This video gave me inspiration for this new line that I myself wrote: "An hour spent with the ones you love will be worth more than a lifetime of eternity." And you know what? This is actually very true. Well, sure. A lifetime of eternity will give you opportunities and experiences beyond anyone's imagination. But what's the point of all that if you cant spend it all with the ones you love? And this is why I consider mortal lives to be more valuable than immortality. Because with immortality, life will just repeat itself over and over again. And in one way, quite literally. But with mortal lives, the fact that we cant last forever makes appreciate every moment with our loved ones. And it gives us hope that we will see them again, if they fall behind us. And for you, dear reader. Your life is a valuable one. No matter where you're from. No matter who you are. No matter what you've done. Please, dont ever forget that. You're a beautiful person, a brilliant person, and you are loved immensely. But most of all, please remember. I may outlive you, or you will outlive me. But either way, remember that even though we may not ever meet, speak to eachother, laugh with eachother, hug eachother, or even see eachother. Know that I love you. With all my heart. For you are a beautiful person. And you are the most valuable thing in the world. I love you, to the next life, and back.
This makes me cry EVERY SINGLE TIME! T^T When you first see it, you think Twi is giving respects to her friends as they died some time ago...then the rune circle appears, and the magic glows around her...you're like 'NO, she can't be doing THAT!'. Then the statues crack, and the tears flow right from your eyes. You realize that Twilight just resurrected her friends, in return for her being an alicorn princess. Her friendship was worth more than all the power and immortality in the world. That's why celestia had that look. She's like 'are you sure about this?'. Of course, Twilight has made her decision and is ready to face whatever comes afterwards...as long as she has her friends, she'll be ok. THAT is both heart-wrenching and happy at the same time. She gave up something to bring those she loves back. The background music fits SO nicely into it too...the crescendo was in the correct spot, and EVERY SINGLE TIME I hear it I tear up. I think why it's so sad is because we all wish we could have our old friends back. The memories, the smiles, and even the spite and hardships you all went through. Or even just someone we lost, whether it be through death or just growing apart from one another. Is it all really worth risking yourself to bring back the ones who matter the most to you?
Every time i watch it, i cant stop crying starting with the opening, this is why I love this community, through all the randomness, there's this kind of stuff
I still think she died. I think she sacrificed her immortality and the passed years came rushing into her and she was instead welcomed by the souls of her friends. But that's just my thoughts on it.
+ShaDHP23 I agree. If she could have brought them back, she already would have. There would have been no need for the memorial/shrine. The looks she and Celestia exchanged before she goes in are final goodbyes. Realizing that I was a lot more affected the second time I watched it.
I never saw you react to this... and I have never in my life... seen you have so much emotion and feelings towards this reaction... this is why I have the most respect for you and your own series and community! I saw it differently, I thought since she lived so long due to her alicorn abilities, once she stripped herself of her alicorn magic (indicated by her losing her wings) her natural age caught up to her and she died, and woke up to see her friends in the afterlife where she joined them
I was about to start cry already when the door was going to open, few seconds later tears came falling from my eyes. Actually I think as some others has said in other comments that she sacrificed herself to be able to be with her friends again.

i realized what she did. Twilight had to chose between friends or immotliy. But before she could choose, it was to late. years later Twilight found a spell that gave her hope. A spell to turn immortals, mortal. She rushed to celsita, and told her the plan. Celista didnt like it, but she knew twilight missed her friends. Celsita lead her to the molsolem. Twilight entered. She started the spell. She became mortal. She had her friends again. But the thing she didnt know, the thing the creater of the spell never told. The only way for the spell to work, was if you did it for love. The spell only worked because of Twilight loves her friends, missed her friends. She justed wanted to feel like it was home. And because she did the spell, she realized something. Nothing can break the love between friends, the bond that never leaves you, and never lets go.
I just made my self cry because it made me relize the same thing. the ones i love will never leave me, leave us, because they will neaver stop loving you.

I think, Celestias expression before Twilight opens the door is the answer to this Question... This is just.. beautiful. I watched the original animation right after watching the finale to the series, and I almost started ugly crying. I left a long comment that just.. allowed me to pour out all of my emotions that I was feeling. I just feel that the finale and this animation tie in so well. Twilight outlived her friends, and she either sacrificed her immortality to bring them back,or she.. ended her life to be with her friends forever. She wanted to be with her friends so much, that she sacrificed almost everything. I started crying while writing this comment, and I can barely see what I’m typing now.

While immortality can make you live on forever, it can't do what friendship can do: friendship can give you eternal happiness, and makes unforgettable memories with others you deeply care about, and forms bonds with other people/ponies(in this case) So if I had to chose between friends or forever, I'd choose friends, because that's all I need to live on until I die, and even then that friendship will still live on.

I barely managed to avoid crying at the series finale, but shortly after I saw it I finally got around to watching Remembrance and for whatever reason that did it. Bawling.
If you didn't know what that meant from the start that message then pause the video and read this Well as you can see there are four alicorn princesses celestia,Luna, Cadence,and twilight and if you watched Ashley H Remembrance videos the reason why Cadance is sad is because shining armour died of old age or he died in a war that's why she keeps flurry inside the crystal empire because she doesn't want to lose her too and when your an alicorn you can live forever so I think when twilight was an alicorn her friends died and twilight is going to give being an alicorn to be with her friends and will die when she gets old or in a war or something but yeah you guys can continue the video imma go now bye!!

I knew I was in for a tearjerker when I heard "Remember Me". And then...even more sadness as I watched the masoleum door opening. I broke into quiet tears.
Well, it should have been better if they stayed dead, just for the lesson that the dead won't come back alive, but will stay alive in your memory. That's a life lesson.
Tim Heye I don't think that she brought them back. I think that whenever she gave up her immortality Twilight's age caught up with her. Then she saw her friends in the afterlife.
I had 2 friends who were very close to my girlfriend and to me. They were both suffer from depression, I tried to chear them both up but i feel like i failed 2 years ago in Febuary Friend 1: John, who was her brother shot him self & burn down the house he lived in....Friend 2 Ashley who was my girlfriends sister overdose on pills this in augest..she found her on the ground of her appartment..she was sad & piss while i was in a deep depress because i feel like i didnt do my job right to help them out, once a while i look at there old instgram accounts and i thinj how it woukd of been if they were still here. I cant listen to Fireflys the sameway with out being a little sad since it was her brothers favorate song. If i can was able to bring them back but if involved me dying then i would take it.
And Twilight lost her wings... DOESN MATTER ANYWAYS, Friends are more than being a PRINCESS, if I were Twilght, I would do anything to free my friends 😊

I get it now, so as she was an alicorn, she lives forever, and her friends die off soon, so she gives up her infinite life to live her friendships all of again for memories. BEAUTIFUL
This video made me sad to, but only from my heart. Your heart is not just for survival, but you will feel that sadness in there and when your crying, the you reach a breaking point (that happened to me a few times and I was very heart broken).

Friends are very important, naive people who want or wud want to live forever forget that they wud see so many things that wud scar them, friends and family die before them and they cant do a thing because their immortal. Friends, depending how they act and treat u and as well as others, are just as important as a lover or family. Immortality, has a price, just like many things.
I cried during the first time I saw this, and I don't cry easily. I haven't really cried actual sadness tears in so long. There were a few times, like when I lost my favorite stuffed animal (it was a bunny) as a baby, when my cat died, when my dog died, and one other experience that I'd rather not really talk about because it was stupid and complicated and I don't even know if it would count as real sadness tears. I originally wrote the whole story for all of these, but then I realized it was way too long. Anyways, I cried a little when I wrote the part about the bunny because I had loved that toy for probably every second I had him. I brought him to day care, to the mall, pretty much everywhere. I get pretty sentimental about animals, but when a conversation comes to stuffed animals I get really sentimental.
