BLINDSPOT| Malayalam Short Film| 3 stories| Inspired from real events
Blindspot is a Malayalam short film produced by the batch of 2012 MBBS; Govt. Medical College, Thiruvananthapuram. The film comprises 3 chapters conveying 3 different stories and emotions. All three stories were inspired from real life incidents. In accordance with the title and tagline of the film, it describes the new realisations in the life of 3 young doctors which were beyond their perspectives.
As a part of the storyline, some medical terms are used in the film which are described below:
DKA (Diabetic Keto Acidosis) - A serious complication of Diabetes with very high blood sugar levels which develops when the body is deficient of insulin.
Hypo (hypoglycemia) - Condition caused by very low blood sugar levels.
Hyper (hyperglycemia) - Condition caused by very high blood sugar levels.
GRBS - General random blood sugar value.
Glucometer - A medical device for checking blood glucose levels.
DNS (Dextrose & Normal Saline solution) - A fluid which is a mixture of sugar and saline solution injected into blood.
NS (Normal Saline solution) - Saline solution without sugar content.
25-D (25% Dextrose solution) - A fluid with 25% dextrose (a form of sugar) used to treat hypoglycemia.
