It only sounds big because of the drum samples and backing tracks. Actually I think it’s shit. Not knocking the style of music or their ability but I think bands should play actually live which includes the actual sound of the drums, not drum software. Sounds like a Tv show where they play the recording and just have the singer do live vocals on it.

@@Skoora He doesn't play with drum samples dude. He may have a trigger on the kickdrum, but that's standard for most festival gigs. And no, it sounds great because it's been mixed well, at the show, as well as after.

@@BeardedDanishViking in fact they use playback, but i think not the drums, guitar, bass and vocals, they are played live. the playback is the symphonics, 2nd guitar tracks probably and vocal harmonics. but this does not mean that they are shit or something, a lot of bands do this. and when i saw gloryhammer it was one of the best live shows ever, i can only recommend it

It's 9am on a lockdown Friday in a small town in Derbyshire on the edge of the picturesque English countryside. A 55 yr old man picks up his phone and taps the you tube app where he's greeted to the new day by this video. Never knew this band existed as I'm an old 80's greb. This was such a special concert for me! My boyfriend has been going to Wacken every year since 2009. We met online and this was our first festival together! It was also the first time I heard Gloryhammer and they were very memorable- especially the fans, some of whom were drunk and shirtless riding on a unicorn inflatable after the concert ended abruptly due to the thunderstorm warnings (Kudos to you guys, you were AWESOME!). Either way, I am SO glad I learned about this band, they're my favorite, and I'm super happy to see Wacken uploaded the concert!! Hope everyone is staying safe and washing their hands!! Hoots! 🤘

Thanks for clarifying, I was trying to understand what indeed happened. They are always memorable live, saw them first time also last year in Graspop (just a filler between bands for me) and naturally they got me to watch them live later in Antwerp.

Thomas was the one who made Gloryhammer fame. I hope we will see him in a similar role. He is such a good Fantasy / Powermetal singer! I don't know if there are copyrights or something but why shouldn't he continue as Angus McFive? It would be the ultimate revenge against his former bandmates who kicked him out and we could still see him with his beautiful green uniform.

Agree, in my opinion, when a former band member drops out, it loses its essence...Thomas is amazing, and I hope to see him in future fantasy metal bands like this one. For me, Gloryhammer is dead.

@@guysmcfellas615 no they couldn't. I mean, they might have had time to finish the song but the guy who came on stage was very clearly saying "kill it now". don't know if he was a manager for the band or from the venue but he was definitely somebody who had the power to kill the show if needed.

Gloryhammer tempted fate by wielding the Astral Hammer and summoned thunder from the heavens! And had to be closed down because German law forbids them playing in a thunderstorm. What did we learn to do kids? Zargothrax is a German lawmaker. It being happening during Gloryhammer was appropriate, but the whole festival shut down for about an hour

The same thing happened in Bulgaria a few months earlier. Gloryhammer's entire performance at the Hills of Rock was canceled because of a thunderstorm. Their fans were really angry. Luckily, we got to see them later, when they came with Powerwolf.

Man, I feel so sorry they had to cancel the show. The finale would have been so awesome. I both feel sorry for the audience and especially this amazing band. I´ve watched the full concert at least 10 times now because it´s just so much fun to see how much fun they are all having. Hopefully - one day - I´ll be in Wacken myself. As a German, I HAVE to see this live, this is part of our culture by now :D
