarks of a trained martial artist.
I'm pretty happy with the choice of actor to reboot the Blade films, from a dramatic standpoint he's got a resume that's hard to beat but..he's got huge shoes to fill when it comes to the marital arts talent that Wesley Snipes showcased in these films.
I'm still upset they aren't using Micheal Jai white. In comparison to him it's a stepdown especially when martial arts and stunt wise,he(like snipes) could do his own and is a real life martial artist.
love those jump cuts they do like he never fell on his back. camera pans back to em "what chu talkin bout i was already standing" or when he does the stupidest but coolest fist pump ever during the beginning lmao
