Totally wrong. With a USB pendrive connected to Sync Module 2 it’s perfectly possible to view clips through the app with no subscription needed. This video should be deleted as it’s extremely misleading.
Thanks for making this video, I guess I needed to hear it out loud. So I spent hundreds of dollars for hundreds of daily clips of reflections, shadows, and hanging baskets blowing in the breeze, that I used to be able to look through from anywhere I had a data/wifi connection. Now my options are to trundle a flash stick back and forth to my PC, or start another ongoing monetary relationship with Amazon. You should get a reasonable amount of cloud storage with a Prime membership. What a complete strong-arm this was, toss it in for the holidays, set the hook, then reel them all in. Your calm is remarkable, but your presentation style is hard to listen to once you notice how often you end. with. each. word. as. it's. own. sentence.
It's more accurate to view the Blink Outdoor subscription as optional backup of the video files to offsite cloud storage. This IS a benefit in the event the sync module is stolen or destroyed before the video files can be backed up to other local storage. The USB doesn't need to be moved to a PC or similar to download to local storage back up. Each video file can be downloaded to the mobile device's own storage by pressing the download symbol (down pointing arrow) while viewing each video. Then the video files can be shared (uploaded) from the mobile device to other device storage via email, text, NFC, etc. Or simply share the video files immediately while viewing them.
Just purchased the Blink outdoor kit with floodlight. What can I say? RUBBISH! It says to put the cameras at an angle and not directly at the areas to be monitored, I've done that and the cameras are still rubbish! The postman came today and walked all the way up the drive and to the front door. I handed him a parcel and he went back down the drive, no motion or video capture! What a piece of junk! This will be straight back to QVC!
I was pretty pleased with the Blink Outdoor cameras, but I ordered a couple of new ones and found that something is very different. The view now looks a like what you see in a car side mirror, the whole closer than they appear thing. It just looks like everything is tiny and far away. SO disappointing, especially since most I use for getting video clips of wildlife on our property. I don’t know if it’s a hardware or software thing, so I’m going to switch cameras around but not location. It should’ve been the same when I put the replacement cameras where the older ones were, but it’s not the same at all.
I've been using blink for just under a year now but i recently switched to the Ring spotlight cam plus but after using it for a few weeks now i have to say I'm a little disappointed in Ring and i feel like video quality and audio is much better from blink so ill be switching back to blink and selling my spotlight cam plus
Hey!! Can you help me to chose a camera system please. Has to be affordable (in NZ), have multiple cameras, have local storage and be able to work if my internet goes down. I know I can have a micro sd card in multiple cameras but i like how this system puts one storage option into its hub. Not require a subscription and preferrably only access the internet so i can have the cameras on live view for a few minutes without affecting recordings.
Junk save your money I’m throwing mine away. Have had it about 6 months now and I’ve always had some sort of issues with it. The latest thing it’s doing is offline online. I’ve tried everything and my conclusion is it belongs in the trash. Done f king with it life’s to short
Im LIVID!!! My first camera which was the KIT I LITERALLY got around 2wks battery life. It now says, REPLACE BATTERY!!! WTF R U SERIOUS.... Sure we was doing live views the camera was new and we was doing that a bit much. With that being said, the camera was SHUT OFF during active time. Everyone up, grandson playing, so forth. YET!! I SHUT IT OFF... I then went in and set areas for it to not film, as in, where the dogs walked all the time and or active areas. With that being said, I did have the IR set HIGH, Video set the BEST, Clip time set at 60 sec. WHY!! Because I want the best out of this camera I can get. But should I have to limit the BEST out of this camera just to save on battery life??? NO!! HELL NO!! Blink should have went by their product being the BEST AT ALL TIMES As to battery life. They dont bother to say, Hey, set camera with LOW IR, BAD VIDEO QUALITY, DONT DO LIVE VIEWS. So forth. RIDICULOUS !! I jumped the gun with the first 3wks and purchased now , 3 OUTDOOR BLINKS.. HAVE TO SAY, IM SO NOT HAPPY!! BATTERY LIFE IS A JOKE.. SURE SET YOUR CAMERA AS LOW QUALITY IN EVERY SETTING AND YOU MIGHT GET A BIT MORE BATTERY LIFE.. 2YR MY AZZ!! IM PIZZED Im now in over $300 and FOR WHAT?? And lets not even start with the subscription BS. SO NOW IM PAYING $100 A YEAR FOR SUBSCRIPTION. PLUS $9 A MONTH IN BATTERIES. UMM Total that up will ya. Wished I'd watched this video a few weeks back before i even purchased ANY SECURITY SYSTEM... DO I SUGGEST BLINK OUTDOORS, NOPE!! Have yo say, I DO NOT!! My mother always said, you pay for what you get. In this case 100% THE TRUTH!! If you want a camera your going TO BE LIMITED ON QUALITY, SERVICE, THEN THIS IS THE CAMERA FOR YOU!! BLINK, YOU NEED TO STATE BELOW THAT 2YR BATTERY LIFE, IF CAMERA IS SET AT ITS WORSE SETTINGS.. .. YOU MIGHT, MIGHT GET UP TO 6MO. 2yr battery LIFE, BS THANKS BLINK ENJOY MY $300 While im now back to searching for a QUALITY SECURITY CAMERA
You can view them via local storage from your phone in the app. Don't let that deter you. Purchase a solar panel from Wasserstein on Amazon and you will neverhave to buy batteries.
Just got these just this past weekend. Took me 2 days just to connect the module to the wifi. First day didn't connect then gave up. Next day I got it to connect so finally after I was able to connect all 4 cameras and setting them all up. Their is one camera where night vision don't work. I have an issues with getting live view. I'll click live and it would cancel out saying live is not available. I'll have to do it 3 to 4 times just for live to work. Not just one but all cameras are like that with live. I get no notification even when I'm out there walking past these cameras. I dnt know what to do with these no more. Should I just return them and try something else??
It took me probably an hour to sync my wifi to the module. I guess I didn't have it close enough to my router. After I moved it out was fine. And switching between live views takes a few seconds. You can't close one then go to the next. There's a slight waiting period. And make sure you "arm" them before trying to get notifications.
I cannot see my video clips on my thumb drive. How do I get them to save there. If I go to local storage this is what is written If you don’t have a cloud plan, you can opt to store your clips on the connected usb device And directly beneath that is the following Note: clip backup is not performed for cameras using local storage So how do I get them to save locally and how can I view them??
