Just so everybody knows : 1) Using a flask by accident : get killed. It doesn’t affect the trophy. 2) The woman who heals you doesn’t affect the trophy. I get the feeling they buffed the bosses with the DLC because I just finished the game and all bosses deal way more damage than what I see here!
I used a flask by accident on the bridge right after defeating Esdras (i.e. on the same area where you fight him) and still got the trophy at the end of the game. I guess I was lucky because it seems that this trophy won't unlock when flasks are used inside a boss room or in any room next to it.
Esdras is a great fight for mobility, but I had a much harder (and more fun) time with Crisanta. Learning all the parry timings and having to be pretty much perfect with them was a chore but what a feeling of accomplishment once it is over!
He was hard at first for me but then I realised you can just stab spam and dodge with both limestone toes and he'll be unable to respond with anything that isn't very easy to avoid. Quirce was harder for me since you only get small attack windows on him and not always in the best location. He can also stunlock you if you fail to avoid one of his attacks, and he has the annoying flame pillars and sword.
Amazing how simple Crisanta, his Holiness last line of defence appears compared to Exposito and Quierce good job though, I would probably not even get past Our Lady of the charred visage without spamming bile flasks
I was looking for this achievement on youtube and came across a music piece. It felt like accidentally entering a church with my blasphemous outfit making sure to leave all bile flasks at home, and everyone in funeral looked at me awkwardly.. Ok, let's earn this achievement
@Mean Bob two weeks before i could win the Trophy Requiem Aeternam. I did what I said before. I study the enemies' movements, use so much parry and the aproppiate rosary beads with a elemental enemy (fire, magic, thunder, poison). Anyway, thanks for your answer. I'll use it for the dlc, because is more difficult. Ps: sorry for my english. It's not my native language.
#%&# I just did all the bosses with no flask and the trophy didn't pop :( I used up all flasks at prie deu before boss fights, which might have been the reason, so avoid doing that.
as far as i know you must only not use them in the same "room" as the boss, either before or after fighting them. having the flasks empty vs full should have no influence. but what do i know, i'm trying this achievement now and have seen so many theories and ideas...
Yeah, downing flasks at the Prie Dieu was indeed where you messed up. It not only cannot be in the same room as the boss(and that includes before, during and after fighting the boss), but it also cannot be done in the Prie Dieu room immediately before the boss.
Not really that difficult once you get used to the attack patterns of every boss and equip the protective rosary beads for each one. I've found myself not even bothering to use bile flasks in the midgame because of how little health they restore compared to how much time you have to spend healing. You'll be in danger of recieving an attack which does more damage than you heal anyway. So it's better to focus on dealing as much damage in as little of a time window as possible to avoid exhausting your HP.
Anyone one knows what if you healed accidentally and just let the boss kill you and try it again without using flask, can you get the trophy or the heal mistake will corrupt the whole run?
Fuck knows, everyone has a different answer. I've just done a fresh game, then straight to new + with penitent mode, then another new + with a a different penitence mode, and in every playthrough I beat every boss without flasks even dlc bosses and it still didn't work 🤣 My entire second playthrough was with that sword heart that disables flasks. Only thing I haven't tried now is walking into every boss with full flasks instead of disabled or none. Also I didn't use the healer girl for bosses but apparently it's okay to use her.

I heard she does count as a boss, just don't heal while fighting her to be sure. Trophy can be earned either on NG or NG+, at least on PS4 with the game updated.
I’ve defeated every boss without using a bile flask except the final boss (I accidentally used a bile flask) If I start a new game on a different save slot can I use a bile flask on the bosses I’ve already defeated without using a bile frask? Or do I need to defeat the bosses again without using them?
I didn't know that using Heart of the Holy Purge may be problem for this trophy and I just found it near the end of the game... Can someone please tell me if it really blocks the trophy?
@@BPalomar Fuck twice, I'm sorry to hear that cuz I get the platinum right now I replyed to u and went to kill the last boss and the trophy pop up I think the reason is u used flask in pervious room before the boss or in the same room of boss after u deafeted or in the next room after u deafeted, if u did one of them the trophy will not count
