I was at this concert...was my 22 and B-Day...I don't quite remember who was with me really...but I do remember my car broke down 3 times getting there...lol...but once we did..so much fun!!! Much love for Blondie!!! A staple in my late teens and early twenties!!! TY for all the good times in NY & NJ !!!
Belle. I remember driving to a Gig, to see Ritchie Blackmore`s Rainbow and it was so Foggy you couldn`t see more than 20 feet in front of you. We ended up sitting on top of the pile of Boxes that all the Speakers and Amps came out of. Security came to get us down. It was still a great night though. Happy Days 👍🎸✌️
@@flipper2392 I work part time in the periphery of the music industry. & yeah I meet that group. The post modern studio performers. Mostly I meet or work with musicians that prefer and thrive on live shows, the clubs, bars, coffeehouses, college parties, outdoor shows, festivals. The advantage of audience feed back is there and these musicians are open to the benefit of interaction with the live audience
Blondie was post-punk... which, to my mind, is basically just punks who got really good at playing and performing (image is important too) ;) BTW: Debbie Harry going on the Muppet Show and singing Rainbow Connection... Peak cool
I saw Blondie back around this time and although I wasn't expecting much they played a great set and brought the house down. And while Debi was and is a great performer the thing I remember most was Clem Burke's incredibly energetic drumming . Those were the days
Having just seen them at Glastonbury(about 4th time I've seen em?). Debbie still performs incredibly ( maybe she doesn't have the range but gets round it by 'playing' with the songs, like here tbh!) . But yeah, that Clem Burke drumming, wow!
@@OhClaire714 Absolutely. I'm not surprised she's sweet and humble. I get that vibe Kelley that just comes through; unlike today's talentless whatever they are. I got to see Blondie in concert in 1997 at the Universal Amphitheater (now long gone) and Debbie and the guys were amazing. Still are today. This (later section of the '70s) rendition is a fresh take on the T Rex classic while still being faithful to it. Thanks Kelley.
I’m reading her memoir now. Absolutely riveting for this Jersey chick. Can’t believe this was down the shore in AP ! Wish I went to this show SO badly....
I'm still in love with Blondie, I started to listen to her back in the mid 70's when I was in the Navy and all of my friends who were R&R only started to appreciate her music. I went to a Disco in France and everyone was dancing to her music!!!
Would have loved to have been at that show. Remember buying a Blonde album and thinking Debbie Harry was so beautiful. Long live New Wave. That was such fun, creative time when commercialism wasn't the most important thing.
With all respect to Blondie who are a great band, this is not their finest hour. A rough jam version and nowhere near to standing up to the T Rex version

lyes lamrani I remember seeing her walk down the street when I started working for d.s. in NYC back in nineteen ninety we were the only two people on that twenty's numbers Chelsey street on a cloudy spring morning at first I was going to climb out of the street sweeper I was driving and at least say hello but I changed my mind decided to respect. Her privacy so I just tried to take a couple of good looks and keep going she was one of the most attractive woman I have ever seen in my life that was fifteen years before this tape. The way she looks here could this be her hard core days at least she cleaned herself up well
Debbie was one of the few that could wear a black plastic bin liner and still look a pure stunner. I never get tired of seeing her, as would any red blooded male and probably a few red blooded females as well. The complete package.

I've heard the boot version and the official CD bonus track (which are one and the same) but until now I had never seen this cool live video version of "Get It On" before. It's awesome as well. Maybe even better than the boot version that eventually saw release as a CD bonus track. Blondie's cover(s) of this T.Rex classic are my favorite cover version of this song. And among my fave covers of any Marc Bolan songs.
have to agree with you with Burke's great and indispensable contributions but.. I think it is more like a perfect musical marriage with Blondie ( Debra Harry for the purists that will say.. thatsss the band..lol ). Burke is a show unto himself. I always look for him in background just to see him do what he does so effortlessly .
@Cosmik Debris Because the Ramones require only a simple, driving beat, and Clem is genetically incapable of playing simply - which is why he's great for Blondie.
I’ve had a mad crush on Deborah Harry for decades, and I’d always kinda assumed she was in her teens and twenties when Blondie broke big. But tonight I figured out she’s 34 years old in this video … which makes her only 2-1/2 years younger than my mom!! 😕 Oh well. More power to Ms. Harry. You only live once. ❤️
