I'm so sorry to hear you too are going through this. I'm not sure about the prognosis for vision return. I have heard of one dog that went blind from blastomycosis but still runs in the woods with its owner daily. They Can adapt really well if it doesn't come back. Sending good wishes.

Wondering too if there will be a prevention in future. Alot of lab research going on. This particular fungai that causes blastomycosis is what breaks down wet rotting wood & leaves, & then it's respirated spores can have a devastating impact on other organisms when it converts to a form of bad yeast. Other forms have positive effects, like red yeast rice that lowers cholersterol, yeast in lacto-fermented probiotic pickling, sourdough bread boost immune system. Then there are some good medicinal mushroom fungai, even the mycelium connecting networks between fungal fruiting bodies & trees have been grown, pressed & dried into 'somewhat' mold resistant, fire resistant building blocks! I suggest we all stick to dry land, will too ( & avoid stagnant, oxygen deprived warming lakes)- blue green algae to watch out for too! Happy for Royce's recovery, harrowing! May he & you Jen, stay resistant! Kudos! Lobby to lower carbon footprint, rising temperatures all!

Thanks! The fungus is microscopic and inhaled so that wouldn't work . I wish there was an easy solution.

I'm so sorry to hear this. You will never know, that's the hard part. There is hope. Take all the meds as prescribed and do all the at home nursing care you can. It's a long road. I feel for you.

​@@TheWildYamThank you. He's been on Flucanazole for over a week. He stopped eating his favorite kibble so I've been giving him quality canned food. I can't seem to get his weight back up, but he's enjoying his toys and his eyes still seem normal. I hope your pup is still doing great. ❤

@@orangehorse5037 I had to feed cooked raw diet for him to eat anything. It took a few weeks to get him eating better. He was on appetite stimulants as well. The weight will come back with treatment. So far so good for my guy. Negative since last July.
