The most effective way to block ads is to use a DNS ad blocker. You can install PiHole: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-du13h-9kV2w.html Or Adguard on Raspberry Pi 3 or 4 and connect it to your router and block all ads, trackers, spam websites, etc. I was using Pi Hole but now using Adguard running on top of Home Assitant. It's much more effective and works great. Use RPi 4 as it comes with Gigabit port.

@@aaffariya It works but only for banner ads right now, youtube video ads are upgraded constantly, they always find ways to bypass ad blockers.

when i changed the DNS settings on my Skyworth TV an error appeared "Wi-Fi has no internet access, You are connected to a Wi-Fi network that does not have access to the internet", my network status says "Connected, no internet"...my laptop and phone still works via wifi but not the TV, the connection error is resolved by going back to DHCP setting. i am still searching for a way to block RU-vid ads on my Skyworth TV

I changed DNS to suggested values and it did not remove RU-vid ads. I have a smart Sony TV. I noticed that after completing the procedures DNS values changed back automatically to the original values. Repeated entire process several times with the same results. Note that at end of installation, I received notice of successful completion on my screen. But still I see the ads on RU-vid. Comments welcome.

IP method works. A request to all others properly check and make sure they do not put any extra space, dot, etc. while entering DNS 1 and DNS 2 IP's as this can interrupt the algorithm. Thank you!

Hi Ravi have tried the same with dns change for the anroid Tcl smart tv as per your setting Need to know if the tv is connected with network cable will it work or the tv would have to be on wifi enabled?

4:00 small inaccuracy : You have wi-fi in client mode on phone not server mode. Server mode wi-fi means the 3 4 or 5 g module is in client mode and the phone shares the connection as a server via wi-fi. You cannot use wi-fi on both connecting to a router and sharing via tge same connection.

This is possible, at least on Samsung Android devices. I used Hotspot and it works as a wifi repeater.

Probably because you didn't give it the right IP or subnet prefix. You can't just copy what it says you need to know your devices IP.

adguard will not block integrated youtube ads, this is not a simple website popup or tracking ad.

RU-vid ads can never b blocked as it is a system aap of Android Ads of third party apps can only be blocked and controlled by dns RU-vid is independent of private dns of your phone

RU-vid sends Ads through the same IP as it does its Videos, so any such DNS tricks won't work with it.

It says saved successfully, but when I open apps with ads, they're still there. Very annoying. Update: OK that is true it does block ads, but like banner ads from certain websites and apps. But obviously it will not work with youtune video ads. What you have to do after you enter the adguard dns 1 and 2, you switch off your wifi, then restart your android TV box, or firestick, and it should block those annoying banner ads, especially those free apps that have to make money somehow. If you need help let me know. Also if you use a VPN, the ads may comeback because you have a new IP address, but once you turn it off it will block those annoying ads again.

I did the dns change on Bravia TV and it disabled my Google assistant and had to reset entire TV. My original settings would not come back on even when DNS settings set to original setting. So for serious RU-vid watching I use PC connected to my TV and use Adblock APP. No ads whatsoever.

hey I need help with my TCL tv when I open browser and websites like 123movies and those who have ads, suddenly the new popups and windows get open. Is there a way to stop them? I don't want the new windows to open. Incase if they open how to close those windows? Use VPN service or set up Adguard or PiHole on Raspberry Pi to filter all ads and trackers from your network. That's the best way to block ads.

Thanks Ravi, I’ve been using this adguard dns for years with multiple devices and it’s great. I’m aware that using a DNS service slows down the internet or apps take a lot longer to load into. Best way to block ads, trackers and spam sites is to build Pi-Hole using Raspberry Pi.
