I can't listen to this without tears. It has the essence of the impact the Beatitudes must have had on listeners: the shock of being included, heard, noticed... As though beneath all the hype and spin, behind the scenes manipulation and self-important power we are surrounded by... the quietest and deepest voice in existence has responded with an embrace of the vulnerable and powerless who exist quietly underfoot.
Blessed is Nadia Bolz Weber, as every day when I listen to this, she reminds me that I am blessed 😔🙏 My mother never wanted me, and lost my husband and my child, so I know those whose tears could fill an ocean.

Pastor Weber help finalize my decision to come back to the faith after almost abandoning forever. A fundamentalist charismatic pastor dumped me and my pregnant wife over a dispute saving a wealthy but highly abusive member and discarding me,his employee, to keep this person happy ,coming back and giving good money to his church. That was 15 years ago. I wandered in hatred and contempt and confusion and despair ever since. Recently another crisis has arisen that I cannot fix no matter what I try. 2 months in to it failing, something called me back to a local Lutheran church and upon internet research on Lutheranism, I found Nadia. She is the kind if minister I have been hoping was out there. I have some hope restored again. Still synical,angry and confused, but that makes pastor Nadia all the more appealing to a guy like me. I have feeling she would know what it would be like to have walked a mile in our shoes.... thanks to God for her!

You mean religious leaders who will lie and manipulate as much as they need to, to be accepted by satanic people; even to depart from the truth entirely? I thought there were plenty of those already! Have you never listened to a megachurch pastor? This is what they all do. They choose popularity over truth, so they twist the "truth" to fit the world "lie". These pastors who will do ANYTHING just to be accepted by you, will not be accepted by God, for they are wolves in sheeps clothing. This kind of "preaching" is what the Bible talks about in 2 Tim 4:3-4: "For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they draw to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto myths."

That is The 1st Time Ever that I hear the words of “Blessing” that I can feel are addressed to my type of Being 🙌🏻 it moved me and messed with me to the core 🧘🏻♂️ and look I live in q catholic country (🇧🇪) and was raised in Catholic Churches 🙏🏻 only the Jesuits took my hand and assisted me in a way I could transcend my condition (now I know it’s ADHD but then we didn’t know) that was seen as a economically poor and unstructured family kid you is easily distracted, talks a lot but in some way is very intelligent as the psycho tests have shown - these guys saved me based on my IQ test results ❤️ I just needed to complete that save with an emotional saving and there you come with your Blessings 🙌🏻❤️🥰
hopefully shocked! In our world we think that only the rich, famous, and "lucky" are blessed. Jesus was telling the world that we get that part wrong! God wants to spend a little "extra" with those who are in more need than others. Just like a parent would spend a little more attention on a child who is sick. God is with you.
It leaves everyone being reminded that we’re blessed and loved. Suffering doesn’t discriminate and whether we’re overly wealthy or severely impoverished, we all suffer. Jesus reminds us that we are all worthy of love, no conditions or strings attached.
This is exactly what Jesus meant, when he said that you can't mix the unleavened bread with leavened bread, without making one big loaf of leavened bread. This is the truth mixed with a few little lies here and there. It sounds true enough to those who live in darkness, but it leads to hell!
