Don't play the game get free packs. Be dedicated to the game play almost everyday and buy every pre order get nothing seems about right. I get the reason they do it. It's because they know they're gonna get our money and we're gonna keep playing regardless. What they should do is reward both spenders and casual players.
I'm no Blizzard defender, but it's standard business practice. It's like 'new customer' deals, as a baseline nobody gets anything free, then they offer new customers incentives to try out/come back to their product with free stuff. It would be great to get more free stuff, but it doesn't make sense for them to do just give dozens of packs to every single player.
@@Mejoree113 who's to say people won't drop the game for good or until they get free stuff too? That may be how you make money short term, but pissing the players off isn't really the way to go.
@@Mejoree113 What doesn't make sense is the returning players get more than active players. Like, it makes a ton of sense to give new/returning players a bunch of stuff to help catch them up. But like 100+ packs? That's more than you'd get if you'd been playing F2P for the past couple of years, even with all the events and twitch drops. Oh and on top of this these players also get their free pre-built deck (Which tends to have a couple of good Legendaries in it) So yeah, entice people back in. But don't make it more worth it to actively NOT play the game most of the time. Give a little love to loyal players (Beyond a few crappy portraits...) alongside the enticements for new/returning players. On a side note, it's hilarious that they'll give out hundreds of packs for people who don't play the game... Yet when they release the brand new Twist game mode, they won't even give people like a free "Core Set" worth of cards to make it *playable*... All we got was a handful of Wild set packs as Twitch drops and... Yet more stuff we can spend money on so we can whale harder to try and make the mode worth a damn!
You get way more packs than that as an active player smh. You can get 150 packs from the season pass and that's just me counting the 50 Gold after you've completed the first 100. Then we also get Mini Events which usually give around 4-5 packs and you can get a pack every week from Brawl, along with other rewards for just doing a run of Arena but not finishing it getting that free ticket to repeat and gaining whatever rewards ya did get like I just got a pack and 30Gold for not even a single win. And to finish off the point how we 100% get more than returning players, we also acquire way more dust for crafting just by been active and getting dups. And remember I didn't even mention anything from the SP to 100
@@thek838yeah but you don't understand that's all about grinding, specially if you're F2P it's going to take double the time to get those rewards, while people who come back are getting +100 dollars worth in cards for free. If you have to constantly work for something it isn't free and let me remind you hearthstone without regular players would be nothing so as much as they want to support new and returning players they should also give free things to the people who actually keep this game alive, if you want to take into account what we got for free without grinding it's just a single pack, 100 gold, not even the golden one.
As you pointed, we play this game for almost 10 years now and we don't get much love from them... 150 packs? WOW... For example, it just reminds me all the crazy promotions cell phone companies offer you to get your patronage back, but whoever is already on the plan doesn't get it. 🙃
Yeah but at least phone companies don't really need that much active users but rather new or returning users, unlike hearthstone if many of us regular players abandoned the game there wouldn't be enough players for the new and returning players so they'll have to shut down. Also considering their prices it's more probable that we will buy things with money than new or returning players who almost always play F2P
The phone companies policy (to me) makes no sense. In my country there are multiple with basically the same service for the same price. Why do I need to change operator every 2 years, so I can keep the low cost? And as soon as you change, they call you back to offer you the discounted price (which is the same of the new company)
It ticks me off that people can throw a fit and quite Hearthstone to get 150 free packs. Meanwhile, I've done my daily quest for 10 years and all Blizzard gives me is a bill for expansions, minisets, Hearthstone and Battlegrounds battle passes, full price Taverns of Time, the scam known as Mercenaries preorders, Heroic Tavern Brawls, Arena, Dules, and overpriced cosmetics... We should really be the ones getting 20-150 free packs.
Friends have been getting these giftpacks earlier because they quit the game for some years, I've been back since this year and played almost every single day and only got free deck of choice. It would be great if dedicated players could finally see some rewards too because grinding legend every month is barely rewarding... Thanks for the video Zeddy and goodluck to everyone on the giveaway ❤
I think I should just quit until they do another one of these. It feels more worth it than grinding and getting a few packs a week. Honestly, whenever they do these offers it just makes me upset. Thinking that they've literally never done anything for their fans that have stuck with this game.
@@alex-sh3zy collections are kinda just necessary for more fun. I remember my first 30 games with no collection was just miserable, so I stuck to puzzles and adventures. Now that I have a collection I can at least manage all the quests with some fun, but people getting free packs for nothing is just straight bs.
@@alex-sh3zy I do enjoy the game I've been playing since mean streets but still can only realistically play one class. I am a wild player though so that doesn't make it easier.
Ironically this doesn't seem thankful to players who actually keep alive this game. Yeah I know they gift stuff to get returning players interested but why don't do the same for people who plays at all times? Thanks to them your game doesn't need that many bots and well obviously giving away more than the grindy 5 packs would make people to even buy some things with money. I was about to buy the golden pack but not anymore since apparently they don't care about us, regular players.
I got 20 packs after I stopped playing somewhere in July. Those 20 packs are nowhere near of bringing me back to the game, but getting one pre-order may change my mind.
Haven't played Hearthstone in ages, missed the last 5 expansions or so, suddenly saw this 150 pack gift, claimed it and installed Hearthstone again on my PC and started playing it again. This is the precise reason Blizzard is doing all these give aways, to tempt players who quit Hearthstone like myself to get back into it. They do this to boost their engagement metrics, as in how many players are playing their game and for how long, the more the better for them obviously. So at least in my case, and I'm probably not the only one, Blizzard succeeded... P.S this was meant for players who left the game to entice them to come back, so people still actively playing were not meant to get any packs for free, whether they actually did or not is a different story...
I stopped playing hearthstone around Grand Tournament, I got the 150 pack gift when Death Knight dropped, and now I have another 80 packs waiting for me, Blizz needs to take care of the players, not me lol
That's the whole point... They already got you paying, they don't need to give you anything. They give freebies to people who are not playing the game much to hopefully make them come back and hook them into the store too.
hi zeddy ive been watching you for a long time and ive always wanted to win a giveaway, besides i dont have the funds to buy a pre order bundle since im struggling with a newborn child and ur videos are the light of my day :)
For the people who are upset: I stopped playing hs last year around december and not even 150 packs per expansion I missed would make me want to come back
What I hate is that I didn't play at all from boomsday till death knights introduction and I received nothing and I keep hearing people get free packs and I got none😢
this is freaking bs and discourages me from wanting to build my collection further............why would they reward INACTIVE players, while the real fans that spend lots of time playing and trying to get a DECENT collection without spending money......... gosh, blizzard hates their fans
This was a good, helpful video! Obviously, I started playing again, for the first time in years, a couple days before the free packs were gifted to players. :|
150 packs for free, around 100 USD/EUR if you want to buy it yourself....... best way to realize that packs have absolutely no real life value at all. Thanks Blizzard, not gonna pay for your worthless megabundles!
I've been playing this HS (a.k.a. horseshit) since 2014 almost daily. and never have I gotten even close to being this lucky. so, I would like a freeload mega bundle, please. long live Zed! I mean the MIB dude. you're good, too. so, live long, too. cheers! staying salty. out
People complaining are just sad, how can they be so dumb to not realise this is fair. It's 100% fair and good to give these packs for people who want to return but missed out getting packs for season or two. Would you all prefer for no incentive to be given like MTGA and that way they con people out of more money by returning players are forced to spend tons of money? Also you as someone who plays all the time getting a free 100packs would 100% ruin the economy of Hearthstone and why is that bad? Because them as a company would then be forced to make scummy changes to make it profitable.
I dont get the jealousy from whales in the comments... You have virtually every card?? Ive been playing the game for 6 years or so and between work and everyday life I cant keep up with everyone (likely the people complaining about people getting free packs). If you dont buy every single expansion + mini-set you basically cant play the game. This makes sense to me and its the first time they've ever done something like this.
I really dislike how modern live service gaming works. I understand incentivizing players to return playing, or making the game more appealing to newer players, but don't disrespect current long time players of the game. A game should be more rewarding the more you play. It should incentivize you to keep playing. Not treat their current player base as "we already got your money you dumb fucks, we need fresher blood".
I was a bit of a small whale for Blizzard since launch, spending several thousand dollars on this game over the years. Stopped playing last year, but saw this video and logged in to check. Got the 150, and apparently like 8 standard free packs for some reason. Nuts.
I just downloaded the game because my console commited Sepuku after my terrible gameplay.....All this free stuff is going to take forever to figure out,I'm a 57 yr old stoner.....going to be fun...
Well I just returned to the game like half a week before this promotion so I got nothing. So I'm considering quitting the game again. Why bother. I have to rebuild my standard collection anyway. Might as well quit for another 2 years for a headstart.
My friend got 80 free packs. I watched him open them. Got seven legendaries. One of them was golden. I play a few times a week. Get nothing. I fucking hate Blizzard.
Note that those free returning player decks should be updated a week or so before the new expansion based on the past, they don't generally put the upcoming expansion's cards in but they should have Titans cards and decks based around more recent meta, they tend to be better but I guess might not be, so you can wait a few weeks if you want one of those updated decks.
I am glad they are giving 150 packs to non active players. I will use this opportunity to uninstall the game for at least one year. This way when I return I will get 150 packs and maybe priest class will be deleted by then.
I played standard and got gold for 2 months hit diamond 5 last month and this month so far and I got nothing. Basicly i have built 1 deck. Aggro hunter and i git the pure palladin thay i made a dude pally with and this would made the next expanaion playable for me no i will jot he sinking any money into this. This give away is just insulting.
This has been in the game for a while now but it still confuses me. So ppl who haven't played in a while get packs, that makes sense but also ppl who play daily have a chance of getting some packs. So is this a bug or a intentional thing from Blizzard?
Ive came back to the game, got free deck for trial, got quests to get gold after comeback, but no packs, called two friends to comeback too, one got 150 packs another one 80, how is life fair man...
I logged in the other day to get some screenshots for someone after not playing for ages, got nothing, logged in yesterday, 150 packs, and a free deck with 4 legendaries in it wtf lol. (I pulled 8 legendaries out of the packs)
I won those! Haven't played the game for almost 2 years i think. I love the game, but the packs are getting more expensive, with more and more things to pay for...
hope players like us will get more free packs.. we play everyday , we buy the packs regularly and we keep the playerbase alive.. but nope.. the newbies get the packs.. or the returning ones >-< they dont last long .. thats kinda not nice
I do appreciate these overviews, and you not hesitating to name things as they are. Even when it comes to calling out the game as still being very expensive. Eh, it sure would be nice to get such an infusion of free packs someday...
Maybe they should reward people who have been playing since 2015.. may those people would talk more about this game to people, but Blizzard doesn't know what word of mouth advertising is..
