When I was looking into this book I couldn't find many reviews of it so I thought I could provide one for those also looking at purchasing this book. I hope this was helpful.

I've had this book for almost a year now and use it daily. I use it for my morning and evening prayers and when I attend Mass. It's my "go to" book if I'm not sure what I want to do. I carry it with me everywhere. I wish it came with more ribbons but I just use multiple prayer cards for bookmarks. I would recommend this prayer book to anyone.

I ordered this prayer book Blessed Be God from Amazon & it arrived in the mail today and I absolutely love it already!! It’s awesome! I just skimmed through briefly and I can’t wait to start praying from it. In my opinion, if you’re Catholic, which I am, this prayer book has everything you would want in a prayer book. It’s chock full of so much stuff. I highly recommend it. You don’t even have to be Catholic to enjoy this beautiful prayer book. Thanks so much for your wonderful review. I've had that book for many years now. It is my missal when I travel and attend TLM in other places and countries :) It's a great book and it serves its purpose to support most of the spiritual reference of any devout Catholic. I actually have not even read it from cover to cover as of yet and still gives me surprises every so often when I pick it up to read. This is a great investment for you and your family, and also it can be a great gift to fellow Catholics on the journey of discovery of their traditional faith.

I have a copy from 1926. I love it and recently took it to a bookbinder to have it rebound as the cover has finally become worn out. I won’t get it back for about 6 months and I miss it terribly. The review made me miss it all the more because he is absolutely correct. It is an exquisite book in design, art, and prayer.

Put a small dab of supa-glue on the end of the ribbon,that will stop it from fraying.Its very easy to glue in more ribbons.

I just found a 1960 edition of this at my local thrift; mine has a zippered leatherette cover. Thanks for the walk-through. This is a really amazing little book! Also I have that same paperback Catechism, and I'm not even Catholic! Thank you for a thorough review.

Sounds like you snagged a great find. I'm curious; how well has the zippered cover held up over the years?

@@StatCruxVolviturOrbis the zipper works just fine; no problems. The pages were all gnarly and dog-eared and took a while to straighten out. I take that as a sign that it was used a lot, though there are no markings of any sort inside. I plan do do a little mini review of this neat prayer book on my channel soon.

Oh that's very nice to hear. Too often I see old zipper bound books with the zipper almost falling off or being broken or unusable

I just ordered this, helpful review. I don’t attend TLM, but I figure I can repurpose the readings as just a general selection of scripture to read whenever. Also, really cool that I’d have a TLM missile basically right there in case I ever wanted to attend one! Also, from looking at the table or contents, I think even if you ignore the third or so of the book dedicated to the Latin mass, the other 2/3 still packs way more content than any modern prayer book you could buy today. Modern publishers need to step it up!

I had the 1925 Pj kennedy publishing release, Are there any significant differences in the prayer wording in this version?

The edition by PCP is a reprinting of the 1960 P.J. Kenedy edition. To that extent I don't know of the differences between the 1925 and 1960 edition. The 2019 reprint of the 1960 edition does add St. Joseph's name to the Roman Canon so I imagine if there are changes they would be small like that.

Yes, it has acts of faith, hope, and charity! They use thee and thou instead of you but that goes for most all of the prayers in the book as I mentioned in the video

I hope you don't mind my asking questions; I'm a non-Catholic, and I am curious about this book. How would this book be classified? It's not a Sunday Missal (though it sounds like it could take the place of the missal at Mass if you choose), and it's not a breviary. Is this prayer book sort of its own genre? Sorry if this sounds ignorant, and thanks for an informative review.

I don't mind at all. On the inside cover it gives its full title as "A complete Catholic prayer book with epistles and gospels for every Sunday and holiday of the year" It's meant to be a general use prayer book for Catholics with prayers for all occasions: some for when attending Mass, and others for particular devotional times, etc... If you were to classify it I guess it would be under Prayer books/devotionals. These sort of collections or compilations are that uncommon for Catholics.

How is the morning and evening prayers and rosary. Is it side by side in Latin and English. ? Thank you

The only latin/english parts side by side are the Mass parts, which it has for regular Masses and then also Masses for the Dead and for Matrimony. In the back of the book it has the readings for Sundays and major feast days throughout the year and these are in english only.

Is the mass the only prayers that are in Latin? Or does it have other prayers like the apostles creed and Lord’s Prayer etc in Latin?

The Lord's prayer is part of the Mass and so it is included in latin/english. But there aren't any other latin prayers outside of the Mass texts

You need to have the 1924 edition. Before VII because print maybe changed 🙏

It's a 1960 reprint and VII began in 1962 so there is no cause for your concern. Additionally, I trust PCP to do an honest job reprinting older works

The only things that are in both Latin and English are the parts for Mass. There are however many catholic prayers like the Glory be, Our Father, Hail Mary, the Angelus, the apostles creed, the act of contrition, St. Ambrose and St. Thomas's prayers before Mass, the litanies of Mary, the Sacred Heart, and of the saints, prayers for the rosary, stations of the cross, etc...
