Big dots are friggen awesome. Fits perfect with my training in the military. It was in advanced courses for protecting Generals in Europe in the 1980's with the SAS and GsG 9. The most amazing thing to me back then was the accuracy stayed the same but the reaction times were quicker.
Great video. A belt or surgical tubing is what we used in Boy Scouts and VFD/EMS. I have a big box of 50 CAT Tourniquets and I would rather just carry surgical tubing. Oh you can write the time on it. You got a Sharpie just write the time on the patient. At this point in critical care even 2' of paracord works for the job.
I would say there is a reason EMT and Paramedic vehicles are not stocked with paracord and surgical tubing. Sure, they MIGHT work in a pinch, but with proven tourniquets so available now there is not reason not to have one (or several).
@@SurvivalOnPurpose yeah I was a Paramedic in Texas back in the 1990's. The method of Action is the important part of how a tourniquet works whether it is a belt, paracord, surgical tubing or cat tourniquets. It doesn't really matter anyway because you are only going to get 1 use out of it because it's going to end up covered in blood and in a biohazard bag. I suggest diversified emergency medical training and learning how to use every method available to you. The life you save just might be your own.
@@cultural_lettuce1 I will just write the time on your forehead with a sharpie. That is the way we were trained to do it at the VFD back in the 1990's.
@@celmer6 I don't really want to get into an argument here, but it's not the 1990's anymore. Medicine and first aid is constantly evolving and we've found better ways to do things. That's why it's important to keep the most up to date training possible.
Much better broadcasts. But what about radiation injury recovery items, or protective equipment? Stop the bleeding is important first but what about other stuff?
To be clear… this not really a “first aid” kit. It is strictly aimed at stopping major bleeding. And the individual component pricing is probably about what the kit cost. The CAT tourniquet by itself is around $30.
Actually, it was much more than an ad. In fact, the ad was just a good excuse to show in closer detail some very good firearm sights that I have been using for quite a while. Just look at it as a bonus content.
