She's a cherubim. Was an amazing soloist in the Howard University Concert Choir in the late 70's. She studied under the world renowned colorotura soprano Mattiwilda Dobbs while at Howard.
Wow!! I wish church music was like this more often bc now it's all hip hop and mos of them can't sing. But nothing beats old school chu'uch music!!!! Thanks for posting!!!
Awesome! We need more worshippers like her! You just know she meant and lives every word. Anointed! Some the singers today are doubtful...u see um singing in the church and bumping and jigging before they're out of the door of the church good. Help my worship Lord to minister your spirit right!! Thank you Psalmist Cole!!
Glory! I thank God for the Blood of Jesus, its redeeming, keeping, and sanctifying power! Thank you Sister Coleman for allowing God to use you in a magnificent way!
This is truly God given talent. I discovered this performance a couple of years ago and I just cant believe that this lady has never recorded professionally to my knowledge. She is one of the greatest Soprano if not the best Soprano voice I have ever heard and to be able to sing not only notes but words in her upper register is short of unbelievable, I have only heard Minnie Riperton do this feat. Wow Im amazed at this voice, its not of this earth!
MY GOD! MY GOD! MY GOD!!! Felicia Coleman Evans. What a gift. So good to see Evangelist Consuela York as well. She is truly missed. That woman could pray like no other.
@booglet Yes, she has. She's a professional recording artist. If you live in Chicago, you hear her all the time. She sings for virtually all the political campaign jingles; she is an international singer. :-)
Does anyone notice that the lady in the beginning announced the wrong song? Okay I don't know lol, but she said Evan sings Oh Lamb of God and I think Ms Evans was like um, I'm singing Blessed Assurance. She should have just sang both so we can have another video to enjoy :)
Zaqueu borges leal silva She sounds like she’s singing in falsetto. One because she’s singing it very effortlessly I just hit the same note that she did literally just now as we speak and I did it with no effort not saying that her chest voice is not a real soprano but I don’t think that’s her natural voice that high but she reminds me of the lacreica Campbell
@joliegarrett her range is unbelievable. I wish I could find another video where she is singing in chest voice, but this is the only one since she usually sings in classical/opera style (head voice). Her, Tammy Taylor and Francine Jones are the highest true-voice sopranos I can think of! And Sandi Patty too...
Her first recording with the ship was every knee shall bow in the 70's Her mother Margaret Coleman lead her daughters Felicia and Sylvia in being Gods Best First Sopranos
I really wish I could hear her even some times. I so deeply long to hear her sing another solo like this (not the ones on youtube already. I've heard all those, and they weren't quite solos like this yet they are amazing). Does she still have the range? (I'm sure she does lol) If there's any chance you might have the ability to post new stuff of her singing, please do.
Boy! She has a lyric soprano voice above the octave scale. Glass breaking sound. Those pipes she has reign over heaven. Keep on singing to glorify the Lord.
I love her operatic soprano voice she’s actually a alto I’ve heard her sing in her lower register in her chest voice and it’s very strong sort of like the late Lacresha Campbell she song majority of our songs falsetto but she is in fact a true first alto in her chest voice
Nonsense. Having a lower register does not make you a lower voice. And things like 'first alto' aren't voice types. They're choral parts. She is a real high soprano who has chosen to develop and refine her head voice.
@mortinsprocessor I've watched this video several times and the volume is perfect on my computer... Are you sure your computer's volume is turned up...
@MinisterJLC3 Ummm lol. I'm pretty sure Lecresia did not get her influence from Felecia. They are both sopranos, and not the first ones God made. Well Lecresia might not fit into a box, but Felicia here is a soprano by all means.
@okebaram girl, the volume sucks. I have Bose Speakers and turned my volume up on them and the main volume control on my computer and to my dismay, POOR. Bose Speakers produce base and clarity to the utmost peek, so whomever recorded this didn't have their volume up at all.
@MinisterJLC3 you said "If any two ppl have the same style somebody influenced somebody". Honestly, that is NOT correct. I don't care what style or voice type you encounter, in virtually every case, there are others with the same style and voice type. There have been and will be other sopranos that sound similar. Felicia's style is not just a style... it is a combination of her natural voice type, gospel style and classical style. And such a combination is not isolated to anyone
Not knocking her, she did good but my favorite soprano / Whistler of all Times is the late Lacreasia Campbell ! Man I wish she was still alive and with us to bless us with more ! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0ZUldiDi71Y.html
