Chinchilla and Ren wrote this song to apply to all people who have lost themselves in grief or trauma. Except for explaining Ren's final line in the outro, the listener doesn't need to know anything about their backstory.
A beautiful reaction Jessie, REN and Chinchilla are described by REN as “musical siblings”, the connection between the two of them is electric and obvious to everyone. We Renegades all hope for a lot more duets from them in the future. The song is about RENs best friend Joe who took his own life but I will leave that to others to explain, just to say I love your genuine caring reaction, keep reacting to REN, he is extraordinary. You must do some of RENs Songs with the band The Big Push, cheerful and all fantastic😀😀❤❤
Thank you so much. I always love your Ren, Ren/CHINCHILLA reactions. I really get your comments regarding the beautiful way they connect with each other visually. So intense and emotional. Please keep doing what you do. I'm loving it. From a RENegade here in the UK
I agree with you about the eye contact, it's subtle and intimate, but definitely adds another level to the already incredible performance. There's no showbiz here, just pure emotion and talent, just magical. Cheers
I think the word you may be looking for about how it hit you is 'vulnerability'. Their ability to connect and be vulnerable with one another while singing about such deep subjects creates a space for us to be vulnerable too.
Yup, what you said. The raw emotion in their look, can't be quantified. It's not looking into somebody's eyes, it's seeing into one another at the same time. Nothing like that has ever happened to me. Watching them connect was moving to say the least. Wicked reaction. Thank you.
I love how "real" you are! It isn't hard to see how deeply they connect to your emotions. It hits me the same way! I've been in the Ren Rabbit hole for almost a year now and it doesn't get old, Keep up the amazing reactions, I'm sure there are many of us that feel exactly what you show.. :)
Stumbled upon your channel the other day. You’re quickly becoming a favourite. Binged your Ren playlist last night when I couldn’t sleep lol. Never apologize for the pausing and talking even if it’s a million times. It’s what I feel a good reaction channel will do. Love the light hearted quirkiness. More panda hat reaction’s please it’s a fantastic hat, kinda jealous lol. Anyways, now I feel like I’m rambling lol Hope you’re having a great day! Peace and love!!!
You young lady are showing us "Reaction" video watchers what the purpose of the channel is meant to be!!! Real Reactions!!! Other reactors autta take notes!!! Massive Respect!!!
I believe the lyrics are rooted with Ren's struggle with suffering through his Lyme Disease issues while simultaneously dealing with the loss of his close friend. IE Su!cide, Freckled Angeles. Which no doubt added layers and depth to his suffering. There's a lot of information out there about the tragedy surrounding his friend's loss. I believe the story goes, he received a call late at night that his friend was on the bridge about to jump, And Ren went running to try to get there before he jumped, but he was too late. Dealing with that along with the suffering from misdiagnosis from Lyme and all the torture associated with being prescribed the wrong meds. That'll do it. You should check out some fun Ren. The Hunger, Losing It, Love Music #3, What You Want. So you can know our boy isn't all doom and gloom.
@@AD270479Even though a lot of people have been claiming that, it is not true. It is performed on a balcony/rooftop (in Brighton I believe), not on the bridge (in Wales). This urban myth has probably been spreading a lot since people feel like it is adding yet another emotional layer. But for me the song is beautiful and emotional enough even without it.
This song is about dealing with loss, and is dedicated to Ren's friend Joe who took his life jumping off a bridge. There are a few songs Ren does about his friend Joe. This, Su!c!de, For Joe
Yes... thier Eye Contact is almost disturbing to watch... the intensity is authentic and captivating!!!! They say they're just really good friends... yet Damn... i can only pray for such affective and endearing eye contact!!! Soul Mates is the best descriptor i can equate that to!!!
Thank you for your reaction. Don't be sorry about saying how you feel or what you think about a performance. Yes, we may have heard it before; but, we haven't heard it from you and your thoughts/impression of the video.
Another great reaction, thank you!. If you want to continue crying and also want to hear a different style from Ren, I suggest "Crutch" ft Bibi. There's a backstory about her in his life and the song was written as he was just beginning to show symptoms of his problems many years ago
So pleased you have seen this most amazing performance, and whilst a tough subject, beautifully handled. These two together is heaven x 2 . One of my absolute favorites is them busking on the streets of Brighton " One Dance/Drunk in Love " very special indeed. Can't wait for their new music they are releasing together this year. Lovely reaction.
Great reaction! This definitely hits different… whenever you get a chance I think his song Suis*de will play on all your heart strings. I don’t wanna give anything away. I spelled the name of the song the way REN has it cause RU-vid wouldn’t allow him to post otherwise. Love the reactions!
A perfect example of a bittersweet experience. The nice sound mixed with those sad, melancholic lyrics. Thank you for the emotional reaction and for the longer after thoughts. I really like it when you speak your mind even if the vids get a little longer. You might wanna go for a more upbeat song by Ren. I can highly recommend the Love Music series which is totally about loving music (and a little more on Pt. 4) 😅
There's three Ren tracks that I'd love to see your reaction to: "Hi Ren", "Money Game Part 2" and "Su!c!de". The first is pure, undiluted art - and explains everything you need to know about his illness (he was misdiagnosed with depression, bipolar disorder, and chronic fatigue syndrome, until finally being correctly diagnosed with Lyme disease many years later). The second is one of my favourite tracks of his - both funny and thought-provoking. The last is about one of his childhood friends; I'll leave it up to Ren to cover that as anything I could say on the subject would be woefully inadequate.
When ren sings "where is my god" did you notice he looked up into the sky. Definitely have your tissues at the ready if you watch the tales jenny, screech and violet 🥲
A great reaction to a very beautiful, sad and emotional song. Your thoughts about it is on point and feel very sincere and honest. Really enjoy your reactions.
Ever notice how the people you're with bring out different parts of your personality? For example, the 'you' that shows up when hanging with friends from school or work is probably different than the 'you' that surfaces around your parents. The presence of others strongly influences who you are as you navigate life. Imagine you've grown up with a very close friend with whom you spend practically all your time. And then they abruptly die. Which 'you' emerges now that they're gone? When this happened, Ren was in the depths of his worst struggles with Lyme and wrestled with the temptation to join his friend Joe rather than figure out how to be. This is heavy stuff, but very cathartic. *** If you're interested in something incredibly human and uplifting, I HIGHLY suggest the live recording of Jacob Collier's "Little Blue" from the Mahogany Sessions. It's life-alteringly beautiful.
Can we please request a happier song.😊 You are very empathetic. I think Ren has a beautiful voice. He is compelling when singing. He has texture and this thing that's hard to describe. Plus he can sing any genre, very well. However we all have preferences. You haven't really heard his range yet.
Ren spent time in the hospital during his psychotic breaks. A lot of his psychosis was affected by the loss of his best friend, Joe, who committed suicide. He jumped off a bridge not too long before his illness began.
What are you talking about? That little wave with her hands, the one time at the beginning. Talk about being petty, I thought it was just fine. 🙄 She can do what she wants because it's her channel. Her insight is what matters and she does it well.
