Paco was the one who started that little shit "street gang" within his own family then he feels like he is the one that needs to braeak the onda and prison gang wars.....even when his little brother needed guidance in his own house not in the streets but everything is too late no matter what Paco tries to do
That tough guy persona was his way of dealing with the pain and guilty inside of him. In the last scene he finally let it go and forgive himself for his own wrongdoings
@@JeriDro your right. All of it was his fault. Miklo Did him a solid when he took that gun from him before Paco was gonna kill Spider. And then years later, he shoots him in the leg...messed up.
It’s funny when Montana tells Bonafide “we can stop the killing now,” Miklo and Magic glance at each other with disapproving looks. I’m sure they were basically thinking “heck yeah, we’re definitely gonna kill Montana now, as he’s gone way too soft.”
@@ShadowDarkHeart90 He was already soft when we meet him....just not as soft as he gets. He saved the apple to give Miklo later. Spared Miklo for no reason. I mean honestly the only thing he really does is order Miklo to kill the chef as an initiation, aside from that he's passive and whipped.
@@ShadowDarkHeart90Montana was reading alot of books. He was sharpening up his mind instead of his sword. The rest were just soldiers. All they knew was violence.
@@mistermonologue2442 He was soft but still tried to rep the gang. He was planning to take out Al for his disrespect anyways and stopped Popeye from taking Miklo’s ass because pimping and homo stuff is bad for image. When he let Carlos go and destroyed the image of Onda, resulting in everyone pushing them around, that was a step too far.
The bars this movie drops. "The only way for us to get real power is for black and brown to come together. Ill add let that union be based around loyalty, commitment, and above all else respect
@@shawdykurupt2985 They had not thought that far yet relative to the truce. Even though they had planned Montana’s death, they couldn’t predict what exactly would come next after Montana’s death. All hell could easily have broken loose where there would have been no truce to speak of. Also, the plot to kill Montana could easily have failed.
@@shawdykurupt2985It's interesting. In my opinion, black and brown united under Montana; in the end, Miklo and Spider united Vatos Locos and Tres Puntos...
You know that gutted miklo when Montana said he was going to get to see his daughter. it was written on his face with guilt. They should’ve shown how they made the mold of the comb before sending it to Wallace
The mold was made out of soaps and they left that part for the end of the movie as it ensured that viewer that it was in fact miklo who put the hit on Montana
When Montana told Milko about meeting his daughter, the look on Miklo's face is pure regret cuz the decision has been made, the note & comb was already sent. He changed his mind but it was too late to go back.
pervy sage according to the director they were supposed to make a part 2 to the movie where she gets into the gang life but that’s all words on paper now they never got to even consider filming
I watched this movie a billion times when I was a kid, but didn't start watching good times til like 5 years ago and I never knew it was SWEET DADDY that killed Montana!! dam, he looked old in this, I used to always say that dude looked like a cracked out bill cosby hahaha
3:28 look how magic and miklo look at each other that's when the hit on Montana start they know he's going to chino all they need is the route?? Delano!! Got it!!
Paco better feel like an asshole for toying with Smokey before he died. His hesitation is the reason he was killed. "Look..if you want protection...you're gonna have to give me more than Popeye". That's one more person's life he ruined. Paco was a prick throughout this entire movie.
How does nobody understand that Montana was testing him to see if he was lying about picking? You don't pick grapes one by one, you cut them in bunches. People down below are going off the rails thinking he was talking about "grape street crips" or whatever else.
To me, this is very Shakespearian. This movie is more epic than any since. Well written, well acted. Every scene was carefully, passionately planned. I hate that Miklo had Montana killed. Going to see his daughter. I didnt know that until 2nd time I saw this. So sad. Great movie. On my top 7 all time favorites.
The choice of the timing of the killing was all Wallace not Miklo, yeah he was fooled into doing the hit but he thought he was avenging his own family that's why he chose to do it when he knew it would hurt Montana normally in the pen nobody would touch a man going to see his kids there is a code
Very brutas and ceasar, use females and men's unconditional love and protection instinct to take us out, and also MALE FOOLISHNESS I'm old age TO TRUST other men because of "brotherhood".... snakes are abounding
Funny thing is that Wallace probably had no shot of getting close enough to _kill_ Montana as long as they were in their own cells. At most he could've hoped to stab him a few times in the arm. It was pure chance that Montana demanded to get som extra time and was chained to the outside of his cell.
I know, that shit pissed me off. Montana died so he could comb his hair a bit before seeing his daughter. As if it was such a big deal. Also showed how flimsy Miklo’s plan was.
Actors are soooo Amazing, they portray their respective characters and professions better than the actual ones.Charlize Theron as Monster,Del Roy LINDO,west Indian Archie,Denzel as Malcolm,James Cagney as Cody Jarrett,etc.etc.Amazing!acting,Billy Bob Thornton as slightly racist security guard,Al Pacino as Tony Montana.
While Paco decided that the thuglife wasn't for him and joined the force, Mr. Marcel Wallace decided that the coplife wasn't for him and joined the underworld.
Montana’s last words to Miklo before entering the van were like a last goodbye since Montana didn’t know he wouldn’t return, but nonetheless, exchanged his friendship with Miklo in his last farewell.
This will always be my movie for any occasion.....it's in my blood in my heart, in my soul, in my brain, and most of all with my RAZA!!!! Sangre por sangre.... blood in blood out 👊
@Gwarrior0690 It's how Bonafide delivers his kites. Hides them in the comb and sends it to a BGA soldier as a "present". He says "This comb's got power! Power to give a fool like you nightmares"!
Montana's character is pretty similar to Vito Corleone's in The Godfather as well as Sweet from GTA San Andreas. Where all three are the leaders of their gangs and are the most moral in their situations in they all rejected getting involved in the narcotic buisness despite it being a lot of money because they know it'll ruin their own communities. And so somebody else, usually from within the gang itself, tries to assassinate them so that the gang will embrace the drugs with the old leader out of the way
@55FM0B No It was Magic and Miklo that put the hit on Montana. Towards the end of the movie (Miklo and Magic's last scene) you see Magic pull out a soap mold which was used to forge Bonafide's comb. It was all planned out carefully to save Onda. In this scene Milko looks a bit teary eyed @ 6:07 because he knows he is not going to see him again.
Montana had to much heart and love for his "Family" that's the difference, they want more power and control, more criminal like but Montana cared to much to realize that his own people wanted power and he was holding them back
When Montana is talking about stopping the killing, Miklo and Magic give each other a "I fucking knew it look" and magic rolls his eyes.. I never noticed it before
@Idk Smd did you not watch the second half of the movie? Montana's biggest mistake was letting Carlos go, that made La Onda a target for everyone... He was doing nothing to make Onda strong...only making them go downhill.
Did they predict the future for this hit? If Montana didn’t ask the guard for some time to straighten up then there would be no hit right, or am I missing something?
How that officer treated montana in the county jail is NOT how you treat inmates in real life . You treat them respect and stick to your word . If you tell them you will check on this for em or get em this , do it and they will respect you .
Never understood what the significance was to Montana's question "You ever pick any grapes, Wallace?". They sort of play it out like its some kind of code word. Wallace's answer seems to calm Montana and its only after that he trades with him. Don't get it to this day.
MetallSwede :because he ask do you pick grapes if he said yea then that man was bullshiting. You cut the bunch of grapes you don't pick you cut so when he said cut grapes he knows he wasn't bull.
