Another prototype video for my Blender Asset Browser import Addon. This time Ill be showing the new material asset importing feature.
The tool imports selected material assets as node groups to the currently active material in the scene, which allows faster construction of multi-layered PBR materials from several base materials. You can even import multiple materials at once - great for experimenting!
The tool is part of a larger addon I'm currently developing to extend the asset browser's import functionality. The addon will introduce new import methods for objects (curves and meshes) and material asset types. I have no set date for it yet, but I will release it once I'm happy with the core functionality.
