This seems like a more detailed blockout. Personally, I prefer even fewer details and steer clear of tools like knife, extrude, etc. Primitives are usually enough to nail down the main shapes. One underrated thing a lot of people skip is turning off all the lights and just focusing on the silhouettes. It's a great exercise in itself.
Definitely can do it with lower detail. I personally like seeing some secondary shapes but sacrifice the full primary as a result. As for silhouettes, I made a matcap that is pure black just for that. Thanks for the comment. 👍
@pzthree hey this is sort of off topic, I dont know how else to contact you, but do you have a video that talks about how to add cylinders to a sub d mesh? If you look up a drone called DJI Matrice 30T and look at the front of it. Thats what im talking about. All those cameras and sensors on the top front edge. I cant seem to figure out how to do it nicely.
