blink-182 (Tom DeLonge, Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker) opening their show by performing Anthem Part 2 @ the AO Arena, Manchester, England (UK) 15/10/2023
it´s mostly a british thing i believe... at the primavera festivel in barcelona (which was like 60% attended by brits) it happened constantly but I´ve never seen that happen in germany
@@Gollas4k yeah I just seen a TSSF show in Portugal I believe where they sang the riffs so it’s definitely not just a British thing but it probably started there
I mean, they hadn't put out an album since that kid was in elementary school but, maybe those kids will get hooked on Blink bc of this new album which I think is their best.
One of the greatest gigs I've ever had the privilege of seeing, and fortunately managed to see both Manchester shows. What a way to start a show, incredible night ❤
DANG - the palm muting on those verses is STILL amazing when tom does it in this song like he did originally, all down strokes while singing at that BPM, amazing. Not up and down, but all down strokes, it sounds so good!
It's a great point but wrong. He is ABSOLUTELY doing up and down strokes. The lights are flashing a lot, but it's total up and down strokes. Watch his hand very closely, you can literally see him doing up and down strokes. If you are a guitar player, go ahead, grab your guitar, and try to play downstrokes during that, you'd have to be a robot. If you don't believe me, why would Tom play the chorus with open notes still strumming up and down?
206bpm is obvi hard to downstroke consistently but to say you need to be a robot to pull it off is a little excessive lol I think he was coming more along the lines of playing a live show. Sitting in a bedroom, with a little practice, most should be able to grasp the downstrokes at that tempo
I’ve seen them 11 times since 1998. It’s amazing what auto tune and backing tracks have done for Tom. It’s seems like he’s an OK musician at this point!😂
Just saw them yesterday in Mexico City. Apparently, Mark was not feeling well in his throat. Nonetheless, they absolutely kicked ass and got through the show without any problem
It'll be an intro click on in ear monitors. If you watch any footage from this tour, Tom never plays the guitar part of Ghost on the Dance Floor but it's still there & there's a bunch of synth/etc that plays over songs. They're definitely playing to pre-recorded stuff/layers.
