I have natural blonde hair with platinum and pale in it. But ... How do you even get roots like that are black?? 😯 I'd be so scared if I had roots darker than barbie blonde I get when no sun is out
When you stop learning on the job, then it's time to retire. When you stop learning in life, then it's time to expire. I love how you are always striving to perfect your craft. 💇
I won’t claim to be better than my past colorists but I feel comfortable taking risks lightening my hair that my hair dressers would because I know my hair so well. People ask me to do their hair all the time hand I ALWAYS say no because I’m not a professional but I do tell them to go watch this channel!
You are doing a LOVELY job not with just your clients and the process but also the filming and the editing and all of it🙏 I just want to praise you for all that you are doing✨ great job keep it coming
Very obvious to me also, and as a client I would have been upset as this service is expensive, and for this 'professional' to have the opinion that it came out perfect and beautiful is disconcerting. Also, she had done her previous service so to have that much banding even though "it's in the back so she can't see it" (not until she wears her hair up and someone mentions noticing it) is a very sloppy unprofessional attitude.
Wow you just showed me the best life hack, I was scared to start at the top but I think my hair would also do better exactly the way you did hers, love this
Subscribing to your channel today! I have been doing hair for 13 years and learned I few new tricks for bleach outs. Which can definitely be tricky and require you to have to be meticulous, so I have always been hard on myself anytime I see imperfections in my color results. Can't wait to try these new tips next time. 😊
Hi! How long did you end up keeping the bleach in before washing and what toners did you use to make it that type of platinum? Thank you! (I like your videos more than anyone else because there is no nonsense involved.)
i accidentally overlapped and now have a thin little mohawk of breakage. so sad 😢 i should have slowed down and payed more attention. don’t rush people! if it takes you 3 days to do your roots it takes 3 days! don’t break your hair off like me
Thank you soo much for this tutorial, I'm level 3 of hair and all those things you said happens with dark hairs happened to me when applying bleach, the next week i have my root touch up, so I'll apply all your advices, I feel this time I will achieve like a level 8 in one session (almost always I just reach level 6-7 with 30 developer)
Not true. I always reach platinum after one bleach and I have thick middle eastern black hair. My stylist uses this exact technique to get me to platinum every time in one shot. He says it’s all in sectioning and making a fresh batch per section as you go.
Hi 👋 Bobby amazing video, I thought it was just my imagination about my wavy medium brown hair being easier to lighten in back. So I studied at a wonderful salon in high school and earned some credits. It’s no longer my job, BUT I cannot find a qualified stylist to bleach out my very long very strange hair. It’s level 7 and level 5 fine and course wavy and straight. I paid hundreds for orange w gray patches etc. i had one single stylist but she moved away. I’m forced to do my own hair, I’m sitting in a bleach cap right now. I’m slightly concerned I might lose my back hair so I uncovered it the top and crown is sitting at a horrid bright yellow dark 9 I have 20 minutes until and hour. I put fresh bleach on top wrapped it back up. I do know about fresh bleach. For my long difficult hair I have about four bowls and brushes ready. We all want to know the toner. I can’t find my match on toners. I like sping blossom ion but it’s too drying and should be used on dry hair very damaging. Wella does nothing for my hair except for 24 hours lol. I have been using a purple toning mask and leaving it on for a half hour. I’m not sure how or why but my hair is no responding the same as it used to . I suspect it’s hormonal. I also cannot bleach my hair on my period or it turns orange and won’t lift grosss but true. I am thinking about trying blonde me . I use ion coconut oil bleach powder because it’s so gently that if, I mean when, I overlap, I rarely lose my hair,. I doubt I could manage blonde me as well. I’ll post after and hour. I guess in worst case I rebleach my yellow to banana but I don’t know if my bleach is getting old? Could the powder that’s a year old stored in pretty non humid environment closed lose its efficacy? Idk. I can’t believe it’s only yellow. I did a one to one ration for the stubborn bang area. Not sure what else to try. Your videos are amazing. Not a professional stylist anymore just a customer who can’t find a professional colorist in her area. Thanks
I always start by asking the client if they want a cool, neutral or warm tone. Then I go from there! My base for a cool always includes a -1 or -9 My base for a neutral includes a -4 My base for a warm includes a -5 or -57
4:07 yes I have a lot more hair in the back than the front this last time I bleached the back did get more blonde than the rest especially at the two "corners" of my head as the hair overlaps there naturally if you don't foil which of course I didn't so for my roots I had already decided to try back first so it's nice to hear a professional's opinion about that process
This is so informative. Love this technique. Majority of my clients are a level 1 to 4. Yes it's so stressful. Lol..no matter how long you've been doing it.
Great tip in just the first 2 minutes! I had no idea that keeping formula fresh means it’s more powerful. That’s an excellent tip for ADHD adults who are prone to distractibility to. Only make what you’re going to use in a certain amount of time & maybe make more as needed? Thank you.
I got way too carried away with trying to highlight my hair so i have decided the only answer is to bleach my roots and go blonde. Im nervous but I'm ready, ive been using a deep conditioner from Olaplex and its kept my hair really strong.
If that girls hair had been very fragile it would have clean off from how much was overlapped. I know that bleach swells but that had bleach almost an inch past her roots
hi! i have a question: i have really dark/chestnut brown hair thats thin thats apparently hard to bleach? as in it takes long is what my colorist told me. i love platinum on myself but i dont have the time or the budget to get my roots done every 2 months. last time i got my hair re-bleached i grew it for 8-9 months so the length of my roots had grown down to my chin. while we were bleaching everything the point where the bleach lifted clashed with the pre bleached parts and my hair was breaking at those points for almost 4 months 😢 apart from that my roots took way longer to lighten so my colorist had to leave it in for long enough that my scalp was completely burnt. my roots were hard as a rock for a week before i could recover. my question is if this was a lesson for me to never grown my roots out for that long if i want to get a full bleach out? or if my colorist had done something wrong? is there another way to do this without breaking my hair and hurting me? thank you!
If you were in the US I’d 100% want to apprentice at your salon! Amazing service!! I saw your most recent video “I’m over it” no matter what your channel is Amazing & I appreciate what you do!
Question: great job by the way! … You know how you can tell there’s a different tone from the freshly bleached and the old, how would you go about fixing that
Wait.....well first, I love your video, it's very well done and I can tell know what you are doing. One thing. How come the finished project is showing yellows, platinum and almost light black roots underneath the platinum roots in the top? To me, this doesn't look even at all, several different colors? Is that the look she wanted?
how long did you leave the lightener on? i feel like my hair takes an hour+ to lift but i'm scared to leave it on that long so i just. have yellow bits in my hair haha :/
How much did you charge this service? And if you need to do one more apply lighter (long root always has yellow line so second work is necessary) How would you charge more when u need two apply lighter?
You did a great job. I agree bleach the dark root is quiet stressful. Thanks for your shared. Its really useful. I am a hair dresser but every time I did bleach the root especially with dark hair. My heart beating like a drum hehehe.
So when your root is the good small size, you don’t need to avoid the scalp upon application? You know when they say you need to go back at the end and make the bleach touch the scalp? I guess if it’s small enough a root you can touch scalp straight away?
ah i remember my white hair days, my exboss in our salon spent a few months getting me to lvl 11, since i have thin european but 3c curly lvl 6 hair, so it was a process. since i've been doing my own hair for years now, it's just pintura highlights or balayage, but i'm so scared of my curls snapping off that i never go above lvl 8. yes, it has happened before, so the paranoia is kinda validated and i always use blondme with 7volume and vibrance toners. hair still attached :) one thing i'll say is the techniques taught for highlighting hair are not generally aimed at curly haired people and since watching more tutorials aimed at natural haired women has helped a lot.
I feel like when ur bowls are too small I think u try to make it last longer and having to stop and mix that many times isn’t good when ur dealing with bleach ??? Is it?
Fresh bleach is always the way to go for a consistent lift! So if you have enough bleach in your bowl to last you longer than 20 minutes of application time, you've mixed too much!
I really liked this video clear, well spoken , I do have one question, she was pretty dark to begin with and you used 20vol , which in my brain a 2 Levels I’d lift why and how did you get her to a 10 . Seems like it was like 5 levels from a 10
Her hair is a Level 4-5 correct! What you’ve been taught about 20 volume, usually applies to lifting with permanent color. Although this is said to be a general rule I find that that is not the case. 20 volume with bleach will lift the capacity that it can. You can extend the lift of the bleach by mixing more regularly rather than using an old bowl, using fine sections, using foils to separate the hair and insulated, and mixing your ratios so that you have a Greek yoghurt like texture
I'm ok at doing my hair but my dark roots have grown out a bit and I can't remember if It's better to use a blue or purple on my roots. I'm a light blonde, almost platinum but I never am sure if I should use blue or violet. Please help
Blue cancels out Orange, Purple cancels out Yellow! It all depends on what your roots look like once they’re lightened! Typically we use purple to make a platinum
Thank you for that bit about dense hair lifting faster in the back as aposed to the front!!! 🤯 Love from Georgia 🍑 it looks beautiful!! Btw, how do you keep the hair from grabbing the violet in the shampoo?? I always get purple streaks....😒
Your videos are fantastic! I’m going to start implementing your “two stars and a wish”. What a great way to evaluate work without being too critical! I’ve been doing hair for ten years. I learn something new every time I watch your channel.
This is likely 5-7 weeks. 9 weeks is too long for this process but I do have a video for longer roots! How to: bleaching delayed roots - I think that’s what it’s called
Do you ever do full fouls for root touch up? My bleach stays on for like 2 hours but it never quite catches up to the pre lightened hair, also cuz that gets lighter because of swelling 🙈
My most recent video Is on how I use foils for longer roots! You might like that one? It can be so hard with stubborn hair that needs time to lift! Do you use Blondme for your touch up?
@@BobbyHairStudio I have actually just seen it will definitely give it a try! Yep I use Blondme and 7 vol usually, I recently tried the cool additive too, but I think next time I will try 1:1 Blondme and developer
I think the end result is stunning! I have never been able to understand why people who are naturally so dark want to go so blonde as the roots will come through pretty quickly.
I attempted this and now my hair is falling off 🫠 my hair is this light and my roots are like a level 2 . Sigh* and I just grew my hair back from being bald 😅 life and all it’s lessons
