A _lot_ of _Bleach_ 's early jokes actually have a ton of continuity with the rest of the story, Kubo foreshadowed a lot of stuff by hiding it as a punch line (or turned punch lines into actual plot points later on, I'm not sure which). Case in point, think about what Yachiru says at 7:22.
