It's likely because Blake and Yang were originally meant to be in the Starting roster, but yeah, if they weren't rushing the game they would've already be in.

Alexfang a. The dlc isn't super bad. 40 characters for 10 dollars over a full price so imo it is fine. B. There is a demo you can download right now and try it out for yourself, if you like it pick it up. C. Find me so I can beat you up with toon link and link like the good old days lol

Not saying this is super great or anything, maybe they couldn't afford a better animation studio cause some parts aren't really animated that well, I mean it's pretty difficult making a crossover fighting game especially if you got atlus and Sega on board (Sega is a real money hore and atlus loves milking every single dollar out of persona 4) so I guess with all these licenses this is what they could afford? but I will say, that this opening is really really neat to watch, I enjoyed it.
Now compare this to the animations of the openings in each most recent iteration of the series represented, and tell me you still think this holds up...

Blaze blue makes more money then the areana games it's most effective idea for the company that only makes fighting games (since fighting games genre is dying they need as many heavy hitters as they can)
It's Jacob Fighting games aren't dying. Dragon Ball FighterZ got 44,000 copies sold on steam alone, and just on day one. They only look like they're dying when you see trash like bbtag that nobody reasonably wants.

It's Jacob Just because they don't literally pull in the top numbers doesn't mean the entire genre is dying. They obviously pull in enough money for Capcom, SNK, Arc System Works, CC2, and many more to develop for it without going out of business.
That looks pretty good, but I can see why others hate it, because it does look a little wonky. I'm just a little angry at those people just because I'm a fan of RWBY, but even then, I have to say, the character design for them in this looks kinda... eh.

Skull Sniper I'm a veteran player and it does look like shit. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy simple games, but this is just going too far. Even Naruto Storm has more depth than this.
I’ve lost all of my hype for this sorry excuse for a fighting game the minute they added the disgusting Japanese voices for the RWBY characters and the even more disgusting English voices for the characters from the other 3 series! That and the fact that it’s a waste of money due to the DLC that cost a lot of money, they’re not free at all! You know which fighting games are better than this putrid fighting game? Dragon Ball FighterZ, SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy, and Super Smash Bros. Switch (even if SNK Heroines and Super Smash Bros. Switch are not released yet)! Expect the lower ratings for BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle, kiddies!
