In this tutorial series, we will talk about Blender as a solution for 3D Camera and Object Tracking. Step by Step you will learn how to use Blender for preparing your footage in the Video Sequence Editor (VSE) and getting used to the Movie Clip Editor. Then we will cover the important fundamentals of 2D-Tracking in Blender and also some use-cases for directly using these data. Then we build upon these 2D-Tracks and start solving a 3D-Camera and talk about good and bad tracks, nodal shots, tricks like offset-tracking, joining of tracks, and analyzing solve problems. In the final tutorials, we will finish with Object-tracking for props replacement. After this tutorial series, you have a solid understanding of Blender's Camera and Object Tracking and how to use the solved data inside of Blender or in other applications like Maya, Cinema, or Houdini.

This tutorial series „Blender for Production“ focuses on Blender as a full Production Suite for (Indie) 3D- & VFX Productions. In these tutorials, I will explain how to work with the different Modules of Blender and how they are connected. I will give you an introduction to the specific functionalities, but also the production context and workflows, which can help you to use Blender in your productions.
As a Senior 3D & VFX Trainer, Helge Maus teaches 3D- & VFX Applications for 20 years. His focus lies on VFX, but he also works with many studios and agencies from different visualization areas. He focuses on Houdini FX, Blender, and NUKE for his daily work and training.

Great tutorial as always! Finally talked about adjusting the camera! When I used the footage with parallax, after good solver and settings, the 3D object will always drift a bit along with the camera movement which looks fake, while in this tutorial, the object stay statically, isn't that good? How should I remove those drifting effect in my case?

Great tutorials, I really appreciate you making these videos. I've been following almost all of the video series (skipped over the Nuke work flow videos as I don't have access to that program), however, I've been wondering how different the work flow is for object tracking for various video shots (nodal, tripod, etc.)?

Very nice tutorial series. I dont know if possible, as i never seen a tutorial about it, but could you make a tutorial video about 3d camera tracking with a video-sequence (one with parallax, one without parallax, to explain everything :) ) where e.g. the camera turns around e.g. 180 degrees. The main thing is, that all markers from frame 1 to e.g. 200 will disappear as the camera turns, and will NEVER re-appear in later frames ( to use joint-tracks). If using offset-tracking, the tracking is very bad. Lets say you stay on a sideway and film the street from left to right (180 degree, with e.g. some concrete posts infront of the camera (for parallax) and without) so that no markers in the first e.g. 200 frames are there in later frames. When you then set a marker to the street (which should be straight) in frame 1 to e.g. 200, and then "offset" this marker to another place at the same straight line of the street, and move on with tracking, the original marker will go crazy. And if you do it with 8 markers todo scene setup, i only get worse results. The blender-layout-plane is never in the position of the street, so that i can not simply place some 3d-cars on the street and move it. If possible, would be nice to see. Thanks for all other videos.

How create depth map in blender from video footage? And using depth map for creating fog or clouds with tracking?
