@@in2vert It definitely will. The video shows that you really worked through the editing. The little snippets about how a tool works are also very good as well. It feels like I am watching a good Skyrim modding tutorial
I think this is my first time commenting on a youtube video. Im not sure. I wanted to thank you for this video because I am creating a game for my final project for college and this video saved my life when I was in a hurry. Brief, clear and incredibly useful. Thank you for your content. ❤❤❤
Fuck me, if this isnt one of the best paced and presented modeling/sculpting tutorials out there. How come no one told me about the booltool until now?
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I am on an incredible journey of learning and This tutorial is by far the most clear, Concise and thorough of the myriad sculpting tutorials I've seen. Thank you so very much for detailing your process for managing Poly's as you go. This is the first tutorial I have seen that hasn't just glossed over this incredibly important part of the process! I uploaded my first ever sculpt, "LizDog", and I can't wait to continue on this journey!!
@@jeesemcratfry1263 hhm, I'm not sure which part of the process you are referring to. I learned how to use Bools by watching Josh Gambrel and his Hard Surface Modeling tutorials.
I do 3d blender modelling, but never fulled around with sculpting because it seemed like I could never get it. thanks to your video over night my creature modelling as gotten a lot better. after this video I made a full sculpted dragon!
Thank you for your tutorial! I think I find finally my own hobby. Sub and like and I go to check others video from you 😊 great job man! Sharing with others this knowledge is not valued highly enough but I’m really thankful for people like you. Greetings
i just started trying to do this, but have one problem. When i start sculpting i do have the mirror function on, but why is there a gap in the middle once i finish sculptingfrom the side?
This is really late, but I've just started blender myself and I'm trying to learn. Was it because you didnt have the merge option on in the mirror mod?
This is a great tutorial, I love how simple it is and this tutorial actually thought me how to use sculpting mode. But I have a problem, when I'm doing my creature like yours, mine does not seem to be smooth like yours. Like in 7:45, yours look smooth but mine looks way to low poly, mine has big squares and it annoys me. Do you have any suggestions to fix my problem?
For anybody still wondering this, you have to change the voxel size to something smaller then the default when you remesh and this will make it look smooth like he has.
I've found your channel by chance.. Awesome.. As a Biologist I was looking for an idea for easy sculpting animals, ect. in BLENDER.. Then to change them into nightmare animals.. All the best from Colorado USA.. 😁😎🇺🇸
great vid but im having trouble with the sculpting part, and by that i mean instead of adding stuff its just making a bigger oval if that makes sense. i think what i mean is how do you get the sculpt to fill the refrence of the rhino??
At least 16 gigs of ram At least terabyte of storage And a descent gpu most preferably an nvidia gpu 2060 - current A good cpu that matches your graphics card That should do ok
i have to ask, after using the bool tool, how do i make it so that what i do to my mesh mirrors to the otherside, cuz u didnt show anything after the bool tool(i think) and when i try to normally scult,it doesnt mirror edit : i figured it out,i had to mirror it from the top right, thanks alot for this tutorial
after union my mirror modifier got lost... I see u have it the same but in sculpting it still applies. Why my sculpting doesnt get mirrored? In layout I dont have mirror after unioning as well edit: I see now, u have this "Y" option marked in sculpting mode
Very Underrated tutorial. I liked how you went in depth with little side tutorials on various things. However I cant seem to figure out how exactly you have you have used booltool at 7:10. The legs go from being cylindrical to squares in a single frame and I'm not sure what you've done.
I just used bool-tool and after that remeshed in sculpt mode. I think I know what you mean, you see the remeshed result immediatelly after using bool tool. Shame on me and my cutting skills :O
This is awesome. I just had one issue. When I merged the legs with the body it made the center of my object the center of the cylinder. I just restarted, but not sure what happened there. I’m brand new to blender btw, so I really don’t know much of what’s going on with it.
So I got to mirror and nothing happened. WTH After hours of trying to get this to work I returned the program preferences to factory defaults. This worked but how would anyone know what was wrong. I think this software is like a swiss army knife, does anything but badly. Thanks for your effort, I enjoy watching you sculpt.
Do more meshes add more articulation? Example if I wanted to make a long reptilian dino like tail, do i make one long mesh or multiple but connect them like an action figure?
I did this tutorial and followed everything but my creation doesn’t at all end up like 3:48 . How do you make it so it’s in the middle?! When I was blocking off the body, it ended up with this incredibly odd outline on the mirror axis that had the two shapes laid out, but nothing like the smooth thing this time stamp has.
I think you moved your model, so you have to reset your origin. Select your model and do a right click - Origin - Set origin to Center of Mass. However it is difficult to make a diagnosis without seeing it. Feel free to upload your project here so I can take a look at it to help you: drive.google.com/drive/u/0/folders/1849r_g-qR7oO5rYACc1Ag9ngAutRNKxk
So,,, every time I add new objects and join them together, I can't get rid of the seams in sculpt mode. Any advice ? Even smooth brush can't get rid of them, the line still remains.
when i try using snake hook in sculpt mode instead of selecting 1 area it selects 2 and moves them parralel to each other how do i stop it from doing that
I have a question - scultping isn't working for me like at all... I try and use the brush but the model doesn't really react, my strength isn't the issue it just does nothing, what did i do wrong?
Hey I love all of your blender videos!! I was wondering if you could help me by any chance, so I have tried to follow the donut tut many times and keep getting different issues I just cant fix, its very frustrating. Should I instead look for a different tut? How did you get started? :D ❤
Can anyone help me? New to this. Just starting this tutorial and he's switched to the "Snake Hook" to start roughing out the body. In the video he does it with ease, but when i try to use the tool it only allows me to select and pull from a couple spots and essentially all i'm able to do is warp an egg shape
6:07 i don’t get this part at all like i make the edge loops then what do you do? i click and it just makes it go orange i click again the vertices go black with dots and when i click the dots it makes a selection box when i select the dots they turn orange and nothing else happened very confused can u help?
I followed the tutorial trying to learn how but the part with edge curves really confuses me and does different things compared to yours. For example I try and make my leg bend but it creates a duplicate that bends the other way when the original bends the right way. Another thing is that edge curve won’t go around the leg fully it only goes half way which is very confusing for me.
its completly impossibel for me because when i try to use grab option then the whole part moves and not just where i clicked and it show some dots and i can ONLY sculpt on the dots its impossible to sculpt ither areas excpet the dots
I cannot explain this other than you did not apply the subdivision modifier on your object, or your brush radius is too big. If you cannot solve the problem, please upload your project here, so I can have a look at it: drive.google.com/drive/folders/1849r_g-qR7oO5rYACc1Ag9ngAutRNKxk?usp=sharing
@@stijngroot1657 This is nothing I can tell you. I can tell you only, that when I was learning Blender it was very helpful to watch full uncut modeling videos.
Yo man I’m trying to make a video game with a group and I saw how well you made this. Is there anyway you could make a few characters I have in mind for my game. If obviously pay you for it. Let me know
