Thanks for the video! I never would've guessed that "Apply Modifiers" was why my shape keys were disappearing. How bizarre... And in case anyone else encounters issues with shape keys in Godot 3.6 and below - try unticking Data > Shape Keys > Optimize Shape Keys > Use Sparse Accessor in Blender's export settings. It was causing all the vertices in my model to scale 2x the base size for some reason.
This is so cool! Controlling the shape keys via code, there's so much to work with there. And tweening between different shape keys, that sounds rad. Thanks for the video man. I'd never heard of shape keys, I'm excited to try it out
Thank you, this was very informative, and useful. Looking forward to the tween vid. Also, when code is already explicit.. Don't worry about explaining.. I think. That'll reduce the video length and keep the viewer attention span or idk how to say it. But thanks this is helpful.
Dear Barbarian, better show us how to use the shape keys animation together with the bones animation AT THE SAME TIME, because that's how it's almost always used in the industry ;) There is no problem to play shape key blender animation only or bones actions only in Godot. But HOW TO DO THAT at the same time? ;) (eg. my character is walking (bones animation) and talking (shape keys). Cheers!
Note : for some reason the Shapekeys don’t work with GLES2, they will import into Godot but won’t work if you try changing the value kinda like how he the export with modifier reacted.
@@SavvyBarbarian Godot and Blender are awesome recipe for game development plus Gimp, Please continue, and I'm sure you'll be one among my favorite channels for game development, Good luck bro .
Hi, you can make a tutorial like this video with Shape Keys?, but with input controller, how to make the character walk and jump just with Shape Keys, you know? Because I have only Shapekey characters, no bones or skeleton, please if you do, send me a message here, I want to make a game, but first I need to learn
@@SavvyBarbarian no, as in when you keyframe shapekeys and make an animation, the way i tried it was by making an inhereted scene with the object and saving the anim. then in my actual level i would put my object in it and as a child i would have a anim player with the animation loaded. but this doesnt seem to work properly because when i duplicate the nodes everything becomes black
