All the people that used to defend 5v5 now begging for 6v6 😂

I love how Blizzard heard that counterswapping was what made tanks not fun and decided that buffing all tanks would solve the issue lol

5v5 is a big part of what killed ow for me bc having such an important role (tank) up to 1 person and they decide to play doom or something instead of counter swapping your team is almost guaranteed to lose

The only reason I think 6v6 is actually coming back in some form or fashion is because Blizzard has NO reason to bring up 6v6 otherwise. As far as the community was concerned until that dev post was that Blizzard had zero intention of having 6v6 return. Why on earth bring 6v6 up and let it fester until the next Blog Post just to tell the us the answer we already thought it was a month ago? Even Blizzard isnt so inept that they wouldnt realize doing this just to say no would serve ZERO purpose other than to piss off people who started getting hopeful, and even if they say no the community is STILL going to be talking about 6v6 for years, theres no meaning in making us wait to come out and say no 6v6. It would be brainless.

Me & my husband stopped playing when they switched to 5v5. Not only was it no longer fun, but we could no longer duel tank. He would main tank, hold points, push payloads, and i would off-tank, defend back-line, take over if he died, etc. After 5v5 there was so much pressure on the tank that we found it too competitive and no longer fun. I understand people upset about the "shield meta" but part of the fun of Overwatch was figuring out how to get through those shields. Symmetra portal behind the enemy, or even throw a Dva bomb through her portal. Use junkrat to rip through shields, because Junkrat was VERY good at tearing through shields like paper. Sombra to hack, let her hack shields directly - easy fix. All they really had to do was make more characters who were good VS shields or tweak some Alt Fires, like 76's, to do extra damage to shields. Then the shield meta would have been gone without the sacrifice of 6v6.

They bring back 6v6, and it'll be another 11 long seasons to end up where we are now, with the devs having no clue how to balance the game with all the dumb shit they've added for the what was supposed to be "faster paced 5v5". This game will never be fun to play until the day Blizzard wakes up an realizes it is OK to remove whoile characters from the game instead of trying to tweak them within the niche they already belong to. They won't even consider changing Mauga to be able to only fire one gun at a time with a 1+ second charge time when swapping to the other, which would make him infinetly more bearable to play against. They won't even consider removing one of Orisas 50 suviveability buttons, even while empowering armor to a point it has never been before. These devs are fucking dumb and Aaron needs to be fired, he is systematrically killing this franchise.

Ik this comment is not gonna get attention but for the love of christ. The community has already made multiple great ideas on how to make do with 1 tank (if they don't want 6v6) I saw this one vid where he talks about adding like a counterplay ability to the tanks. I won't make this long but basically tanks need like a ability (that needs skill) to counterplay their counters. For example when ball slams he gets 1 sec of cc immunity. Or when hog vapes he lessens the status effects that was inflicted on him like if he gets anti-nade it will only become like 50% less healing. Or for winston his right click will become a ability that has a cooldown that temporarily jamms the bullets of the enemy which can be used so that he wont get decimated by like reaper or mauga. Just simple ideas like that man, i wonder how you guys think of this because personally I think its great.

Once you start playing emulated Pokemon at like x2 speed (and even higher) you can't go back, those games are so slow

I really hate these patches where they SEVERELY overestimate tweaks, like 60% to 100% for Mauga self heal. 80% would've been I think a healthier tweak to at least START with, rather than a full 60-100. There should be ZERO way a Amp Matrix'd Bastion Shift form can't out-sustain Mauga.

I think if they go back to 6v6, they should keep it to 1 tank, but do 3 damage, and keep 2 support. Damage ques are way too long. 3 damage spot speed up que time significantly, and may be a better battle scenario.

As somebody who plays the game for fun, I have been playing it for probably more than 4-5 years and have NEVER played comp. Because my sanity matters, yes if I played comp and really cared about rank or whatever it is then maybe I’ll take these changes more seriously, but bc I don’t play comp, I just don’t care enough, I win some and I lose some regardless of the patch, c’est la vie.

flats isn't wrong, game devs can and will farm the consumer base by passing bad patches and 'fixing' it soon after.

I think the 2 biggest reasons why Blizzard won’t bring back 6v6: 1. The squeal becomes even less justified. 2. They already spent almost 2 years of changes to make 5v5 work and don’t want to put forth the effort to undo all that. We(the community) should still be given the opportunity to experiment and see if this works. Especially if this fixes the balancing issue with tanks. And if 6v6 is this answer, then Blizzard should just let go and go back.

Im team 5v5 tbh. tanks are more powerful which I find more fun, plus where are you gonna get all the tank players? The role was the shortest queue in OW1 and is still the shortest in OW2, doubling it's demand just makes support and dps queues way longer

Nothing against the guy as a person, he seems like a cool dude in interviews. He’s just extremely incompetent and bad at his job

You CAN'T do 5v5 in OW, majority of the OW community has been telling the devs IT DOESN'T WORK since we transitioned from 6v6 to 5v5 FOR A LONG TIME NOW.....5v5 CAN'T BE BALANCED PROPERLY, nerf tanks and they become useless or too weak but buff tanks and they become TOO STRONG. Just revert the buffs, change it back to 6v6, and all of the problems with balancing issues WILL BE FIXED.....
