Cosmetologist here. A 10 volume does the same as a 40. And everything in-between. BUT a 40 will obviously lift faster than a 10. But it's healthier to leave a 10 volume on for 1 hour than it is to leave a 40 volume on for 30 minutes to get the same level of blonde. 😅 So yes. If 20 volume is lifting a little to fast for you, and you'd like it a little healthier than use a 10 but keep it on for a little longer. I personally like to mix half of what I need with a lower volume than finish off with the volume up. So for you start with 10, then go to 20 volume. That way it'll lift more evenly and more so at the same time.😊
I’m also a cosmetologist, and I agree with everything you said. Bonus points if you use a plastic cap to keep the lightener from drying out when using 10 vol 😊
I was always wondering this. Is the developing time usually counted from the moment you start applying or from the moment you‘re finished? Because that makes a huge difference and no one seems to talk about it??
@Funkylanda it starts as soon as you lay bleach. I always start in the back for this reason. Sometimes I'll rinse the back of my client's hair but leave the front to process.
Honestly as another unstable person, you returning was a nice pull to reality (in other words, didn't feel that long. Girl, take your time, for people that matters this all channel and you, it doesn't matter if you take breaks. thank you for bringing peace and waves of energy and inspo to my mind
While I definitely thought some people in the comments of your last videos were overreacting, it is also nice to see you home. I hope you don’t feel you owe us anything. Your health and well-being should always come first. ❤ That said, I always enjoy your videos, and I will be here watching for as long as you choose to make them!
It looks lovely like this, but I’m still here to suggest the “sunset” colors, you can add blue and deep purple on the roots going to pink and then to orange! 💙💜🩷🧡
It took so long at the salon cuz they had to do the mids and then the roots so you would get an even lift. Also if you decide to use a lower developer, it will take so much longer to lift and probably wont lift as much as you want! Youre fast enough to keep using 20vol.
Lindyyyyy! 😊 So glad to have you back! I speak for a lot of people when I say we missed you. Thank you for entertaining us once again as well as for including your furbabies in your video, that was a pleasant surprise! Looking forward to your next video 🤗
i thought she moved to bali so i'm confused that she still had her apartment in the netherlands while being there? like isn't it expensive having to pay for two places at the same time🥲?
i’ve done hair for years and i think everyone should be able to do it themselves! also i hate that kind of salon that uses so many people and so much time and money and for nothing
The long proces and high price is not for nothing, there is a very good reason for that. Youre paying for a service, by trained professionals, who spent money and time on their education, who are paying for a location and products, and the longer process is bc theyre being much neater and caring and they use a lower developer bc it damages your hair less but it takes more time. Plus they apply in different layers bc they want an even finish, not a blotchy at home job a lot of ppl like more than two is unnecessary tho
OMG I SWEAR I was at the gym today and suddenly I was like "what happened to my baby girl Lindy?", so I came to youtube only to found out that you had returned FOUR MONTHS AGO AND RU-vid NEVER NOTIFIED ME! So, yeah, four months of videos in only one day, let's do this 💃
I’m glad you’re back and I’m glad you’re ok! I even checked on you because I realized I haven’t seen a video pop up from you. I went to your page and no new videos. I was worried so I said a prayer for you. I’m so glad you’re back and home and with your babies!
I was thinking it’d be cute to blend a pink after the blonde into the purple , ombré effect 🖤🖤🖤 needed this video girl I am about to bleach my hair again too it’s been over a year I believe! I’m so excited! Your hair came out good ! It’s so much fun to play w hair color !!
Glad to see you back with your babies. It seems like it'd be a good time to try a pastel while the roots are done. It's not as if there are many other opportunities without frying the length.
So happy to see you back at home with your fur babies! Ive missed seeing Poki and Pablo in your videos! It's nice to get away but equally nice to get back sometimes 😊
At the hair salon they did a platinum card, which is also what they do to my hair as well, and for HALF my hair it took like 3ish hours, with 1 hairdresser. It lifts better because it’s in foils and small sections or at least should. They have to do it for my hair, or blast it with 40 volume because I have thick dark hair.
You should be able to use 10 volume or 7 volume developer with the BlondMe bleach. That powder is STRONG. I have a similar natural hair color as you, maybe even slightly darker, and I can easily lift my hair to a white-ish tone as you got with the BlondMe powder and their 7 volume developer. I do cover my hair though and of course you'd have to watch the color lighten in order to know WHEN to rinse the bleach. Because it will take longer with 7 volume as with 20 volume. For reference: to get the same results with Wella Blondor, I had to use their 30 volume developer. Even their 20 volume would not be able to lift my hair past a soft gold level 8 blonde within 45 minutes. Even high lift color can do a better job for me. But it always depends which levels of lift the powder does promise. The 7 levels lift powder by BlondMe also won't lift your hair as nicely as their 9 levels of lift powder. There IS a difference, really. (And that definitely means that the 9 levels of lift powders are stronger and create more damage to the hair. They also usually lift faster and will never create a very settle result, if one would want that. For a more blended result, a bleach powder with a more gentle formula would be better.)
Looks gorgeous! I love the idea of keeping your roots light. I'd love to see some bleach London blonde shades for your root and then at the same time you could do your ends in pink/ purple!
I really like the light roots! I do think it would look better with a touch-up on the pink though as had faded in parts (maybe bleached roots could be a pastel shade too) ❤
Water quality has effect on bleach. Stella Chini mentioned it a while ago. She couldn't get her friends hair to lift to level 10. It stayed yellow. I prefer to start bleaching the back of my head first. So I can move my hair around ❤❤❤❤
I've also left my hair alone since the summer and I just dreamt about bleaching it a couple hours ago maybe around the exact time you posted this don't encourage me!!!!!!
Hey boo hey! So glad to see you're back but totally understand needing to take a minute, intentional or not. Not even going to lie when I got the notification I just about did a backflip of joy.
I missed Pablo so thank you ! You seem sad and manic. Lindy, please do what you need to to be happy. Remember when you did that Mr Potato Head video /makeup? Your own happiness made ME happy ! Never forget how special and talented you are. Love from America 💋
Damn girl you killed this bleach job! And it's ssoooo good you use 20 over some if the higher volumes. I'd say a 15 vol would be your sweet spot I think 10 would be a bit to low.
Evelyna Forsell bleaches her hair with a 7 or 10 developer. I don't know how that works, but it does obviously because her hair remains a good condition. Anyways, just fyi!!
Great Ur back,I like the blonde roots into a different colour, maybe blend more purple into it.,but great lift on the bleaching, it's better than the professional bleaching U got previously IMO.
