to answer questions on how to rematch bosses (and other general questions): how to rematch main chapter bosses? go to the airport. from there, walk west (left) until you see a door. go inside the door and speak to the man. choose “cold” in dialogue options and you should be able to rematch cruel king. Choose “toxic” to rematch bubonic plant. how to rematch mini-bosses? any other boss can be rematched by going with a friend who hasn’t fought them yet. (creds to @ heyitsvalkyr) can you get achievements on rematches? yes why do i have -1 atk? check your inventory, you likely equipped a card that reduced it edit: btw very cool theories in the comments
so practically, cruel king finally comes to terms that you were not wanting to fight him to be aggressive, but because you were doing it for a good cause.
Tbf he was under the influence of the "Voices," so even if we did try to convince him, he wouldn't budge because of the Voices. That and he was scared for his people, he just wanted the best and thought the ice dagger would help.
Canonically the reason you're fighting him is because you have to face your demons from the past, so you making peace with him after you make him understand why you fought him in the first place makes sense in that regard
cruel king's probably my favorite character so far. honestly he hasn't been too cruel from what we've seen - his reaction to us when we fight him (first fight, and also the rematches), is pretty valid
Same, I enjoy every trait about him: his music during the battle, his personality, his plain, straight to the point type of attacks (no spinning or other unnecessary movement to try throw people off when trying to guard), his beliefs, his VERY COLD STAND UP from the throne, right before initiating the fight, the ominous noise and screen becoming black and white for a second was quite intimidating and felt really into his character.
they legit named him "cruel" king when he's been the exact opposite, he's done everything he could to save his kingdom from literally plot armor declaring "lol ur all gonna go bye bye" even if he failed and ended up getting stuck in some pink limbo; even comes to terms with the player and befriends them to help them train for the final boss he is a giga chad
>be corrupted monarchist >get a cold dagger, freeze the entire kingdom over >meets the protag >claims he will change the fate of blackrock >gets obliterated by apple pie + dynamite >show up in protag's mind >angry >get beat up again >realize you're in the wrong >train protag sometimes >refuse to elaborate >sit on throne
You think it's done sort of limbo? I think it's a sort of player's dream, as they fall asleep from this magical smoke machine at the old man, and the smoke machine forces a soul of the boss to be in their dream depending on what thought they had (I'm feeling _). (pink) limbo, lust, all gone...
when i first noticed the dialogue change. i tought he would constantly complain but when i realised BRO HAD A REDEMPTIONA ARC IN A FEW MINUTES i was stunned
Demo 3 feels more like "I feel Hollow" or "I feel Empty" since ghostwalker is associated with ghosts which are usually intangible, the effects of the ghostwalker affects the player in that way. Demo 4 is most likley "I feel Scorched" or "I feel Burnt", self explanatory.
I have a theory:i think the reason why he says to fight your inner demon i think there suppose to be your trauma like if you think about it like we witness the cruel king die infront of us and we litreally just saw griefer stabbing himself with the venomshark and turning into a plant monster this is just my theory of course
Concept idea for ice dagger: when you get cruel king to apoligize there should be a chance where you could see a sillhouette of him when you use ice dagger and does the sceptic strike
imagine during blocktale's final boss you get to use ice dagger in its strongest form and summon a transparent cruel king as a (weaker version of him) npc to fight with you
If you think about it, cruel king is actually not that cruel, he was just really influenced by the voices into thinking he is saving his kingdom while not realising he is hurting them
I once saw a comment saying ""Are you here for *me?*" I read 203874927 fanfics reading that line" And i am now scared of whats gonna happen- That aside Cruel king had an amazing character development, hes now my favorite boss :D
I like how cruel king is now a friend after the rematch and want to help you in any way, sad he is “dead” but he still help you to train Edit: Why I have too many comments and likes?
@@dusty0896Exactly maybe there is a good and bad ending to this game where if you don’t come to terms with your trauma from every fight you get corrupted like every one else except you are now far too powerful for anyone to defeat you and maybe there can be an indication that you have come to terms with that trauma with something like cold becoming calm and toxic becoming kind or something like that.
The song here is called Nirvana, that would mean this the equiviliant of afterlife in this world. If Cruel King is here after dying, that means... Guys I don't think Brad will be fine.
I feel bad for the Sword Holders, they didn’t deserve what they got, but the “voices” are the ones who led them there, the king was probably just seeking greater power to protect Blackrock and Brad was led and manipulated by the voices because of his past :(
DEMO 2 SPOILERS AHEAD!!!!! People say cruel king was nice all along, but so is griefer. In his dialoge after getting the venom shank he talks about how he can “hear the voices *again*” meaning he’s both been swayed by whoever stole builderman and those voices, otherwise he was a normal kid (as seen in the Pancea achievement image) you can’t tell that though cause the reruns show him as beg plant thing
if you think about it, he was only trying to make his kingdom great, for the sake of his people. however he did so without thinking of what it might bring on the others, hence the people of roadtown. this lead him to act irrationally towards potential problems that could stunt his kingdom’s growth, hence the player who is trying to obtain the ice dagger, the key to blackrock’s success.
virgin infernus (the battle bricks) - Sends countless legions of his men to die to the blue team - Wields a big sword that he doesn't use 50% of the time - Sore loser who screams like a baby when he's killed CHAD king - Faces you head on solo using the smallest SFOTH sword - Tough, balanced attacks that don't rely on RNG - Cares for his people and kingdom - Humbles himself and helps you after realizing you're fighting for a good cause no hate towards tbb I love that game and block tales too
imo, there’s two possible explanations for this world 1. The Cruel King is actually dead and gone forever. Who we fight is simply a thought in our mind, plaguing us with guilt as we knew that the king was never a bad person, simply misguided in his honorable goal of protecting his kingdom and his people. Him coming to terms is more so us coming to terms, accepting his fate. 2. This weird pink world is some sort of Limbo or Afterlife. The Cruel King is dead but he’s still sort of alive in a spiritual sense, here with us. In this explanation, he actually went through his redemption arc, becoming our teacher in whatever realm we’re in. I personally like explanation 2 more for obvious reasons :)
2:01 This is the moment where cruel king realized he messed up and starts apologizing to the player At this point he is finally nice again and he says every rematch is training for the player and to show ck what has the player learned He is so nice he is helping the player in the afterlife I hope griefer acts this way too but currently we can only rematch bubonic plant and that thing only says question marks
Theres also a secret or unused dialogue where he calls the guards in on you. To see it, you have to both die and win on the same turn. This can be done by dying to an attack while the king is at 1 hp and burnt/poisoned
@@Red_demon-hv7si”GUARDS! ARREST THEM!!!!” Whenever someone collapses in battle with Cruel King, it is not unused, in fact, pretty much every enemy has dialogue for someone being defeated as far as I know
“Cruel” king from his first dialogue, first interaction i can tell by no means is he cruel “Let them live!” And especially 3rd rematch “My people… wil they be safe…?” Those arent the words of someone who wishes to be tyrannical is it? Its just a overly protective king, just like how your father views you as its only loved one, the “Cruel” king views its people and the kingdom as it’s baby/child
If you think about it, that really isn't the real cruel king that you have met in Blackrock Kingdom, it's just your mind. After all, you're fighting your inner demons and accept what happened, you're fighting your mind. However, you really realize that he wasn't so cruel after all
Honestly cruel king after confirm hes wasnt acutally evil just want to protect his people. hes pretty chill like roblox year been bad we can just imagine after this we just chill with cruel king and things we would seen/wished/wanted back in the old yrs we just gonna play uno with bubonic plant for this
Imma actually be honest here I’ve been trying to piece together the lore And I’ve think I hit an idea So basically, in the sword fight on the heights swords There’s some kind of voice? I’m not sure what, perhaps some kind of entity trapped in them, and they’re trying to get out, by corrupting those that use the swords, like how they did with Brad, or drive them insane to cause a distraction like cruel king The 1st rematch with cruel king actually suggests that they may be using a method similar but adjecent to what the guru does to talk to those who wield the swords, which means potentially it could be someone the guru knows?
this is probably not true, but imagine if the voices are inside our heads too, which is why we call the king "cruel king" while it doesnt really fit, like "cheeky eagle" too for example.
If u want to beat cruel king without taken damage u must be good at timing if ur good at it ur gonna need rocket for that I almost killed cruel king without taken damage bc of rocket
