If I go out and commit adultery, I would never go to the church and expect it to “bless” me and my adulterous partner!! Recognizing our faults, asking forgiveness, and making an honest attempt to avoid repeating these sins is what we are supposed to be doing.

My dear sister in Christ, I am sorry the priest withheld his blessing. He will answer to God since that is his solemn duty as a minister of our Lord. I do agree with the priest however, as to not allow your dog at Mass. There are many who are legally blind, crippled, etc. that do not bring their dogs to Mass. My grandchildren and I have pet allergies so please consider the needs of others. There is a place for animals, but Mass is not one of them.

I am amazed and a bit disappointed about the number of good priests falling into the trap. The document says directly, "Within the horizon outlined here appears the possibility of blessings for couples in irregular situations and for couples of the same sex.." What do you think "couples of the same sex" means? What is a couple? A couple is a pairing of one man and one woman. Two persons OF THE SAME SEX cannot be a couple, so just on this point alone the document is shown to be a lie. It uses woke language (in another place it mentions 'inclusion' as some sort of virtue that God sends down a blessing for). It's a sick, sick joke. In response to that the German clerics began to create their own liturgical celebration of same-sex unions within their so-called "synodal way." With this declaration, the Pope is putting a stop to that. Along the way, in this declaration, the Dichastry put up some pastoral guidelines for any priest that may be confronted by a same-sex couple asking him for a blessing. It allows the blessing of the persons, but not the union. It also sets guidelines for when a priest may deny the blessing (like when the couple wants to legitimize their sinful reltionship, or when the blessing might misconstrue any approval of the union).
