Beautiful to watch and listen to with a clear, easy to understand explanation of what this magnificent palace Blenheim is all about and its past and its present owner "The Duke of Marlborough." What splendor this is and to enjoy living in it.

Queen Anne was only that size near her death. She was pregnant 17 times! And was never robust. That was an exaggeration.

Is the thirty-foot ceiling height of the Library measured only from the top of the Entablature/Cornice, or does it include the vaulted space beyond the cornice?

The Palace of Versailles was built and funded by an absolute monarchy. The French King built it so grandly while looting France's wealth because he could do what he wished and wanted to show off his power so nobody could challenge him. By this time, the British monarchy were becoming constitutional, meaning they had to get permission from parliament to do anything and could not build super grand palaces. And most importantly, this palace is not a royal palace! It was allowed by Queen Anne as a gift to the nation in celebration of Britain's victories in a battle, however, was not a royal palace.

@chrisbehn4116

+Jimpony1988 Churchill was part American even before he was given the honorary citizenship through his mother.
@EmdrGreg

Mr. Churchill could never have been president, although many would have been thrilled to have him in that office. He was magnificent.
@gildavis3177
@gildavis3177 6 лет назад
Perhaps in light of the fact that his mother was American he would have enjoyed dual citizenship. As such, he would have met the constitutional requirement had he resident in America at least sixteen years prior to running for office.

If the palace was a tribute to Britain's victory over France, how did they get a Frenchman to do the art work in the saloon?
@tig3662
@tig3662 5 лет назад
Most art in palaces elsewhere in Europe were drawn and designed by the French. France as a nation was more into that sort of thing and it was easier to find artists from France at this time in history.

How about turning the volume off? You control your level of annoyance with the commentators voice that you can manage, not him. You're not beholden to listen if you simply want to watch.

Its a simple informative way to speak, pure narration without lots of fancy emotional reaction bshit.. Streight forward, direct, precise & simple.. I think this way all TV narration was made before the rise of the US Anchormans who started to make their stories Bombastic, fantastic, opulent & maybe sometimes centered more about the narrator himself then about the actual information.. I honestly like this way over many modern styles of narration, idc about how cool the narrator thinks this is, i like if he just gives me the infos.. So i think we should rather appreciate that this video features this old style.. There is enought content. That nonstop is like: " wow!! Thats so cool! Omg i couldn't do that!! Thats crazy!! Just immagine the amount of effort that went into that! Truly masterfull!!" I mean just give me data i can interprete shit on my own guys =) Sorry for the rant xD cheers m8
