BLINDNESS IN ONE EYE: the gift he asked from the Genie he freed from a bottle 

A story is told of a Genie who, after being freed from a bottle offered to his rescuer any gift he'd ask on condition that his wife would get double. But he was on his way to separate from his wife. Moved by hatred and unwillingness to forgive, he asked the Genie to disable his left eye. The wish was granted. He became one-eyed, and his wife became totally blind. Was it sweet revenge?
