The way this episode came about was kinda awesome: apparently the writers asked the voice actors what theyd always wanted to do with their roles, and integrated each one into the script, like Pinkie going into space, Fluttershy doing a whole crawling-through-vents spy sequence, Applejack revealing she has an alter ego as a country singer, etc.

Technically shinning armour didn't lose cause rules were twilight had to get passed the security get the crown and then get out of the castle so technically twilight and spike didn't win the crown because they didn't get crown and then get out of the castle.

Hey Mr IOU, Of all the things in the episode, and there were a lot of call backs and such, my absolute favorite was a reference few would get... Luna's sitting on the throne petting a goose... Shades of Bond Villain, Blofeld, petting his cat... Or, perhaps Dr. Evil's pet cat 'Mr Bigglesworth'. In any case, the self satisfied look on Luna's muzzle was worth the reference. :) The prize of the siblings eventually going to the little brother they never really noticed was always there in the end, was a good way to tie off the whole thing, and acknowledge that Spike really is 'family' to Twilight and Shining Armor. Luna's deception was also woven in so well that no one expected it to happen. Most would see the minor disagreement between the two royal sisters as being merely another of their 'spats' and discount it, but in the end, it was Luna's way to point out that there was a major flaw in 'Tia's plans. It's fine to protect from exterior threats, but one from within wasn't even considered. Keep on making these reactions Blank Check / Blank Slate, I know that I enjoy them and I am certain many many others do as well. Enjoy Cider Fest!
