For the job it was, that was FAST. Investigation, dig up and repair, clearing, magnet pull, pressure wash, all in under (probably) 45 minutes? Maybe an hour, if that? That… was a heckuva job. 👏 👏, Gavin.

I think connecting the pipe will make a huge difference. lol. But that open gutter at the end of the pipe in the yard will always collect leaves that will need cleared. Some sort of grate on top would really help……

You know someone stuck that rebar in there to try to clear the drain and lost hold of it. It's a shame they didn't know their pipe was busted before hand. It would have saved you some time by going directly to it. Great job of solving the mystery of the blocked drain. I'm looking forward to the day you find another favorite toy. Thanks for keeping on producing these vids.

Waw it just shows poor and shoddy work always and eventually comes to light, imagine all the actual effort that was put in the time it was dug and laid and all for a 2 to 3 foot piece of pipe it failed again and again but now the PENETRATOR has been and shook his hose at it the problem shouldn’t happen again as long as the customer maintains it spring and fall, I couldn’t understand why there was no ROOTS or Toads or balls up in the pipe!!!! Love your work and hope mrs P is well and your family too, Dale all the way from Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿Great Britain 🇬🇧 you always sort or identify the customers blockages and fix or advise them what to do and leaving them to chose the next move, thanks for the educational viewing opportunity and your time, Dale

That pipe was probably connected initially and then cut when work was done on the footpath. When they put the NBN in here they just cut our pipes and left them like that. By the time anyone noticed the contractors who did it were long gone...

As far as mending the pipe being the sole solution to the problem, it may have not been the main issue.... using a human as an example... a doctor wouldnt ignore a broken bone in a cancer patient..so obviously you wouldn't ignore that.

I really enjoy watching your storm water videos. I Find the difference in code compliance interesting. I am a plumbing designer and there are several things that I have seen that would never pass in the region for which I design. Anyway, I am grateful to have found your channel. I really appreciate it when you state which videos are storm and which are sewer in the video title. I can't stomach the sewer videos (mostly due to the greasy waste) but I do "watch" them on my computer while I am doing something else. When I come back I click the like button and find another video to watch. It's the least I can do to help support your channel. Thank you for the great entertainment and education.

@@penetratorblockeddrains Honestly, seeing some of the stuff you deal with I have started to rethink how I design a storm water systems. What you might find interesting is that all stacks (including storm water that go directly below grade) must have a clean-out at the base and no "T" junctions are not permitted. All 45s or wyes for storm, sewer, and condensate disposal. If a storm water stack is to discharge above grade then it has to be a minimum of 6" AFG and should have a splash block to protect the foundation (like those stay in place). No cleanout required for this situation. No point. I design systems for Florida, Georgia, Michigan, Texas, Mississippi, and other States but oddly, I don't live in any of those States. I used to but not anymore.
