Back in 2011 I went to a Blind Guardian gig with a friend who recently committed suicide, we were both huge BG fans and it was by far the best concert we've ever seen, now, watching this video, for real, it brings back a lot of good memories, I can only say thank you a lot.

@@Dosenpruegel Hansi was recently interviewed per video by a Greek magazine (available on RU-vid) where he said, because of coronavirus they postponed the release of the new album from June 2021 to October 2021. They will tour in September 2021 in Germany and Switzerland. The tour is called "Blind Guardian plays Somewhere Far Beyond". So they will most likely first tour and then release the album, because the tour is about "Somewhere Far Beyond".
This was a unique experience for all the people around the world those cannot prescence a Wacken its so hard and far for home but thank you for this! BLIND GUARDIAN FOREVER!!!
Regarding the new song, it has nothing to do with their old-school stuff as it sounds exactly like the music they keep producing after the Night at The Opera album, which is, in my opinion, very disappointing...
@@trelobio To me the only miss after Night at the Opera is A Twist in the Myth. The other two were amazing, especially Beyond the Red Mirror, which is one of their better albums.
These guys are so goofy and fun I love them. Saw them on Twist and the Myth tour.. will never forget seeing a giant crowd clapping with their hands over their head... to speed metal. What a blast and one of my favorite memories of all time. There's just something special about the strip down sound of just the band with no layering. It's like listening to OG Blind Guardian.
WOW! Then you lost the live stream of the performance, when after Violent Shadows came Born in a Mourning Hall. With that I passed to be a terrible pain in the neck to become the Count Brocken from Mazinger Z 😆
just like a sword forged by the twilight gods, Blind guardian remains sharp and has lost none of his magical power to take us to distant worlds and times.
Violent Shadows, I really dig the "return to form" so to speak, the sound is very similar to some of the earlier albums and man. I really dig it. Can't wait for more.
I love seeing bands who are adapting to the world situation and pursuing ways to bring their passion to the masses in this new world. Violent shadows was amazing. Beautiful chorus as always, but what stood out to me was that solo. Very nice. Thank you Blind Guardian, cheers from the U.S (sorry we suck)
My guess is after finally finishing Legacy of the Dark Lands they made a conscious decision to go more straightforward with their sound. Just old school speed metal, but still recognizable Blind Guardian
@@Coralskipper Hansi doesn't seem like he's used to it, but he will probably be back in speed metal mode soon. With the level he's acquired, this will be some classy speed metal!
Ich habe an dem Abend meinen Geburtstag gefeiert...ja, auch mit Gästen ;P.....Aber: zum auftritt von BG habe ich mi9ch zurückgezogen und einfach nur genossen. Danke an alle verantwortlichen (natürlich auch an die bands) die diesen Abend zu etwas ganz besonderem gemacht haben....und ja, da zählen auch alle bands zu !! Metal will never die!!!
Hansi's voice sounds great here! He always sounds good, but I know heavy touring must wreak havoc on his vocal cords, and he often sounds like he is intentionally preserving his voice by reducing his rasp and the number of screams. Awesome to hear him go all out here.
The new song sounds amazing! Can't wait for Blind Guardian to set wipe the curse of 2020 clear with new music. Yes, they're that powerful. DON'T QUESTION ME!
This was awesome, Blind Guardian is one of those bands that for me at least sound just as good or better performing live. I don't know that I'd ever be able to attend Wacken even in a good year, so thank you so much for this!
Hansi at full power is a rare sight. Touring wears him down. This was ultimate. He is truly the all time master of his craft. Legendary and defiant of comprehension.
@@carlosluismendez7392 I wish they would do something like a live studio album. Pick 10 songs, re-record them, film it. Release the album, behind the scenes doc, and a music-video/live hybrid concert thing. I would do literally anything for that... Anything.
@@acuman99.9A Anthem is japanese band of Heavy Metal who did something like that.. They rerecorded some old songs and did a permorfance live at the studio, It was filmed and it kick ass.

I consider BG easily one of the 5 best metal bands ever. In fact I would say they just trascend metal at this point. And they keep getting better every year. Just too much quality

Wacken war ein besonderes Gefühl natürlich nicht allein wegen der Musik. Das besondere waren die Menschen, das Gefühl von Freiheit, es fachmännisch (Skandal, fachweiblich natürlich :) zu übertreiben das alles bei guter Musik. Wir können dankbar sein, das so erlebt zu haben. Brave New World
Hansi had sounded better these past 5 years than he did 15 - 20 years ago . I can say that because I've seen Blind Guardian in person during both time periods . Very impressed .
Awesome show! I hope we get a full version eventually. Had a feeling that Hansi's voice sounded so fresh - he probably got a good break from live touring, and put it all into this single show of 2020! So awesome! I hope they do get a new album finished during the pandemic. A very fitting setting for Blind Guardian.
I might have the full show but I doubt there's any legal way to get it to you. Tried to "record" Wacken 2020 in full (setting up several VLC instances to receive, redistribute, store and play the live streams). But it's pretty much an unorganized mess (the video file containing "Wacken", "2020" and "Blind Guardian" is ~7GiB large and has "Iron Maiden" in it's filename too...)
This time has been rough on us all. I hope everyone is doing well and surviving as best as they can. To hear Majesty in these times has given me an immense amount of hope, and I only wish I had been there in person to be a part of it. Thank you forever BG!!!
Not sure if it available in other countries. But the whole show was streamed on Magenta-Musik-360. It is a site from the German Telekom. They are the Streaming partner for Wacken, Rock am Ring and some other festivals in germany. Hope that helps :)
The Dystopian horrible settings of a virtual garbageworld is totally and Thankfully outshined by Blind Guardians extreme performance. Best gig of 2020. 🤟🏻✨ I saw it ”live”. And André is playing above any other guitarplayer in the world in this show. It’s insanely good.👊🏻✨
