I've been there in October 2018, and I was welcomed as a special guest (even if I am just a Blender fan). Ton was so kind and took me for a tour of the whole Blender Studio. I've met developers, artists and graphicians, and also Pablo (the one who was taking this video). They made me feel so welcomed! I think Blender is a renference point in the Open Source community and philosophy. They are simply great. Thanks guys!
I think it's so important to note the thousands of young creators' lives that Blender has touched. I would never have gotten to practice the art of 3D visual effects without open source software like Blender. Thank you!!
Same here. It's free so what is there to lose? It's an awesome and powerful tool. It's not just one thing, it can do many things like animation VFX, and game making. Since it's free, anyone can use it to see if 3D animation/game design/visual effects are something they want to do.
I did the same thing, moved directly to 2.8 and I feel like its waaay easier to model in Blender than 3ds max, everything is so fast and easy and intuitive and clean... but I still render in 3ds max, not a huge fan of cycles
@@henrique-3d do u have any ideas on how cycles can be improved and if so, then did u provide those feedbacks somewhere? and have u checked cyclesX lately??
I'm using Blender while watching this video. I wanna leave a comment of gratitude for Ton, the creator of Blender. Maybe not many people think that Blender is a big deal, but I do. I wanna thank you for creating this software, whatever you went through to make it, it was absolutely worth it. Saying that this software is amazing, is an unbelievably huge understatement. No words can describe the goodness of this software. This man will never be forgotten.
While being a creator of world's top open source 3D software, The Ton Roosendaal is a very humble and kind person. I wish there were other software creators like him.

what I like about the office is that it feels so home-like.. most corporate offices do not look like these and it feels claustrophobic sometimes but this is like a home.
Just started learning Blender a few weeks ago and absolutely love it. Seeing what goes on behind the company just makes me love it more. Ton seems like such a chill dude.
Ton seems genuinely excited! Like a grandfather showing off his new granddaughter and all the things she's done and does ("Here's her room, this is her bed where she sleeps at night...when she sleeps...oh, and this, this is the night time monitor so we can hear her. Now down here is the hallway and on the walls are things about her, lots of pictures...and then we have..." :) ). One thing is for sure...I sure am excited for Blender 2.8! And no, I am not a blender user (Was XSI, now Modo, mostly). But I'm REALLY hoping the new layout's and custom "workspaces" (where you can have different hot keys and things available/not available based on the workspaces 'thing'; modeling, rendering, rigging, particles, etc).
I haven't used any other 3D software but Blender's capabilities are amazing. Though difficult to start learning but once you get a hang of it and the numerous shortcut keys it becomes fun.

I can see Blender future surpassing other 3D programs because the focus is to give to people who have less, gifting to people a pleasant opportunity to exercise one personal creativity within the program, as a result most users naturally become supportive for the team and the ambition the company strives.
