@@blueyes816 I'm truly mystified by these many "underrated' comments ... WHEN HAS BLONDIE EVER BEEN UNDERRATED? Never. Widely praised, commercially and artistically, around the world.
She almost makes me cry singing this, its one of my favourites and she makes me remember what life was like when these originally came out👄Love you Deborah 👄👄🌹
I understand what you're saying about how you almost start crying when hearing this version, does the same for me too. There's just something about it. I can't put it to words.
Un des meilleurs enregistrements de ces chanson!!!Debbie est ''on fire ''🔥et le public lui rend bien...C'est fabuleux!!!Deborah ah la la....tu est la meilleure!!!❤️
Nice upload! From the "No Exit" tour in '99. I was as an engineer working for the company that did the rear-screen projection for all the U.S. shows (NEC). The company gave each of us techs and sales people four tickets to each show, with backstage passes. After the Santa Barbara Bowl show, on my birthday, backstage, everyone was asking for Debbie to sign their ticket stubs. When she turned to me, I explained who I was, and that it was my birthday. I said I didn't want an autograph, but a kiss instead. She was happy to oblige! After the show, as we were looking for a place to get a drink, we walked past the Soho on State Street, and heard live music. Who was playing? The English Beat! We bought tickets, went in, and watched Dave and the band. The best birthday ever. So, I've got THAT going for me, which is nice.
My goodness, blondie is my all time favourite band and The Beat (as they were in England) another favourite of mine. I met Debbie once walking down 23rd St in NYC (mid to late 90s before the Maria / No Exit comeback) and … longish story short, she was wonderfully willing to stop and chat about the band and it was a lovely encounter.
Clement Burke is my favorite drummer, hands down. Instead of a lot of self-indulgent drum solos, he plays relentlessly, but always WITH the band, not against it.
I started in 1978 when I was just a kid, and it's now 2020. My friends thought I was, ...weird that I liked her. Hell, I was mesmerized by her then, and still am. Debbie and Farrah. My adolescent years were great!!
Debbie and Johnette Napolitano may be my favorite female rock singers ever and I´m a metalhead! and the drummer is so damn good the man is a powerhouse
Holy shit these two songs back to back made me feel like I was there at the concert! Loved both these songs back in the day! And Clem has always been a god, loved when he backed The Eurythmics on their Revenge album, whatta signature drum style!
This is the best band in the world bar none! They have it all! I wasn't born until 1983 but I love all their albums from the debut to the most recent, Pollinator! Absolutely amazing artists and genuine people who came from nothing and made it big. Debbie, Chris and Clem are rock legends, not taking away from the other guys either because they are all amazing still, now, in 2017! This band are the real deal! 🙌😎😍🔥🤘🎸🎤🎶🎹🐝
Mine too. Since the reunion here in 99 and after she repeats the 1st part..it becomes daylight...I say hes mine instead of "to the orange side rearrange my mind....in turquoise...???? shes done it since 1999????
Blondies band has changed this music up and made it flow with the changing times No other female singer has ever had a voice like Debbie along with a great band
KP Luke Pham my fave. Remember it well. Fit right in wth all the acdc pretenders joe Jackson petty zevon and on. Late 70 s. Big motors big stereos and cheap gas And mixed tapes. Side b fave. Die young stay pretty Great blondie song
Shayla worked in a factory She wasn't history She's just a number One day she gets her final pay and she goes far away Green trees call to me I am free but life is so cheap Scenery is still outside of me All alone trapped by its beauty Shayla turned to run away to leave in peace and end her stay Years of fear were in her way Lost in space and down she came Suddenly some subtle entity, some cosmic energy, brushed her like shadows Down here we stop to wonder Cause on the freeway Bright lights and thunder
Blondie, all I can say is 1 of the best band's of all time, Clem Burke 1 of the best drummer's I've seen, brilliant talent, and I know about drumming, oh and also Debbie is a brilliant singer and performer......
Shayla - an absolute Blondie classic, brilliantly performed live some 20 years after eat to the beat was released. I think a special mention is due to both Paul Carbonara and Leigh Foxx here.
She is a remarkable woman. God, I love her. I love her coolness, her calmness, and her undeniable and unfailing confidence. She didn't need to wear a bikini or to show her belly button, although I would love to see her mid-riff. She is the best front woman ever.
Que rola, que canción, que cantante, que baterista, que bajjista, que tecladista. Una interpretación muy por encima de nuestras cabezas. Saludos desde cdmx México 🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽 julio 2020.
l love watching this they really were in cracking form here love the audience interaction with debbie and clem thrashing them drums on the kick off to union city blue total pros.
I think Clem Burke was a drum kit in a previous life.....his sound is 5 steps past spectacular.....really.....And Union City, New Jersey is Deborah Harry's Home Town.....
