Learning how to do a basic blanket stitch is good to have in your knowledge toolbox. This simple stitch can be used on the edges of fabric, as a decorative stitch, or can hold two pieces of fabric together.
Try it yourself!
1. Thread a needle with a knot in one side, and pull the needle between two layers of fabric to hide the knot.
2. Pull the thread from back to the front, through the same spot.
3. Pull the needle through the loop and tighten.
4. Mark two lines on your finger, the width you want your stitches to be, as a guide.
5. Stitch from back to front, and pull through loop.
6. Repeat, pulling from back to front and though the loop until done.
