To me it seems like Albon is scared to death on track lately. He lifts a lot, breaks early and never sends it. Earlier in the championship he was taking a little too much risk, but now he's not taking ANY risk anymore... Why is that?

Gio is so slept on. I am thrilled that he is staying at Alfa along with Kimi. Wish they were a bit stronger because those boys can hustle.

Honestly he is an amazing starter. The number of positions he is able to gain in that Alfa race in and race out is abolutely insane. In the post race interview on Sunday he also said that he watched all the starts of the lower fomulas from the last years to figure out the best lines and moves.

It’s gotta be hard to lose the race on lap one. On top of that, Stroll has had no luck since Mugello, from mechanical failures to straight up missing a race due to illness. They have just seen their driver drop from 4th in the standings to 11th through no real fault of his own. This one might have been his mistake, but the other things were just plain old bad luck.

Maybe extra careful cos of cold tires as soon as he went harder he locked up in the next 3 corners.

Well Grosjean left the space for Latifi to hold the inside, Latifi did understeer into Grosjean (which is a mistake) Grosjean has the right to claim for it tbh, it's not massive but Grosjean could have kept fighting a bit more on the kerbs after.

@@PhO3NiX96 latifi understeer is only a partial mistake. The other part of the mistake is because someone forgot curbs have bumps and physics is real so you should expect cars getting curbed to understeer a bit even with correction.

I think he's an excellent starter. He understands how important exits are. You always see him taking off the throttle in entry to get the right line for exits.

Yes he saw seb was on kerbs and understeering. Saw kimi going to cut back avoid the crash so left him space as well by taking inside kerbs at exit... Kimi is looking at gio in mirrors and knows he's lost a position, waits for him..... No wonder they kept the duo.

Well Ricciardo and Leclerc managed just fine in worse cars. Yes Albon was first in the firing line, but binning it on a day he could score Red Bull’s only points? I mean, Gasly out-qualified him in the B team car, and even Kvyat pressured him the race itself, not to mention he almost took Kvyat’s wing off AGAIN. Albon’s race craft is as bad as mine in F1 2020. He might be a nice guy, but he just can’t drive that car.

It looks like RB's engine is still slow on restarts. Albon saw he was getting passed by 2-3 people, panicked and mashed the gas too early coming around the turn and spun. Max was complaining about a slow engine too.

I can’t really feel sorry for a driver who bins it more often than not. Of course, I don’t wish his career to be over, that would be down right evil, but he certainly doesn’t deserve the Red Bull seat with the likes of Hulkenberg and Perez looking for a drive. Alpha Tauri is unlikely with Yuki doing so well in F2, so he might be out of luck unless he has a $20 million sponsor up his sleeve for a seat at Haas.

@@Guz2x It definitely not artificial. A V6 has a distinct sound and you can easily hear it. Plus no where in any regulations or rules state that the sound is artificial.

@@semiedgv The regulations require exhaust pieces that increase the sound of the engine, or at least they did as of a few years back. Also, on-board engine noise is dependent on where the microphone is placed on the car, and I think the FIA has optimized that position for maximum engine noise. Mind you, I personally don't care what the cars sound like at this point, given that the V8s that came before them were nothing special. I honestly despised the V8s for replacing the very beautiful V10s, so I have no complaints about the V6 Hybrids given that, at the very least, the relative lack of noise is due to the kind of technological advances that F1 used to be all about.
