Curious fact: by this time, the trio had custom made instruments, their own signature series, Tom with his Fender Stratocaster 70’s with the Invader bridge pickup only, Mark his signature epic Fender Jazz bass shape but with Precision bass pick ups, and Travis with his own Orange County drum set with the Cadillac stuff in it, I can’t think of another band that every member had a signature instrument at the same time - - Also extra fact: Tom DeLonge is one of the few guitar players that has had both biggest brands Fender and Gibson made him his own signature guitars the Fender 70 Strat Delonge and the Gibson ES 333 Also extra: everyone had their own clothing brand, Travis with Famous, Tom with Macbeth, Mark with Atticus, man punk rock used to pay well
Fun fact: blink 182 was never punk. Anti flag, dead Kennedys, Ramones, the clash, those are punk bands. Blink was an alternative rock borderline pop band
2:19 I don't think Tom was supposed to say that because he censored himself earlier in the song and Mark quickly looks at him as soon as he hears it lmfao, what a badass.
Yea I'm pretty sure they probably told him not to cuss but he said fuck that lol. Reminds me of The Doors when they played light my fire on the ed sullivan show, Jim wasn't supposed to say 'girl, we couldn't get much higher' so he said fuck that and they got banned lol.
agreed. 1999-2004 was the greatest of era of blink performance wise. especially during the untitled era 03-04. the whole band was on point and sounded great in all aspects. really wish i got to see them in their prime. I did get to see them at riot fest in 2013 and it was amazing and tom was actually pretty great that night. best night of my life. right up there with getting my first guitar and losing my virginity
+Stephen Sporman Tom was at his prime between 93-99. Look at old school blink videos, Tom was a beast playing and singing Cheshire and Dude ranch sons.
I was 12 yrs old when this happened and everyday i came home from school I'd flip on MTV and watch Carson on TRL I remember the day Bloodhound gang came out with "the bad touch" and I fell in love with that band lmfao great times in the early 2000s
+Jorge Diaz this is why we had decent music back then, cause the audiences fucking rocked with their musicians in the concerts, now they just stand there making shitty recordings of the concert, obviously the musicians say "whats the point"?
You know what? I'm tired of people who say Blink 182 are a talentless band... I mean they're awesome musicians... yeah Tom might not have the most amazing voice but they're amazing performers, the fact that they're so normal is why they're so loved by their fans, they're so easy to relate to... Their lyrics are amazing, they might not be the smartest but they have great meaning... They've helped me through the hardest of times and I thank them... Blink 182 forever
I will never stop being a blink fan, when they were in their prime i was only 5-7 years old, but its 10 years later and im still listening to them and celebrating their music.
they helped me as well i fucking love blink they are my favorite band fuck those people who say blink suck or are talentless blink 182 rules. it is cause of them i was inspired to start a punk rock band
At first, this song seems like a fun happy song. You hear the fun melody and riffs. You see the band having a good time on stage and the audience smiling and grooving. The lyrics are about how screwed up things are in the world.
@GuitarsAndPurpleHair I agree. Tom's voice ... It's the only i could criticise... But i've always loved the fact that they are talented when it comes to creativity. They have created loads of catchy meaningful tunes, which is not easy to achieve...
I love how tom rushes his intro riff and then when he has to palm mute and pick down in the verse he just drags de whole band... Poor travis must've suffered with these kids back then.
The 12 year olds running around with Blink shirts are fans all the same that we are.. I'm 18, been listening to blink since I was 8. The 12 year olds that bought the shirts obviously like Blink enough to buy the shirt. Who are you to say you are a bigger fan and/or enjoy the music more than said 12 year olds? Just be happy for the band that they have fans of all ages.
This is better than I thought it was going to be I thought it was going to be terribly edited but they actually let Tom be Tom and sing it properly not a bad performance of the anthem part 2
hey man. completely agree with you. atmosphere is a great example too. young teens would be so much different if they listened to the music as i did as a young lad
100KJayLauren that’s bold considering many other bands are much more recognized. green day for example, is also punk rock and is in the rock and roll hall of fame, making them ahead of blink already.
Vrqr Green Day is good but I feel they don’t really compare to Blink. Blink was for me easily the most fun and charismatic band of the pop punk bunch. And their songs were very unique for pop punk
Man Tom used to sing so much better than he does now days. I miss these days, this is when Blink 182 were the kings of the music world. All the 12 year old kids running around in Blink shirts have no clue what Blink was all about
I'm 17 and have grown up listening to blink all my life i spent year 8 and 9 crafting my mates and convincing them dubstep is gay as balls so now pretty much all me mates love blink and most people i know do as well. Now we're all going to Soundwave to see them.
i listen to Punk-rock!!! im 12 years old! and my whole class (boys) listen to rock! from hip hop i listen only Rage against the machine, from Pop only Mika and from house........no one cant listen to it! i know more then 47 rock bands!!!
Yes, it's possible. But, they're missing out. They showed everyone that you don't have to be "perfect" to be noticed on the mainstream. Just be yourself, and have a good time. They're absolute legends, and I wouldn't be alive if it wasn't for them. I'm doing everything I can, to bring back this sound to the mainstream. Please, if you enjoy this kind of music, and miss it. Check out the demo teaser on our channel, and spread the word to all your friends. Have a great rest of the day. Cheers.
sure theyre not mid blowing musicians but you sure can tell that they have fun playingg together making music. i think thats part of the appeal with this band
i know it sucks being just too young to have ever seen these guys at there peak i saw them back in 09 when i was 16 even though they rocked the shit outta that place its just not the old blink.
