Fr. Chris Alar Explains That We Bless the Sinner but Cannot Bless the Sin 

How sad that we have to say that when scripture says that the church is the pillar and foundation of truth. We should be able to look to her (which we can) and her vicar (which we can’t do more often than we can since VII considering what each post conciliar pope has said and done). This pope is confusing the flock and pointing people to hell. A tragedy, for sure, but all we can do is stay faithful and share the truth with the lost inside and outside the one true church Jesus gave us

DEar @@Yachtnurse51, as you know, no one can come to repentance without the grace to come. The blessing of individuals in a sinful relationship is oriented towards God *giving* these people that grace which they need. If the word "repentance" does not appear, still, what Fr. Alar read was that people coming to ask for blessings are those who recognize their need for God.

That has helped me tremendously,as my husband and I have just celebrated or 40plus years of marriage and 2grown up children and 1 who returned to our spiritual home in God's loving arms. Martin broke the so-called rules by blessing faux maRRied people as their arrangement goes directly in defiance of Jesus' command in Mt. 19:5-12. If they had stood instead in front of Jesus right after Jesus spoke Mt. 19:5-12 would He have blessed them? B.) Given Martin is a heretic, according to St. Augustine of Hippo, popes in agreement with him, St. Robert Bellarmine, St. Antoninus, St. Francis de Sales, and others, heretics are outside the church and their "blessing" would be of none effect. Faux maRRied people go against Jesus commands in Mt. 19:5-12. A priest, concerning those not faux maRRied, the "couple" would first have to say they repent of what they are doing because Sacred Scripture and 2k years of Tradition working hand-in-hand with Sacred Scripture won't allow otherwise. C.) The church has always taught there must be an intent to change. A "couple" can come forward, one behind the other, with arms crossed and receive a blessing, so FS is a redundancy allowing photo ops, and Fiducia Supplicans can be shown, both logically and sequentially, to be contradictory, poorly written, and a monumental failure, not just limited in regard to that by the following: In the footnotes for Fiducia Supplicans, Francis almost exclusively cites himself, and in the decisive paragraph 31, there are no citations at all, thus the document is largely bereft of past church rulings to bolster it.

We all as Jesus' Church must indeed engage in continuos prayer for the entire church leadership as for our brothers and sisters in Christ, that the Holy Spirit may enlighten us and continue to guide us throughout the patht of righteousness He has traced for us. So we may bear true testimonies of love for others to appreciate and follow. We must stand firm for the truth and for the love to our neighbors, regardless their spiritual condition. We must, with the help of the God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, our Blessed Mother, and all Heavenly Hosts, must provide a solid foundation of truth, love, mercy, and good testimony to all those, who like trepid souls, are heavily confused wandering around life. We must stand firm, pray and do works of mercy to bring them into the abode of the most compasionate Heart of Jesus.

We need to do what Jesus said to the apostles when they didn't understand why they couldn't drive out demons. He said they needed to Pray AND Fast. I strongly believe that we must pray and fast at least weekly. It's very important right now. May God guide us. 🙏

This document has created confusion and division in the Church. And this Pope in his 10 years as Pope has a history of doing this. Making confusing statements and not explaining what he means! Other bishops and priests would come to his rescue to explain to us what he said. Confusion is not from God but from the devil.

How about when a straight Catholic couple who approaches a priest for a blessing and that couple is cohabitating, not married, fornicating and using contraceptives and have no intention in getting married in the Church? Don't let his words and dress fool you: "We are blessing the sinners as a couple not the sin". They purposely added the word 'couple' on that document, 5:32, to refer to blessing same sex unions and not just blessing a struggling sinner. Should he bless a man and his favorite prostitute as a couple because he is blessing the sinners and not the sin?

The definition of “Couple” is: 1.) Two individuals of the same sort considered together. 2.) Two people who are married, engaged, or otherwise closely associated. There is no nuance, the confusion is intentional. Confusion is a tool of the Great Deceiver. The church is fully compromised. The sooner Christians wake up to this reality, the better.

The Catholic Church is the One True Faith. There are many that are trying to dilute, change, and remove certain teachings The Catholic Church has had since Jesus Himself instituted The Church. Protestantism falls into this same vein of well we don't like this, or we don't agree with that, so we'll do our own thing. You don't get to pick what you want or what you like or don't like. Jesus didn't say everything I'm saying is ala carte. I hope you understand what I'm getting at and read the early Church Fathers and see what I mean. This is why the Catholic Church has been attacked since it was instituted from those outside and from some of those inside. Sadly, many have been pandering to this group or that group for years. Speaking The Truth is more loving than making people "feel good" or "comfortable". I've had to do this with many of my family and friends and it is not easy, but it is right and merciful to do so. I won't hold somebody's hand as I walk them to the precipice of Hell just, because I don't want to hurt their feelings or make them uncomfortable. If you truly love somebody you must tell them The Truth and they may not like it, but that is true love. God be with us and let the scales fall from our eyes.

Yes, and I think that Fr. Alar showed that the Declaration IS clear, in spite of his not liking the word "couple." In context, it can mean nothing more than "individual persons in a relationship they must sever." (The document actually *has* to use the word "couple" in order to be clear about what exactly it is referring to!) We all want to live a holier life! Praise God, HE is providing yet another way for us to receive the graces we need!

Everyone deserves and needs to get our Lord's blessing. But this document is a lie father. We can turn it into what we want it to be because the devil is at work here and Satan's way is to lie and confuse. Just because they sprinkled it with some good phrases doesn't make this a good order by the Vatican. This was designed to lead people down the wrong path. This will always be same sex blessing and not designed for repentance. But to celebrate unholy union.

There's a big difference between the words, individual and couple, it's clear that couple consist of two people. God have mercy on us.

It is extremely lonely being an orthodox Catholic today.

Stay strong with your faith. It is not so easy to live in this world where what was very wrong and sinful seemed right and not a sin anymore because it is the modern vogue idea and practice encouraged by peers and the media…living-in together as a couple but not married, whether homosexual or heterosexual, in a romantic relationship should not be encouraged but rather be condoned because such a sinful relationship should not be endorsed and validated by the community. Let them recognise the sin and encourage repentance with full support from family, friends, and community. Be blunt about the sin committed but be kind to the sinner. We are all sinners after all, and whether the sin is venial or mortal, we must always ask for God’s forgiveness and mercy.

Fr. Alar is not struggling w/this document, he is boldly proclaiming the Truth.

The problem is they are not blessing a person. They are blessing the 2 people that are going to continue the sin. If you go to Confession & the priest absolves you of your sin, you can o ly be forgiven if you don't plan to repeat the sin.

That is why we are told to work out our salvation with fear and trembling, using God's merciful graces to give us strength to avoid the near occasion of sin. We are also not to sin by presuming that God will overlook our sin because we don't take it seriously. But, yes, God's mercy is great, but it is not cheap. His mercy is not to be taken for granted. Are homosexual couples who slept in the same bed the night before , then the next day go to the Catholic church, get blessed as individuals but standing together as a homosexual couple and then leaving the church as a homosexual couple, and then go back home to sleep in the same bed as a homosexual couple, with no rebuke or disciplship offered, just a blessing..
