Interested in learning how we blend coffees for espresso? Follow along as Jay cups three different potential blends of coffees for the Espresso Agent 99.
Blending coffees is more art than science and is really one of the most challenging aspects of coffee production as you're trying to create a particular flavor profile from coffees that change year to year and even month to month. In this video, we'll be cupping blends using two or three coffees from Peru, Colombia and Uganda. So, follow along as Jay takes you on a tour of the coffees and the cupping process.

Do you blend the beans then roast them together, or roast them separately and blend them after? Have you done both?
@SproCoffee
@SproCoffee 6 месяцев назад
You can do either. I've done both approaches. I've found pre-roast blending to be easier and you don't have to worry about the homogenization of the beans. But if you have beans of significantly different densities, or you really want to have very specific roast profiles for each of the coffees, post-roast blending is the way to go. There's no truly Right or Wrong way to do it. Let your taste buds be your guide in making your decision.

@@SproCoffee thanks for the reply! We will experiment with both, will be doing a post-roast blend tonight. I will update you with the results…
