Please remember these shorts aren't the abridged series. They're silly little videos done by Logan in his spare time. Nothing in them, including voices that differ from the abridged series, mean anything about the abridged series has changed. Yamamoto's old voice will remain the same as it ever was when he appears again in the abridged series,

I like the "None of these will be in the abridged series" which implies that you have a storyboard to Thousand Year Blood War while still having current content in Hueco Mundo. If only I could plan ahead so well.

I do get your line of reasoning, but the reality is, Genryuusai and Shuhei have lines of dialogue before TYBW, so the message from the Team, even if what you said ends up happening eventually, does not imply at all that they will reach that far into the series. It just points out that, considering there has been a long time before they released a new episode, these shorts sound so different from the main abridged series that it warrants a clarification that neither the direction or the cast has changed, so people should not worry.

Basically this. These are more useful and straight-forward if you don't try to connect them to the main show or worry that they mean people have been recast. Sometimes they'll sound like the abridged series and sometimes they won't. They might not even sound the same from one short to the next. That said, we do intend to eventually get to TWBY, and we have always had ideas and plans for it which we've slowly hinted at through the show. Though we're in no rush and want to enjoy where we are now~

Honestly, only occurred to me upon seeing the title of the irony there. The one with the power of Overkill was overkilled. Also, this would be Yamamoto's Second Genocide if you count the first war with the Quincies. Not a complete 100% Genocide but close enough. The attempt was made. Regardless, good to see he can appreciate a good pun, good to find small bits of situational enjoyment at his age

For the record, when Genryusai first got hit with that attack after Chojiro had only barely learned his Bankai it left a visible scar on his forehead. When Overkill used it, it tore up his clothes but do no visible damage.

Something that just came to mind: Driscal - no idea how to spell the guy - has the power of Overkill. An ability that powers him up the more he kills. He's already killed like 100 people at this point. Now, if that ability also happens to power up a certain stolen Bankai...
