Hi man, been watching your videos and youve inspired me to go ahead and start my journey with natural locs, im caucasian with long hair ready to go haha, im new to all this, so still learning, just wondering will me putting my hair into a top bun during work stop my hair from locking ect, i have stopped using shampoo and brushing it out, just wondering if putting it in a rishi knot will affect the locking process, thanks for your videos and the inspiration, i was skeptical of doing this but im not now, this is the natural way, your view on the natural process i aggree so much, i thought about the unnatural way of getting locs but now i feel id be cheating lol, so doing the natural way 😊 hope you are well brother ✌️
You should still keep your hair clean, A) just for basic hygienic reasons but also B) because greasy hair will not know because the knots will slip apart. Switch to a residue free shampoo. You can put your hair in a tam (a type of hat) which would tangle up your hair and you can then separate things out into the individual locs. It's like the wool rub method of loc forming but more passive which I hope could meet your criteria for natural formation. May your journey be rewarding!
