You guys are awesome adopting these wonderful horses. I don't know why but ever since a young kid I've wanted a mustang . Might be because of all of the westerns I watch. But you guys are doing great work. You are living my dream and ill watch. Thank you
Love this guy, big beautiful bay with a great head/neck set into good shoulders. Powerful engine in that hindend lol and nice big gripping feet.Nice eye and intelligent and had wonderful movement. Don't understand why this guy was passed over unless people worried him being 6yrs old would be to difficult to train? Wonder if some of those yearlings might have been his, seen some there that had a similar look..Anywho, great choice and look forward to the next vid on this handsome fella.. kudos to the person sponsoring him and Julius!
That was incredible, so interesting and informative . Thank you for filming the entire day and process at the mustang sale. Some of us will never have the opportunity to experience anything like that, so it was great you shared..( I was hoping you'd leave with a burrow too..maybe another time? ) That's a very lucky horse you took home. He's going to have a great, long life because of you and your sponsor.
I got a mustang mare from the 2009 Wisconsin mustang challenge. 9 years later she passed from severe heaves. I loved Bayle so much! My lungs went bad before hers did, and for years she was my daytime outdoor transportation. My way to explore. I miss her so much. I also adopted a BLM jenny burro who I called Nellie, and I still have her. Such a loveable donkey. If I could get her trained to pull my one seat cart, we could have all kinds of adventures. :)
What a gorgeous boy, and such a sweetheart. My horse of 14 years passed a few years ago, this boy makes me want another. Well, they all make me want another, but this one especially!
Wow, this was fascinating. I’m just a beginning Western rider (at age 65) and learning every day about horses and horsemanship/horsewomanship. Ths kind of makes me dream of someday adopting a mustang (and hiring a professional to train him/her)... Thanks, will watch more.
I'm with the friend. Nice, straight front legs and nicely-shaped back legs. No cow hocks! People will be like, "Look at the sweet face on this one" or "Check out those ears." And I'm like -- it had ears?? XD
now how can you forget your loyal best friend ... hahahaha hahahaha i guess the excitement of getting your new horse made you forget, but awe all the horses so beautiful thanks for sharing your video first time ive ever watched on bidding for horses just came across this and decided to watch im glad you girls made it there safely with that crazy storm.
I started watching you a week ago, and now am addicted....so late in my 75 year old life!,......I truly wish it was me in her place, as I feel for them.....thank you🎉🎉❤️❤️💋
I was hoping you’d pick one of the duns or the unique pinto or the boy with the grey mane :P I love unique looking horses! But the one you got is also gorgeous 😊
For all sunburned, get the jar of noxema. Put it on before bed. It will take the redness AND sting out of that sunburn :) My Great Gramma taught me that.
Girl, I just love you. I want too do this so bad!.. I've been learning too train for about 2 years but it's been sporadic between work and whatnot. But, this something I would love too do. Maybe someday I'll be skilled enough..lol...keep up the good work girlfriend.
I'd have some fun, and pick based on randomness, or the mystery of destiny. I surely can pick based on conformation, temperament, and movement preferences, but eh, let's have a little fun, go on gut feeling. Not sure if anyone here has seen Elisa Wallace ? Her channel features some amazing mustang transformations. One in particular lately is a horse named Eton. If you ever see the day he arrived at her barn compared to now. It's unreal how much he has finally relaxed into the good life. That's tough to not want all of them, but ummm, most people have budget restrictions, lol. This was an interesting video you uploaded. I cracked up at when you took your quiz next to the jail van reserved parking spot. Eh, when you're on your deathbed that quiz won't matter. This mustang adventure will stay in your memory for a lifetime! He looked pretty amazing leaping onto your trailer. Subbed!
There's a mustang I really want to get, but I don't have a 6ft fence for her at the moment. Until I have the pen for one I'm watching videos like yours and Sam VanFleet's.
How exciting ! Congratulations on the new Steed ! Thanks for sharing the dialogue with the man telling all the rules- interesting to hear for a newcomer like myself to the BLM process. Just curious- how much are your “suggested training fees” you mentioned in the video for someone who adopt one of your horses through the BLM when they are ready for placement?
C est très interessant. Je decouvre vos videos. Quelle jolie vie vous avez ! Il est 3h30 du matin ici en France. Je vais suivre votre passion, merci du partage
Camille, it would be great if you could describe what you are looking for in an adoptive horse, AND what any negatives are in the horses you are looking at. Is it purely subjective, or are there certain signs or markers (like sway back) that would make a certain horse unattractive to you as a trainer? For example, what was the difference between the Sorrel mare you liked and the black horse with the small white blaze #5908? It was already partially gentled and walked up to you at the fence and allowed you to love on it.
I would love to get a mustang one day. I’m a first time owner so I started with a horse who’s already completely broke and just having fun with him. Maybe one day though I can get one and train it. 😁
I would recommend to train multiple domestic horses before trying to gentle a mustang...as you need to go thru the grades step by step....it requires a lot of skill, knowledge and experience to do mustangs but certainly keep learning and go for it if it is a real passion and desire. :)
I really like the buckskin, my mare was a quarter horse sorrel with a flaxen mane...from the King Ranch in Texas. I'm Camille's mom's age........Is your stud horse broke, at least halter broke??
I was thinking the same thing: Wait a minute! Didn't I already see this video? Why is it saying "new"? hahaha. Your new boy looked quite relaxed and unafraid in the trailer during the drive home. I'm glad Julius helped him calm down once he was in the pen. I look forward to seeing what you name him.
Hey Camille! I need your help. I absolutely love horses and have ridden for as long as I can remember. I love what you do. I really want to be a trainer as well when I am older, the only problem is I don't know how. I have been looking at some schools but I can't find one that I agree with. How did you do it Camille?
You might want to try to apprentice with a trainer you really like and respect...I think with horse training you mostly learn by doing (obviously with guidance) as a lot of it is timing and feel to get good, watch a lot of this kind of thing too...good luck. Clinics are also a great way to learn,
Mom had two of those tdcj horses. Both from different units. The first was elderly and was such a sweetie, the other, well, he was an ass but we loved him and we all learned on them
So do you keep all the horses you adopt and train, or do you just pick a mustang for clients and then train it. ? 😊 ( I just seen your note.❤️ duhhh lol)
Love working with stallions, I know he is now fixed. However, they are smart, quick to learn and love this stallion neck line and muscles. You will have fun training this horse can see his intelligence. You are going to love this one can see his athletic ability.
Just wondering, I think I've heard you mentioned you train mustangs for clients. Is there a website I can go to to read more about that? I've always wanted a mustang, but I'm not a trainer by any means. I won't be able to do it for awhile - I have to finish grad school first. Thanks! [I don't have FB or other social media, but if that's where it is I can use someone else's FB ;)]
Ugh I keep trying to reply to your comment but my laptop was being dumb so I’m here on my phone now 😂🤦🏼♀️ I do have a mustang gentling program! You can find the flyer on my Facebook page or Instagram but you may have to scroll back a ways to find it. I do have a waitlist though so if you decide that’s the direction you want to go then shoot me an email and I’ll put you on it 👍🏼
Sorry to hop in here but that’s awesome I too am interested in mustangs in the future but I’m no trainer either. I’m also mostly an English rider cause western saddles mess with my knees but even so I’d def be interested in your program in the future.
IF a Mustang is adopted is it allowed to be shipped to a different country? Im just wondering if there's any way to do so since im Swedish. But since "you" only adopt the Mustangs i assume "you" are not allowed to ship them overseas...?
I need some advice. I'm getting my first mustang (my first personal one, my mom has trained a couple). But, I'm having a hard time deciding what a good "max price" is for one. This mare I have my eye on (I just have that feeling about her. I can't explain it. I feel like I need that little mare) she's a popular one it seems. 14 bids, at $205 and that's not even 5 hours into the auction. Can I get some advice on where I should stop bidding? I keep also considering the fact that she is eligible for TIP so I'll be making back $1,000 from that. The mare is tag 4056 in the current online corral auction if you want to take a look. I've never felt like I've needed a horse so much in my life and she's on my mind all day everyday since I first saw her. (Also I have lots and lots of horse and horse training experience even being a junior trainer. I'm not going in blind and have a big network of help to make sure I'm doing everything to my mustangs benefit in the proper manner)
That one is my favorite!!!! I had a really good feeling about her too! I am assuming from your profile picture that you jump? I think she would be a really nice sport horse! I put in an application to bid on her but only if no one else could see her potential and she was going to go for really cheap. I was hoping that being bay she would get looked over but that may not be the case. Honestly if I had all the funds I'd invest a good 1000-2000 on her. Keep in mind thought that you probably will not get the first $500 until 60-90 days after you finalize the adoption. And the second 500 comes about 60 days after applying for her title a year later. So I wouldn't plan on depending on that money to help you out. But honestly GO FOR IT! I freaking love the look of her. Please let me know if you win her! I'd love to follow her journey!
Camille's Mustangs I'm the one you met today with my mom and sister in the green shirt haha. We'd had a super long talk about adopting a wild one and ultimately decided that getting one in the TIP program would be the best bet as my first mustang project. (We adopted Alejandro today to be my project!) If you get that mare I might just have to steal her from you😂
