This is perhaps the best podcast you've done. Aik tou this topic is such a landmine in the mainstream, so I was really looking forward to how this conversation will be had. Was not expecting how thorough this discussion was, a result of which is now I feel like I have some idea on how to approach this topic with friends, with research, etc. LOTS of material to reflect on. Maza aagaya sunn ke!

A very well-presented and highly intellectual discussion. Highly appreciative of the intellect and depth of the guest speaker...would definitely like to hear his views (especially deliverance of his viewpoint) on other topics as well. Credit is also due to the host for making all this happen. Would like to highlight the quote "To allow infinite meanings to hold someone as "Gustaakh" and to allow only one meaning to be depictive of "Ishq" says it all.

I watched the video stream of Youth Club on the same topic and they were very hesitant to talk about and even negated the multitude of assassinations and the gravity of it's iniquity, stemmed from such a law. They simply aimed to rationalize the death penalty if such an event took place. But it's important to discuss the weapon-ization of such a law which has caused so much disorder, nuisance, mischief, corruption within the land, and much of it is caused by the weak design of the law. This is most definitely the best video on the topic from a traditional perspectives, that is helpful because it attempts to debunk the subject from it's own lens and principles rather than an external secular perspective which is much more problematic as it only exacerbates the situation.
@fatimaasif3622
@fatimaasif3622 2 года назад
Youth club is shit, the mullahs there pretend to be different than their regular counterparts on the streets through their western attire and stuff but in reality they share the same problematic beliefs with the likes of TLP etc. That Zia guy even justifies domestic violence by saying that a man can discipline his wife through violence when she disobeys him. Moreover he made a video in support of the the TLP the last time those guys took the roads.
@immasavagebro2845

@@fatimaasif3622 exactly. Took the words right out of my mouth. They look a little urban and speak some English here and there, so people pretend they are speaking something of value. But they perpetuate the culture of misogyny and bigotry through their apologetics. I saw a video of theirs about ahmadis when atif mian had resigned. And the lies about history and their unempathetic ignorance on the ground realities of minorities is sad and angering. One of them also commented on the "Mob mentality" of a progressive student protest and that was so laughable and appalling. All they do is turn a blind eye to actual Mob violence and rationalise it when they do look at it and they go on to make fantasies of the bogeyman that are liberalzz and leftists to make them feel better, as if they are the innocent ones. They're terribly dumb and uninteresting as well.

Was really looking for some deep diving into the roots for this Insanity for "love for the prophet", The fact that why is this trait exclusive to Barelvi school of thought only, While wahabis (even though how extreme they be) are not forefront of it, I think these discussions do lead us to identify the real cause

The Ilam Din affair in the 1920s rose out of the printing of an anonymously written booklet titled 'Rangeela Rasul'. The booklet lists portions of the Qur'an and Hadith regarding the female partners of the prophet and comments on them with a humorous tone. The book is actually well researched and written by a talented hand.

Reading the Quran and Hadith is banned for non-Muslims. What happened because of Printing press, some Hindus start reading Quran and Hadith and find out that Muslims are doing Taquiyya about the morality of Muhammed. Books were also written for non-Muslims and to learn about marriages of Muhammed. In 2005, to a Muslim family who used to live in Pali Hill (Bandra - Mumbai), I told them that Muhammed had multiple wives and slaves - they got furious that I get to know a secret from the Internet and they kept insisting that Muhammed had only 4 wives.
@dakansen5613
@dakansen5613 4 года назад
@@vinamrasinghai2339 Interesting. Also, in addition to the speaker's point about the printing press, I would add that an explosion of interest occurs only when a claim is made to exceptionalism. While printed Islamic texts existed for over a century, it was only after 9/11 that Americans started looking at what was in them. Today, US and European content makers dominate secular discussions on the ethical issues in Islam.
@dakansen5613
@dakansen5613 4 года назад
@@teetamalangi635 The publisher of the booklet was murdered by Ilam Din, Ilam Din was hung to death, and blasphemy laws came into effect in the subcontinent for the first time. Just in case there are readers who are wondering what transpired after the printing of 'Rangeela Rasul.'
