Thing is, they are listed as 'flush-able wipes' so that's what people do.

They flush but they don't break down just clog up the system

I can not understand why the government haven't taken them off the market! They cause nothing but trouble 🙄

people using wipes are paying for my plumbers new jet ski. Why talk yourself out of a pay day?

That’s the most ridiculous thing I’ve heard! Why would they tell off the customer who is paying their salary and buying wipes that state on the package “biodegradable” ?! Wouldn’t a more reasonable idea be to file a class action lawsuit against the manufacturer of the wipes? They’re scamming the public and costing them a fortune. These wipes are most commonly used by young children and the elderly, who are blissfully unaware of the damage it can cause, much like myself until recently. I stumbled upon a media report on the topic that brought me to RU-vid. If it wasn’t for that I would have continued to buy them for my kids. It’s not common place for people to watch plumbing videos.

@@eas8381 With you 100% ….. in America a class action lawsuit by an environmental group would be great. They truly are horrendously bad for the planet. Of course, some people would need them, but they have been marketed as a replacement for paper for everyone, and have had false advertising put on the packaging.

@@eas8381 Just because it says biodegradable doesn't mean in the next 5 minuets. It might degrade but take a few years. And most of the wipe say right on them not to flush. Perhaps read the pkg and research how long it takes to degrade.

That’s actually a really smart idea…. Basically the same process as making it in the first place 😂…. Heck, he could press it, roll it out and dry it and it would be good enough for emergency 😂😂😂

@@englishruraldoggynerd Thank you.. Hope he can use it. He's good about cleaning up, but maybe this will make it easier for him. He's a hard worker, and doesn't cut corners. Deserves to make it easier, and cleanup is the messiest part.

Or you could do it the old fashioned way and use ordinary toilet paper

Guy I work with son does this for a living reckons about 80 percent of unblocking is wipes

There was an effort, but i guess the government has it's hands tied from doing anything much over this one, it also boils down the the fact that they never designed to be flushed in the first place, but people missing some common sense do it anyways.

In huge concentrations yes. But his applications of it are balanced off but the acidic waste it is covering. It all combines to break down the waste and disinfect / de-stink it.

@@penetratorblockeddrains Ok, then they definitely had a conversation over how not to dispose wipes. Who do you charge if one house hold has a problem, but the problem is under another house hold or under someone elses responsibility and not the customers fault at all??

They indeed are flushable. Just not biodegradable, at least short term.

I think I should start my own wipe company lol
