I love your battle reports. The point of view camera instead of highly produced cuts; the reflective narration after each round; the story telling and imagination you put into the explanation as to what’s happened; the in the moment explanation as to what you think you and your opponent should do next. Really entertaining videos which tell a little story and get you invested in what’s happening on the table which makes you almost forget it’s just a game of chess between two people! Keep up the great work!
I cannot say enough how much you, Winters, and Sultan himself, have pushed me over the edge on actually starting my collection and playing 40k TT. Before I was just loving the books and now I've found a new peace in building and painting. Maybe someday I'll play an actual game but even if I don't please know that your channel has positively affected my life. Thank you both for everything you do!
Ice Cream Truck rolls by, battle stops, Blood Angels line up on one queue, Death Guard on the other. Everyone gets an ice cream. Battle ceases, the objective forgotten. We finally know peace.

I love the fact that you did a bigger banner on the sanguinary guard. The new banner takes the piss. It looks like a paper bag pissing in the wing compared to the old one.
Most Australian and New Zealand wines have screw caps because winemakers there decided it was way more consistent and worth it to avoid cork taint. Some bloody great wines have screw caps now!
not sure if someone else mentioned this, but the blight hauler shouldn't have been able to shoot its mortar out of combat with the dreadnought. you can't fire blast weapons at all if a vehicle is locked in combat, into or out of.
Despite considering an Australian themed IG regiment (no not just -mad max- ash waste nomads) for years and years, it only just occurred to me now what they could be called.
Love the smack talk about Winters using overwatch and then he goes and uses armour of contempt twice, the single most boring strat in the marine arsenal.
Great introduction! Nice game. Think it could have been over sooner if not for the dice fates being poor for blood anget. Sultan your armies really are glorious but the contrast of colours with the death guard and theme was great. Mephiston on paper seems more like his lore now. And what a great table!
Amazing report. Winters + Sultan are the best bat reps on the net hands down. Sultan managing to win over those dice was epic. I feel like the new codex is good and very narrative. I would love to see them up against world eaters, would be such a blood bath. Followed sultan plays.🎉
Lovely batrep chaps. I’d just finished watching a video on another popular 40K channel about rare situational rules shenanigans and sultans charge vs the plague burst crawler made me think of it. Would it have been possible with the long brutalist charge to place the brutalis between the two crawlers having only charged one, then when mephy killed the charged pbc the brutalis could pile into the second?
For the purposes of rules that are triggered when a unit is destroyed, such rules are still triggered when one of the individual units that made up an Attached unit is destroyed (the Leader or the Bodyguard unit). Example: If a rule awards you with 1VP each time an enemy unit is destroyed, and you target an Attached unit, you would gain 1VP if the Bodyguard unit is destroyed and 1VP if the Leader unit is destroyed (for a total of 2VP).
When you get a mission that says your opponent picks three units you score when you destroy them, where does it say the bodyguard and leader must be destroyed in order to score. The rule above seems to contradict this. Just curious.
That Opening was wonderfully made and such a Blood Angels thing to do i love it. BUT.... that game was hard to watch, It really felt like watching someone not having went through the rulebook about blood angels. The list is a fantastic list but i would have expected Sultan to be way more aggressive with his units than what he was doing.
Winters you should definitely try using the -1 ballistic and weapon skill plague, it is always far better than the others and would have made a HUGE DIFFERENCE defensively this game.
Oh, Winters! It was obvious in your 5th that you should have gone for the lone captain instead of the Dreadnought. Your plague burst crawler would have contested that objective, the chance of it not going down would have been good. Even if it would have been destroyed, then the BA player would have still get less VP, than what he got by going for a 5 VP points on primary in the center, with the Captain, + 5 for Secure no man's land (for having 2 Obj in NoMan'sLand. You could have made it only one SecureNoMan'sLand for him. You could have lost to only 1VP if that Dreadnought would have still been alive and you plague-burst crawler would have died. Otherwise, if you plague burst would have survived, and you would have killed the Captain in the middle you could have won.

IDK if you counted it, but you can only score Storm Hostile Objective T2 onwards; you cannot score it T1. If you draw it T1 you have an option of either holding onto it to score next turn, or putting it back into your secondary missions deck and drawing another.

The super classy opening really threw me. Was that a bottle of Winters' Blood or Winters' Tears? The visual contrast between Sultan's Blood Angels and Winters' Death Guard is great. In deployment, I imagine the Blade Guard all scrunched up at one end of the Land Raider, trying to stay as far away from Mephiston as possible. 40:24 POX BUNNIES!!! 🐰
The comment about the Vindicare being able to hit anything is hilarious. I had a game against T'au with my guard yesterday and my Vindicare rolled a 1 for his shot twice in 3 rounds of shooting. The one time he hit he rolled a 1 to wound, which I CP re-rolled and the Coldstar commander saved. My Vindicare is cursed and my opponent thought it was hilarious that a Culexus assassin would likely have been more useful against the T'au that battle.
Don't know if it's true but I once heard sultan was asked if he could kill a bear with a knife . He proceeded to kill two bears with his bare hands just to make a point
I think the changes for death company melee weapons was a miss. They all should have gotten eviscerators. Different then power fists and thematically way cooler.
Did anyone else read that as "Blood angels vs Death company"? Or do I just need a nap? 😅 Edit: or I might be a madman with a great idea for a narrative game of the chapter reigning in some frothing maniacs.
